    Evening all.

biscuitmad - I used to be a member of Quidco, but closed my account a few years back. Sick of seeing how some of my family got ripped off by them and the amount of declines!! I tried a few other cashback sites, but only use TCB now. Saves £5 per year and at least 1% more cashback. Obvious advantages though if you can submit the same receipt twice. Problem being, I'd have to give the first £5 away and feel like I'd be working for them!!
I've never looked at shopitize yet, but will. Do they charge??

Spend a little today, but picked up some cheap veg (mainly potatoes), some salmon en croute and a packet of pea and mint tortellini - bargain at £3.07 for the lot.
I spent £9.72 yesterday and that took the week to a MASSIVE £29.87. lol
I did buy a lot of "snap and save" stuff x 2, so nearer £20 with the cashback off. Counting the full price as money not coming off like coupons, though I can cash in as almost instant. More money for the savings pot.
See what the new offers this week bring.

Had the lamb and lovely. Some to finish for myself tomorrow, hubby is having that tortellini (not for me).

2013 spends to date now £152.59.

I'm trying to do the £10 week, so just under £7 left. Only really milk and fresh stuff needed.
If TCB have anything good, then I'll have to keep that separate or fail. I don't want to miss the bargains.

Missed a mouse last night, the trap snapped but no mouse!! The little b***er got half a malteser though. Payback time tonight, squashed a little Mars Bar into the trap for it's "Last Supper". Chances are there is a nest somewhere and too cold to sort the garage out.

    Lynsey

You don't pay for Quidco up front the take it from money you get from buying from retailers but the clicksnap is not charged so you wouldn't have to pay. And no I don't believe shopitize charge. There is a thread somewhere on mse of all the deals

Hope that makes sense, both kids have got chicken pox and my brain is a bit fried today x

Lynsey there are more germs on the average keyboard than on a loo. I use cotton buds and sanitiser or Dettox type stuff on mine or even Mr Sheen.

Florenceem I spy a pilchard on your plate, supermarkets are calling them Cornish sardines these days to sound posh. ;)

Hi donnajt hi Jelly B

Sessie you'll have to stay off the pork scratchings too ;)

No Ocado order today so extra NSD :j

Must confess I am in the doghouse ATM for frying my second Vaio, this time 24 days after the warranty expired. :o

Only another week tho hopefully before new one turns up and then I can quit posting using OH's rescue laptop (freebie from work cos as you'll have noticed it has keyboard issues). It's a Dell, I dunno whether to rename it Dale, Fido or Rover. ;)

Anyway IT guys at his office are going to try and recover the contents of my hard drive, I really want the pix of my Pa and dawg. :(

As soon as my new Vaio arrives I will be :j:D:T:):happyhear_party_ as then I can get working on my website about.. food.. what else ? ;)

We were bad ad just kinda snacked on houmous and crispbread and grapes and soup today. So OUT of cupboard Heinz org cream of tomato soup and Lyksands crispbread.
I bought the fish at Sainsbobs - it was yummy whether a sardine or a pilchard. Reduced price too.

Today : lunch was sausages, potato stars and beans/spaghetti (of course, both kids like different things even though they're practically the same! and won't have the other) - all out of freezer/cupboards. I just had tinned spaghetti due to ongoing tooth issue.

Tea: Kids said they were not very hungry. Didnt really know what to give them then found a bottle of chocolate pancake mix I'd bought for Pancake Day and forgotten about that just needed milk adding. Made those, chopped them up and served with blueberries, raspberries and a carton of reduced custard. Gobbled up in seconds!

Have just taken half an apple pie out of the freezer for tomorrow's tea. Kids back at school so will be ready for a good tea and pud. I got four reduced cottage pies (big ones) at Tesco today (only went for new toothbrushes for the kids and fresh fruit and milk) for 85 p each so we'll probably have that as it's soft so something I can eat too!

Am going to need to amend my cupboard door list as it's got a lot of crossing out and adding on to it! Have saved it at work so will do this on Tuesday.

Have a good week everyone, sure I'll be back soon.

biscuitmad - thanks. So no £5 annual fee if you ONLY use the "clicksnap"?
Hubby has an account, but hasn't used for a couple of years. I would use Quidco for the "clicksnap" for free, but could never trust them for insurances and other purchases. We earned over £3k there in the past as well!!
The shopitize app stated not compatible??
Hope your kids and your brain recover quickly.

