I'm having a dilemma, up to £890 on yearly food spends so don't really want to go over £900
Also still need bits like washing liquid, few snack bits, salad, tree and PRESENTS...
Really wet here to bother going out though..
My sprouts are also still growing... would be a long, wet walk to get them..
Plus only have £35 cash and there's not exactly any more coming in..
All looking a bit impossible!!

Aww Kirri.. (((Kirri))) as far as presents go you could get quite a lot in Poundland. Seed potatoes for friends at the allotment, false eyelashes and nail stickers for girly girls.. for a friend, gift bag and everything they do from Simple = £70

Evening all.
No further food spends, so £9.08 spent today and £38.37 for the week.
£58.11 to last the year to come under £1200 or £358.11 to go out with a bang. lol
Only 9 days left to shop for the year and a couple of NSD's should help ........................ and I'm guaranteed 1.
All I need really is some more mince pies and some cream and I'll get that on Monday. Bread I'll bake, but might buy some, though I do have part-bake rolls. Milk I'll get tomorrow.
Easy day tomorrow and prep day Monday, preparing veg and making soup.

Evening guys.
Not eaten at home all Day today, had a greggs chicken bake for lunch, which i paid for, went to my grandmas and out for walk in Brixton to get her a phone, my aunty treated me to a chocolate muffin and a bag of crisps in m&s, had dinner at my grandmas of s bol, followed by chocs and clementines, LOL lovely, feeling way better, my family always cheer me up, also gave my aunt £5 for a tray of 15 Costco chicken legs, meant to be stuffed for Christmas dinner, but my grandma had no fridge space, so i am keeping.them as I needed some, giving my Aunty another five for crimbo ones which she will bring crimbo eve.
Going to cook tomorrow, haven't done so in ages, will do chicken, rice and veg but will make enough for only 2 portions as otherwise it will go to waste, christmas eve will be spent with my family and so will dinner, I can guarantee crimbo leftovers, looking at all the food we have collectively bought, will portion the chicken legs tomorrow for freezer.
Good news I have Bit of money so i can do a bit of whoopsie shopping if I please lol.
Kirri, I know how you feel, who do you have to buy for? So some suggestions can be made, quite a few nice books in poundland, would a tin of chocs do?
Lynsey we all know you can stick to the budget, if you can do 60 quid for 4 weeks, 9 days will be easy even if you went.ott on cakes lol.
There is also a national shortage on celebration tins, my cousin told me and I lol at her, went to Mr w and s and found out she was right lol.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Thank-you Lyndsey.
This thread is basically hoarding food as far as I can see in your freezer. I didn't fancy reading all 377 pages!
I have just finished watching the Hoarder at Christmas and has frightened the life out of me. Somebody please give me hard and fast rules on how to empty freezer or to stop hoarding. I am finding it really difficult at the moment. What's the best website where you enter your three types of food you want to use up and it comes up with a recipe?
I really don't want to eat out of date and freezer burn food. I need to get a grip as there is clutter all over our house and don't want to turn into one of those extreme hoarders.
Thank goodness I only have one under the counter sized freezer for a family of four. All the money you save on whoopsies means you must be loosing on electricity keeping your freezer going?
As always cutting back not cutting out.
hehe it can seem like some of us are all hoarders (i also have 2 freezers overflowing). the best way is to inventory your freezers and cupboards and meal plan from them. try to plan your weeks meals using these and only buy the necessary extras to go such as veg. set a budget like lynsey to reduce your spends. if you need help with meal plans ask on here or the oldstyle board. it may not seem like it but some have managed to empty their freezers x:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -

tree - do without or get a reduced artificial one, last xmas eve b&q sold their leftover real trees for a £1.
presents: poundland as suggested, home baking or craft gifts or do you have anything you can regift
poundland or value for the washing liquid.
shop at reduction time for your salad, snack stuff:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Kirri as chardonnay pointed out b&q or homebase, i got one in homebase last year for 5 and some decay for a quid, haven't put it up this year or last lol, still in boiler cupboard.
Got a Jackie Collins book, some drumsticks, a make your own birthday badge etc oh and a slow cooker receipe book, not the best, but great if needed, candles, photo frames, money boxes etc can be bought, could also get decorations from there, markets etc, can always bargain, a lot of sales have started, including my beloved body shop, some great bargains to be had there.
Please don't judge My Jackie Collins reading, I bloody love her books!
Check online supermarkets for all your snacks, washing up liquid, got some persil I. Mr s for 75p, also don't forget to check out all couponsLose 28lb 3/28lb

Thanks for all the suggestions
Tree - B&Q had barely anything left last week - tried to get a £1 tree last year but same then, had none on last day. Will do without, though having visitors the flat looks bare.. Was hoping to find a small potted one for about £5. (I have decs.). Went out yesterday to check independent shop I'd seen last year but had shut down!
I am only buying for very small amount of mainly close family, I can't afford to buy individual so more likely have to get something eatable they can share (plus although parents get me big pres, the rest only get me 2 things back from 10 of them anyway ie they give me a present from their family, I used to buy individually but got silly with price difference..).
So only parents, siblings/partners/adult children, 1 male friend (the most difficult, I have no idea whatsoever, minimalist with good taste ie hard work to buy cheap for..).
On the shopping side I can't buy/use anything with chemicals in as takes my skin off and the fragrances are too strong (also used to wash pet bedding so again fragrance is an issue) so only use Ecover.. but I do get 50 washes out of a £4.50 1.5l liquid so not bad. I may have to give in and use their powder though as can get a small box for £3.50 to keep me going. Don't think it's on offer at the moment as usually stock up then.
Same with food, I don't buy things with additives/preservatives etc for myself (ok for gifts as no one else cares!) which limits me hence I stick to the same budget and just buy less. Snacks may have to be limited to something like Kettle crisps etc. Just need to bulk out what was in the hamper. I do buy reduced salad if eating it immediately but this needs to last me for a couple of days so will need very fresh. May try M&S late tomorrow though not sure they reduce like the supermarkets? Also want more clementines but may go back to Asda for those.
Nothing left to regift, have ebayed most of my flat already!! Visitors have started commenting in surprise that it looks 'tidy'...! The hamper would have made a great present but I've started eating that lol.
To make things even more difficult, being eco friendly I don't like buying that might end up in landfill or just not used. I know money is the main issue here so again guess something eatable may be the best option though wanted to at least get parents something like wine. Will check books/gardening items in Poundland, good idea. Going to have a busy day tomorrow as can't get to the shops today.0
