You got any bacon? You could grab some cooking bacon, use some for your fry up and it comes in useful for sandwiches and soups too. Haven't had pancakes for ages, ds and I like the lemon and sultana ones from Asda. Only bought them whoopsied tho lol. Tight mare that I am. :D

Think I've changed my mind for my dinner and have jacket pot and tuna like bramble as I've half a tin of tuna and a spud that needs using up.

i only ever buy whoopsied or value pancakes usually but i'll get some in iceland (there usually on offer anyway) and not set foot in te$co at all :A

i have some cooking bacon left that i got last sat morning to make me and oh bacon sandwichs :) i never had bacon before i discovered cooking bacon as it's far too expensive, i have some sausages hiding in the freezer aswell which were whoopsied so will be a nice cheap fry :j

OOh I seem to forget to post on here. Tight this month as have had to pay DD's next £150 deposit for her school trip to Barcelona, paid £30 for her next session of Life Drawing classes, given her £50 for her weekend in Glasgow:eek:, paid £150 off my CC bill, and am waiting for the bill from the electrician for getting my shower fixed. So going to TRY not to spend much on groceries this month as I'd like to also afford a train ticket to visit my mum in England early December out of this months money.

This morning had toast and scrambled egg and an apple from the pile my BFF gave me from her tree, lunch was a cup a soup that DD won't eat and a couple of H/m scotch pancakes with syrup & dinner will be salmon and broccoli pasta ( have salmon in freezer and since DD is in Glasgow spending my money I will save money and eat things she won't:o). Should be portions to freeze for OH's lunches next week too.

Will try and meal plan for the next week before I go out this afternoon.

    Probably it will be :
Saterday: Chicken Tikka masala and basmati rice with poppadoms
H/M sweet popcorn for xfactor watching
Sunday :Spicy Mushroom & Chickpea Burgers with Curried Rice salad & H/M Slaw
    Fruit Cobbler & Custard
Monday :Spicy Bean & lentil Loaf with L/O salads
    L/O Cobbler
Tuesday: L/O Bean & Lentil loaf with potatoes, veg and gravy
Oranges in syrup or just quartered oranges
Weds: Split Pea & Courgette Soup & H/M Onion Bhajis
Thursday: Spaghetti Bolognese (SC) and make a shepherds pie for freezer with the rest of meat sauce
Friday: Toasted sandwiches maybe with chips

So for this week will need to buy: Milk, potatoes mushrooms and eggs plus yoghurts, bleach and toilet rolls. I think that's it, fingers crossed and will use everything else from my storecupboard/fridge/freezer.

tut tut. And to think I come here for inspiration. I'm going to Asda on the way home from picking up ds, so if I over-spend it's bramble's and quintwins' fault by leading me astray.

    My shopping list is:-
    Frozen veg
    Milk
    Bread
    Fizzy pop
    *Cough* Alcohol *cough
    Maybe monsters and aliens dvd

Medsdemon, what does l/o and s/c stand for? I've tried to fathom it out but can't. Your spicy mushroom burgers sound nice, I love mushrooms!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

    hiya everyone :)

was planning on a no spend day ... but had to spend 90p lol ... shoved a fiver in my holiday fund too

had a pizza planned for this evening .... but i didnt have enough time to do the pizza dough...

so i have done a pasta bake instead, using the stuff that was nearly off in the fridge (half block of cheese, few cherry toms, 2 slices of mustard ham) and used a tin of sweetcorn thats been in my cupbaord for years :) (saved half for tommorow)
threw a bit of philly in there for extra flavour and i oven roasted my cherry toms before i threw them in (was feeling posh)

proud of myself for using stuff up, really wanna start improving on the amount i waste

hope you dont mind me joining this thread :)

    xx

Hiya kitty welcome to the thread. I take it you haven't got the free goodfellas pizzas then? Those would have saved you a lot of time lol. Your pasta bake sounds lush though, love roasted cherry toms. yummm.

Well, I'm very happy to tell you, that on my trip to asda I spent no more than I expected. The only slight problem is, I didn't get exactly what I was supposed to be going for. :o

Instead of the frozen veggies which I won't need til next week anyway, I bought some chicken goujons reduced from £3 to £1.25 and some sliced ham reduced to 50p from £1.25, which will come in handy for omelette. Baby Steps!

Oh and I bought some reduced pancakes, but that doesn't count as that's quintwins fault completely.