1st mouse of the night caught and trap re-set - looks like a whole family!! 4 so far.

Yes Lynsey seems like you have a nest of them, we were clearing out a shed once and in a Hoover my oh chucked out and told me to put in the trailer with the rest of the rubbish there was a nest inside with little babies, I just dropped it a screamed !!. You'll probably catch another one tonight now.

Biscuitmad, oh no chicken pox hope they are OK piriton really helps if they are scratching.

Never went for a run as oh friend arrived so fed him aswell and just ended up staying in. It's really cold here again.

Florenceem, yeah it doesn't really matter they change the names off fish so it sounds better, was there not a supermarket who instead of calling it a Pollock one of my fav fresh fish when oh catches were calling it something else and the sales went up. My youngest dd loves kippers I can't stand them though.

Catch up tomorrow now, stay warm everyone.

Hi everyone, thought I'd pop in with a report, been reading back a bit - you've all been so busy. :) Will prob be able to post a bit more this week as I have a few days off work.

Talking of which - WARNING, SIDENOTE!
I dont know how many of you remember but I got that Team Leader job over Xmas for our panto? I didnt post very much due to being so busy and also was sick a fair bit. Six weeks of kids kids and more kids, and lots of flashy sparkly stuff. It all went well in the end though :)
Have just applied for a casual Duty Manager vacancy this week and got a email to say I've been invited for interview. This position is internal only and I think about 6-8 other people from my department also have interviews. I'm kind of the odd one out though as they are all permanent cashiers or team leaders and I've only done it for a brief spell (although I have other theatre experience).
    Anyway we've got to do a 15 minute presentation and then have a 1 on 1 interview...eek!

anyhoo, back to my update - OUT of freezer this week:
    - 5 x ready meals :)
    - 2 packs bacon
    - half loaf brown bread
    - 1 cornetto ice cream (the last good one!)
    - 2 blocks cheese
    - 8 white rolls
    - pack frozen mince
    - working my way through eating remaining oven chips and onion rings too, such a penance ;)

    OUT of freezer and binned:
2 cornetto ice creams (they had gone really soft, even the wafer cone)

    put IN freezer
    - whole loaf + 1/2 white bread (to make bread pudding with later next week)
    - whole loaf brown bread (for toast)

have also put up 2 chicken breasts for dinner tomorrow night, going to make them into kebabs with onion and have some other veggies on the side. if I cant find kebab sticks in T's tomorrow I'll just dice the chicken and mix the onions in with it.

OUT of cupboard/fridge area and consumed
    - pack bacon supanoodles
    - pack uncle bens rice
    - 3 pizza bases
    - sachet microwave porridge
    - tortilla wraps x 5
    - packet pepperoni (pizza topping)
    - 2 green peppers (pizza topping)
    - 1/4 tube tomato puree (pizza topping)
    - tub of prepped salad
    - 2 tubs strawberries bought on reduced :)
    - small tub double cream
    - several bags of crisps
    - apple juice
    - various tinned stuff
    - various baking stuff as I made cakes last week to take to work.

    out of cupboard/fridge and binned:
    - 2 x moldy tomatoes - lovely and squishy!
    - some cake 2 weeks out of date
    - box of mini pates (gave mum food poisoning really badly)
    - old medicines with expiry dates of 2012

    </ramble> :rotfl:

Planning our shop for tomorrow right now - aiming for £110 to last us until the end of next month!
  • Had the last portion of HM chilli for tea today, with some rice (added ground turmeric & coriander to the water liven up the rice). One drawer of the freezer section is now empty, but there's three HM meals in the other drawer, plus eggs (which I've hard-boiled for lunchtime sarnies) and yoghurts, rice/pasta./some tinned veg etc in the cupboard. There's only a baking potato and one onion in the veg basket, I'm down to the last bit of cheese and final apple (which might already be 'past it' but I don't think I'll get scurvy in the next few days), but I'm going to persevere with the 'consecutive no food spend' days for a bit longer - 22 days and counting. Wonder if I can make it to the end of the month?:)

  • I make my own bread too :)

Double check the terms and conditions but the way I read it the £5 is taken from money you earn but click snap is completely separate, they normally have one deal a week that ends up effectively free and all except that deal can be done three times.

Sorry dont know about shopitize I just downloaded the app to my iPhone & it worked.

Didn't get round to organising freezers as been running round after both kids, will try tomorrow.

    Xx
