Seeing that Ive only spent 50 pounds in dec on food I'm gonna join this little club;)
Monthly meal planner done.
Freezer- burgers, fish fingers, pizza, fish cakes, mince x4, chips and loads of veg.
cupboards- rice, pasta, sweetcorn,B beans, curry jars x 3, spag bol jar x 3, soups x 3, loads of crisps, biscs etc.
Fridge - butter, cheese, spuds, ham
All that will bring in 18 meals:)
that will last me till end of month.
Others to buy when needed - Bread, milk, butter, water
I'm liking living on a budget and out of the bits I have, it shows that you can eat well on little money without wasting soooooooooooooooooooo much food!:T0 -
Lipstick I'm typing this from bed, woke up 30mins ago.
Lynsey Lmao! Lasenza for you is it?
Edwardia I am finding that waitrose is actually cheaper for a lot of things over sainsburys now.
Took the last crossaint out for lunch, also need to start using.up the massive bag of pasta, so I'm going to use the nandos quarter and mix it with mayo, pasta and sweetcorn, that should do for 2-3 lunches maybe more, made the piri chicken thighs which were lovely but a bit small, the rest for dinner today, thinking of having meatloaf tomorrow with mash, that will clear some space.

MNR - I did a lot of walking the other year in the snow, live in a very hilly area, walking on pavements up and down hill in snows was really hard work, I do it when it snows and can't drive to the gym, give it a go if you get any snow, as the feet keep slipping back more it kills the legs!
Also LMAO @ Lynsey
Breakfast - banana
Lunch - teacakes
Dinner - unsure, will either be the pasta again to use the cheese or the last of the xmas snacks. Want to go to the gym later if there's no snow so will decide when I get back.
Welcome blueybug, that was a cheap December, half of what I managed to spend!
Edwardia - I picked up some Wessex Mill flour earlier in the year to try, was only really stocked in small farm shop type places or delis, so was surprised to read Budgens stocked it, maybe I'm missing out if they are stocking more local/smaller supplier foods..0 -
Ms_Night_Ryder I think you're right about Sainsbury's.
There was a gremlin Friday and Ocado on the Go wasn't updating (could have been the BlackBerry) but previous times I have been out with my mother in Sainsbury's and been really surprised because the Ocado price (generally same as Waitrose) for produce was cheaper than Sainsbury's.
ASDA is very often cheaper than Sainsbury's for organic produce too but they just never seem to have much. However organic lemons and bananas are more expensive in ASDA than anywhere else  I try and get organic bananas in Sainsbury's or Lidl if I can.
It's snowing here..not laying though.
Kirri, having lived in Canada I've done my fair share of snow trudging
This Budgens is bigger than a convenience store, about the same size as a small town centre supermarket. I have noticed local organic cheeses, apples and rhubarb as well as locally baked bread before.
Lunch is Cod Provencale using tinned organic tomatoes from the cupboard (Sainsbury's offer) and wild line caught cod loins from the freezer (Ocado offer) amongst other things. The Sainsbury's SO organic dried mixed herbs are really flavourful.
Welcome blueybag.. I remember blue bags, they may not have been used for laundry for donkeys' years, but used to buy them from local ironmonger when I was a kid for washing pale tails of ponies.£50 pcm.. Lynsey has some competition there !

I remember blue bags, used to dip the cats white feet in them before showing - where have they gone a most useful addition to laundry?
Just taken the last of the cooked turkey out of the freezer, all the bits and bobs, turning it into soup - should make a large pan full, I just love leftover christmas turkey soup. No doubt I'll have to freeze some!!!! - and just when I thought I'd made the smallest of small space in a drawer - oh dear0 -
I Googled and they seem to have disappeared but I did find something vaguely similar on Amazon US

Thanks Edwardia, had a look at the link, looks lke it's American.
Budgens are really good, a small family run supermarket chain, and they really do look after their staff, talk of them expanding I believe.
Gosh it's cold outside. Earlier, I was saying it's cold in the house but after putting the chooks to bed and coming indoors it feels really warm and cosy. Been raining most of the day, very muddy and soggy under foot at least no snow as yet.0 -
Kirri, with that suggestion, I assume you don't like me and want me dead? Lol that's exactly what will happen if i start trudging around up hill in snow, I love snow, but only like it fresh when nobody has walked on it, otherwise it becomes icy anf I get terrified I will fall and bust my head open, I'm sooo dramatic
Decided I Will make egg fried rice, have 1 last egg to use, I will add spinach and sweetcorn, made the chicken and pasta, several portions left.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Lol, no, maybe best you stay safe indoors
I just unexpectedly found it really good exercise, I was disappointed when the snow melted!
Am off to the gym this evening, forecast says no snow so will crap myself if it does while I'm driving.
Bit hungry, can't wait to get back and eat.. going to have the pasta again.0
