I have pulled out of freezer chicken, beef slices, sausages, bacon Veggie sausage and veggie bacon just hope nothing goes back in!!

Going to go to Marks and spencer and co-op at 5pm for bargains I have never got any ever before.

According to BBC, Marks and Spencer will be open to Midnight, so I doubt there will be many bargains around at 5pm.

I looked for gold crackers Friday in Sainsbos and they only had them in packs with red or purple mixed in. OH declared we couldn't have Christmas without crackers so he has gone to brave the high street.

I think it's a ploy to get out of cleaning :(

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hubby shopped and £6.02 spent most spent on cream and mince pies.
He did get some 10p bread stuff and cakes etc. So ice box is full of bread and scones. He also got some stir fry stuff reduced, so stir fry it is. Garlic prawn for me and garlic "veggie prawns" for hubby and Son.

Pork is taking it's time thawing and only a small joint (1 3/4lb), I'll have to keep and eye on that. lol

So no more shopping until Boxing Day and that'll leave £51.09 to last until 31/12 (6 days spends).

  • Well our Marks is closed at 5pm so we went at 4pm and apart from some beef slices and a pork pie that was all the reductions very disapointing and not worth the petrol.

^ Came on to say the same, what a horrible day and what a waste of time. I had so much to do today I didn't get to the last shops till late and went in both M&S and Waitrose which were shutting at 6pm and 5pm for a few regular things I wanted - couldn't get a salad and got the last pot of houmous. Nothing reduced (not that I wanted it), some shelves were bare yet some shelves had a lot of prepared veg still, why was it not reduced, will be as dry as by the time the shops open again unless they've panic reduced since I've got home but I didn't go to a main town centre that time so was hardly a heaving high street of last minute shoppers.

Didn't get a tree, couldn't even get a bit of Christmas foliage!

Thank f*** that is over for another year, I officially now really despise shopping. Got no money and no vouchers now, what a waste! Just got to endure Christmas Day now, roll on January :D

On the plus side I probably have enough food easily for January.

(((Kirri))) Christmas is a bad time of year to be without money.

Our first Christmas together we had ASDA SmartPrice turkey drumsticks for 99p and a rather dry n chewy nut roast using YS mixed nuts from Sainsbos and foraged cooked and frozen chestnuts. FIL gave us brussels from his garden and my mother made our Christmas pud.

There were so many nights of eating rehydrated soya mince curry/spag bog/lasagne/chilli con carne/Shepherd's pie and neither of us could bear to eat that now, I really think we'd be sick !

I hope that the tough times you've been experiencing fade into the distance and that you'll be able to put them behind you too xxx

Thanks Edwardia, I really struggle to compromise on food quality, I just can't do it! Hopefully get back into work in the New Year..

I've had another organic prize win today though so that helps!!

Kirri - I also wish you all the best in 2013 regarding employment and your finances, same to Lip_Stick also and anyone else suffering.

Well done on another win Kirri and your Xmas quotes have made me really smile and laugh even. Great character.

Doing the veg tomorrow morning, but pigs in blankets done - well sausage meat mixed with stuffing and wrapped in bacon (I prefer that way). Mixed a couple of Linda Mc sausages with stuffing and made balls wrapped around a piece of onion for Son.

Son did not like the Linda Mc prawns, says they actually taste like prawns even though they were done in garlic oil. Hubby thought they were OK and an alternative - he can have the rest. lol

I'm having a no pc day tomorrow - catch up Boxing Day - take care and hope all goes well.

Thank you Lynsey! I was going to say 2013 can't get any worse but then well it could but I am hoping not!

I would probably agree with your son - I always had a phobia about real prawns so couldn't even begin to try a fake one.

I've got vegan pigs in blankets tomorrow from Redwoods, never had them before.. got to remember to take them with me..

Back in the evening, friend over - hope they like the non Xmas look I have going on here :D
