Been off the wagon for way too long, but am starting afresh for 2013!

Edwardia I'm sorry about your dog. Found myself in a smilar position with one of our dogs several years ago. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but I often feel a bit guilty that we didn't have her put to sleep sooner. I think that's harder to live with than if we'd have acted sooner. Obviously each case is different but you may want to think about things with the knowledge of my experience. I hope I've not spoken out of turn but I wouldn't like anyone else to feel like I do x

Lynsey you could take a look at plant sterols for high cholesterol. Healthspan sell them. Had a good result with my mum. Good cholesterol increased and bad decreased so make sure doc looks at the details of the repeated test. On the surface cholesterol can look increased.

Hoping that I can re-join this Thread and reduce my now 3 freezers, 2 fridges, several overflowing cupboards and an outhouse.

I'd daren't put my inventory on here, I don't think Martin allows that many characters!

  • Oh I've missed this thread! Rubbish week; my Uni decided to accidentally "fail" me for my nursing degree, despite getting a first. So the NMC refuse to send me a pin so I can be a nurse. Cue leaping on a train and running to the Uni Admin for hell to break loose. Also, my parents bought me an engraved iPod for the course which has been signed for... not by my parents but by someone else. Urggh.

Anyways, roast chicken dinner today. A little upset with ASDA; bought a chicken and when I went to cook it... it has gone rotten. This is one of many items I've bought recently which have gone off very quickly. Popped to ASDA to stock up on the 50p items; my bank work runs out the end of the next week so no more pennies until I start my nurse job... at the moment god knows when that is.
Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt! :D:D

Angela - welcome back first of all and secondly thanks, just ordered some from Amazon and cheap as they are changing the design.
    HERE
It will be interesting to see what his next counts are after taking even 2 months worth, actually maybe 2 1/2 months. Actually 3 a day, so 1 month.
Good luck getting back on track.

ms_night_ryder - well done on the weight loss. Xmas never took it's toll for you then. lol

NSD, but very short on milk and may pop to Sainsbury's soon, check for fruit and veg bargains.

Spent most of the day looking for a cheap phone contract and didn't do too bad, though this will cost me this time and not free. :(
I hate paying for phone contracts, been spoilt in the past. :D

canspendnomore I know exactly what you mean, dawg had a good day today for a change - looking much happier, no poo/pee, kept himself busy chewing his venison shank bone (free, inside the venison shank I got on offer) and under my feet every time I opened the fridge. I'm convinced he thinks it's his fridge.

Kitty_Ears I'd have had visible steam coming out of my ears with all that stress (((Kitty_Ears))).

katskorner that burger does indeed sound lush, like something off the menu at Carluccio's/

zafiro1984 I just imagined cartoon peas rolling around in the freezer sort of like this :rotfl:but less happy and green not yellow
  • Zafiro I thought I was the only one with loose peas or veg in drawers lol.

Morning all and no snow yet!!

ms_night_ryder - lots of veg and a nice selection. Hubby thinks "5 a day" is 3 apples and 2 bags of chips!!

Only bought 4 pints of milk last night (£1) and 7 tins of potatoes for foodbank (15p per tin). Not much reduced I fancied, though nearly tempted by muffins - still too much Xmas "junk" to get rid of, we got quite a few tins of biscuits etc fro pressies.

Beef sandwich with gravy is main meal. Not sure if I fancy breakfast.
I need fruit and veg either today or tomorrow, but hoping to wait until tomorrow.

    2013 food spends £12.70

Morning all. Can feel a chill coming, snow is on it's way, apparently.

Made my nice pasta bake yesterday with garlic and herb philly, chicken, last of the curly kale, sweetcorn and mushrooms. Was nice but plenty left over, so will be having that for dinner.

Spent £14 at Asda yesterday but only £1.80 on food, which was 3 red peppers at 50p each and garlic. Rest was on a lunch box for ds, a large pyrex dish reduced from £9 to £6 and a comic for ds.

Tea tonight was going to be peppered steak but going to save that for tomorrow, and buy some M&S black pepper sauce for it. Love that stuff.

Kitty_Ears - hope you get things sorted, sounds like a right nightmare!

canspendnomore - 3 freezers and 2 fridges???? Crikey! lol

Kirri - re: that banana. Don't say it out loud that you're eating fresh fruit, someone might think you're on too much money! :D

katskorner - I want that burger... yummmmm!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
