Morning all,
Woke up to snow, so not a good day, afraid of falling over.
Only managed to use a piece of apple pie from freezer yesterday, but put nothing in it. Used up things in fridge instead so have not thrown anything away.
Not sure about today, fancy steak and kidney. Know where the kidney is but not sure where the beef is, probably somewhere buried at the bottom of the large chest freezer. Need to wear the gloves if I am to go rummaging. Lol0 -
Morning all, so glad half term is almost over with my depression its been a very miserable week for my poor kids. Got to get at least try and get organised next week...I really need to do an inventory of all food just to get rid of some...freezer almost has the starting of tiny holes appearing...but nowhere near big enough that i could put something in there0

Today turkey to make curry and a parsnip roast for me.Weight loss challenge 66lb to go /59lb's lost

As its so cold today thinking as freezers so pitfiful im defrosting it at we dont have freezer box on fridge .
I have around 15bags frozen plums at bottom of freezer nearly 3years old should I bin?
I have to pick up some 2nd hand clothes for kids.
small boy got squash ladt night and drak it all neat!
So I have £2 to spend small value squash 36p co-op, we nearly out milk now small boys off boob its getting worse thourght it was just half term increased usuage but get through least 6pints milk a day so if brought all my milk at £1 which is cheapest apart from farm foods which cant get to by myself then im spending £14 a week on milk or £56 a month just on milk!
as younger 2 age 3 and nearly 2 dont want to water down.
Have tried uht in coffees and hate it.
in reality we spend more as have 16pints delivered by milkman £1.69 for 4pints £7 a week/£28 a month plus hop brought milk on top extra £10 a week-£40 a month so actually spending £68 a month maybe bit less on days we just use 4pints not 6 which is why I find grocery challenge quite hard.
We wanted to try spend £50 a week £200 a month but not sure thats doable as leaves 150/4 =£37 a week for meats, veg/fruit and groceries.
Maybe I should have separate household budget as currently estimated £250-300max a month for everything!
Spoke to mate yesterday same size family spend around 500!
In a dilemma over bread.1loaf thankfully can stretch 2days so 4-5loaves a week average full price cost £1 so £5 a week/£20 on bread.
Thats not totally accurate as we always try buy at reduced price was a time we were getting bread 8p a loaf in spar this dont seem to happen as much anymore and when go supermarket reductions are really stingy refuse to pay 20p less for nearly out date bread,
Would i be cheaper making my on as costed it out as 50p?
im not very good at slicing it and use the premade bread mixes from lidls plus bread flours around 65p in lidls.
I need go on reduced hunt more. also need to try get into couponing
I already do lidls weekend deals and now new aldis open with do super six more and batch cook./freeze soups.
There have been times over last 2 years been quite good at stockpiling but recent moths cant keep stockpile it goes down so fast.
If I had stockpile the my weekly spend be less just fresh.
but fruit ad veg is least £10-15 a week.
Havent been farm foods in ages but keep telling hubby apart from frozen veg frozen is expensive way to feed the family as portions are small, quality poor.
Lynsey £154 is still very good i have freinds who are couples which spend £100+ a week.
You still couponing?
sessie-welcome you sound like you doing grand job.
making lists helps im always amazed when go through freezer or back of cupboards .
I make list for front fridge and freezer then cross off as it gets used.
Find it reassuring sometimes and stops me going to shops.
kind of why keep milkman as keeps me away from shops.
sometimes order veg box and other essentials off him.
Best go sort out whiney 3year old whos moaning shes so hungry strop about no biscuits but been offered cereal, roll or yogurt!
If we get out early than can spend rest of day
sorting out mountain laundry, cleaning kitchen, defrosting freezer, hoovering and sorting out stuff for jumble sale tommorow hoping I clear loads and its opposite lidls.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

Morning all, quite a bit of snow here!!
Sessie - welcome to the thread and good luck. I like your spirit.
donnajt - wishes to you, good that things are improving.
gailey - I'm not really "couponing" at the minute, though did get some free Cushelle and just printed off a few for Sainsbury's later. I'll pick up again, probably after March. Not much I need, but beach is getting low!!
I'm trying to save this year and not buy as much - goes against "what I preach" - but I have enough just now.
£100 p/w is a lot, we used to spend £40+ per week and used to have a little "game" to see if we could spend less than £20 in a week. A bit more knowledge now I assume, so with couponing and buying right (including reduced stuff, heavily reduced stuff), £25 average p/w is doable. Prices are creeping up, so those bargains need maxxing.
This has been a bigger week spending wise than planned and that's down to TCB "snap and save" - though with the cashback taken off, it will still be a reasonable week.
Been out to Lidl and got some diced beef and bits, Asda for the Walker's "freebies" (TCB) and bought hubby some hazelnut milk to try (£1).
Took out some beef to make pot roast (thought it was lamb!!). That's for tomorrow.
Had egg sandwich and naan bread pizza's later.
So bits out of the freezer, but diced beef going back in.
NSD yesterday, but only one for the week!! Tot up later.

Thanks all for the welcome, this place is so... homely!
Today, for tea tonight, Mr Sessie is having two reduced chicken/mushroom pies (they were 19p down from £1.35!) out of the freezer with fried sliced potatoes and beans, the children will be having some Dairylea Dunkers, crisps, grapes and yoghurt (all from the fridge, they are having lunch at grandma's so will have had a hot meal at dinnertime) and I will be having.... PORRIDGE!!
Half-broke a tooth last night so need to stay on really soft food until I can get to the dentist next week. It doesn't hurt at the moment but I think if it does break (I can see the line where it is cracked) it probably will.
Bah humbug. Well, bah NO HUMBUGS!Sealed Pot 5 number 15440
