Morning all, not a lot out of freezers at the moment just some veggie burgers and peas . Seem to be using more from the cupboards which is good as it works in well with my other challenge (2nd purse) . I feel like a mouse sometimes working my throw these cupboards !

    Morning all.
Got one more mouse last night and hubby re-set trap, but nothing since. That's five in total and I think I'll get another trap today and bait them both. I was expecting eight or nine!!

Shopping for Brother, but nothing needed for myself and won't be enticed. I won't be spending until Wednesday (milk).

TCB offers this week will not entice me either, milk is a plus and Jaffa Cakes will wait until Sunday (after £10 food week is over), so no cheating or failing. If my Lidl offer is the Kievs, then that suits me also as I don't want them.

Might be eating out with a friend, so hubby will have lamb that's left, probably in a curry.
Tomorrow, I'm going to use some of those Tesco mini burgers and make a pasta bake!!
Wednesday, probably sausage and mash with onion gravy.
    Thursday, maybe a pork casserole??

biscuitmad - thanks again, I'll check it out next week.

Hubby has started those Zestlife cholesterol supplements and says they are disgusting!! Some sort of horrid taste??

Morning all, I enjoy reading your threads and really need to take your ideas on board. My ' children ', are now all grown up and left home, but still find myself shopping for a family of 5. My freezer and cupboards are full to bursting, I try to only buy what I need but can't resist a bargain, i am buying more than we are eating ! Please continue to post your ideas and hopefully I will be as savvy as you.
  • Didn't realise £5 food week had started, going to do mine next week, 1st of the monyh and all that.

Over the weekend I pureed some strawberries that i got 2 boxes for £1 and the last punnet of peaches, going to put in the oven on low, maybe Chuck some wedges in later, also took out a pork joint, which will be going in sc.

Can't wait to see how the fruit.leathers turn out.

    Hello all.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I made the mistake of going to Asda on Saturday after ds had gone to a party and spent £8.58. Which leaves me the grand total of £1.42 for my £10 week. Hopefully I won't need to buy anything except milk for ds, and as I've got a 50p voucher for it, I'll have change!!!! :T :rotfl: Not going to take my bag out with me so I can't spend!

Saturday evening me and ds had steak and kidney pudding. Checked the calories on the box and it's over 1200 for one!!! Glad I share one with ds, but won't be buying anymore despite them being lovely.

Tonight is going to be salmon pasta bake with rocket and spinach salad. Going to have a cuppa soup for dinner and save the calories lol.

Pamsy - welcome to the thread. I know what you mean about not being able to resist a bargain!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Are you getting cold sweats Lynsey? Are your palms itching to spend?

It's not going to make much difference to me tbh, going to be skint both weeks lol. Up to you.

Hi pamsie welcome to the thread.

gailey the way to cure OH of criticism is on payday, hand him back some dosh and tell him to find X meals ;) Have to say there's hardly any protein there and to quote Fire Fox, treats should be less than 10% of daily calories.

At Lidl you should be able to find Red Tractor British meat and poultry. Fruit and veg at my local Lidl not bad. You'll also find cheap additive free prosciutto, whole smoked mackerel, frozen fish, marinated fish, Greek style yogurts, plus cheap washing powder (Formil) and W5 washing up liquids which work.
