Cleared a lot out of freezer, fridge and larder :D

  • Hey all.

Had the last of the ham in a sandwich for lunch, went to Mr.t to use club card points, got a bag of salad, organic blueberries, a tube of fruit pastilles that are cheaper in Waitrose and 2 moam bars, nothing to pay, don't get much for £2.50 now a days lol, yesterday I had the last of the gelato, so there was enough space to put the large baps, used 2 cod mornays, last one for dinner in a sandwich with lettuce and home made sweet chilli sauce.

One more of litre gelato to claim from freebies, need space for.it first lol, going to get it next week.

Not sure what to have for dinner, might be chicken and.rice, that will free some space up.

We got given an M&S gift card for Christmas, so Mr.Kitty bought our nephews some chicken teddies for tea. OH MY GOD they were the worst quality chicken I have ever tasted! £2.50 for four! They actually refused to eat them.

Fish & Peas for dinner, finally ran out of the christmas food. My intention was to use up the ham my Mum gave me on Christmas day but it doesn't taste right.

Might pop to Sainsbury Ms_Night_Ryder, I do prefer their veggies & fruit to everyone elses.
Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt! :D:D

First spends of the year today, but only £3.54 on chunky Kit-Kats (4 + 4 free) for £1, some bananas, bread buns and 1st "whoopsie" of the year, a pack of 4 peppers for 63p.
Loads of meat at half-price (early), but walked away.

Highlight of the day was in proper M&S and seeing the leather bag I bought from the M&S Outlet for £14, reduced in main M&S from £59 down to £40. lol
The main M&S sale is cr4p!!

Finished off the lamb, so I need food tomorrow - hubby has made curry.

    Might need milk tomorrow.

ms_night_ryder - I'm itching for some Groupon credits and was just telling my Son last week about that ice-cream. Hope the 2 combine again (credits and offer).

    Sorted Scarborough booking mid/late March.

Evening all, well the food today was, brekkie toast, lunch sandwitch and dinner was left over beef from yesterday, sliced gammon, chips and salad.

I went to tesco this afternoon, loads of meat reduced. I got some stewing steak 60p a pack, pork joints 90p, stuffed chicken thighs 90p, cooked gammon joint only 70p had some for dinner put some in the fridge for sarnies and some in the freezer. Got other stuff aswell but can't remember. My freezer is completely full i can't fit another thing in. No more food shopping for me must remember i DO NOT NEED anything and don't have the room.

I need to find my daughters dental appointment card and make an appointment for myself for the doctor. I have been having alot of bother with it really every day and i struggle to walk much. I need to maybe be more firm with them the tablets they give me do nothing.

Lynsey lucky you with the kit-kats, i was in Tesco today and didn't see them but only had a quick look down there as have a stack of biscuits. Like my neighbour said to me one day you always have stuff, you're cupboards are never empty. I never hear her complaining when she has run out of something though lol.

Have a nice evening all, will catch up later or tomorrow.

donnajt - £103 on one shop.

I'm hoping to spend around half that amount in January.
Strange spending without a dedicated budget today, I was actually a little frightened to put stuff in the basket. :rotfl:
I very rarely shop with a trolley and that helps I suppose.
I'm still being frugal until the end of March and hoping to clear stuff. I'll assess again then.

just trying - good luck with that appointment - take care.

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!

We had a fab Christmas and are now back eating out of the freezer again as most Christmas food is gone now. The fridge needs a clean out though. We had a huge turkey which was beautiful and then provided sarnies, curries and a huge vat of soup which we have already eaten and that I wish we still had left as it was gorgeous! No waste though which is even better :).

NS this year so far but will need milk in a couple of days.

Last night we had salmon from freezer with stirfry that I picked up YS on 31 Dec. The kids had theirs with pasta and stir in dolmio sauce. Tonight they had fish fingers, chips and peas and we had HM chilli with rice and ciabatta squares with added frozen sweetcorn to bulk it up a bit. It was great after my run (6.3km, 40 mins).

We have a HM curry in fridge from freezer today for tomorrow evening. Not sure on kids yet but lots of options! Planning on taking them on a long walk tomorrow if the weather is good. That should boost appetites and tire them out too :D.

just-trying - so sorry to hear about your loss. big hugs xxx
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Since going organic in March my most expensive weekly shop was Christmas Eve, Abel & Cole, £82 so I don't feel so bad now about buying organic :)
  • Hoping to spend about a quarter of that, but my freezer is full.

Lynsey they only do.it in their quieter months aka winter. Lol at you being nervous about putting stuff in your basket, you done so well last year.

I need a fruit and.veg.top up, but it will have.to wait until Monday.

Taken some chicken legs out, will do some jacket potatoes for lunch with tuna and salad, will make a few and freeze, have a whole bag of spuds to be used.
