Hi everyone!
I went out this afternoon to post my last Christmas card to the States, and popped into Sainsbury's and the Co-Op to look for goodies. I found a few reductions and the Co-Op, and it turned into my tea.
I found:
Reduced chicken breasts for 1.50 (from 3.99)
Broccoli: 70p
and a cucumber portion .20p
Breakfast was cereal
Lunch was early...cheese on toast
Tea: chicken stirfry using veg from the fridge (carrots, green beans), the broccoli and chicken I found today, and value noodles. Made so much there are at least 2 more portions!
Must clear out the fridge for the next few days since my bf arrives on Monday!~Steph~0 -
Hi everyone, NSD for me. I should be doing cleaning but I found a Toblerone OH had stashed and it put my blood sugar up. Don't even know why I ate as the chocolate is total carp.
My husband said he didn't fmnd having more veggie food so I got extra veg then the following week he moaned he wanted less veg so I cut back and so now the fridge is looking pretty bareI think I should just ignore the whinges and order what I think.
So he's got a tin of cassoulet from the stash in the cardboard box that was supposed to be for the weekend. From his shelf in the larder he gets organic rice pud tomorrow for pudding at work and Friday he's got a cute one person organic Duchy Originals Christmas pud which I bought weeks ago.
So much fuss for one day..0 -

hi all, missed a few days and looks like I will not have time to catch up so I hope you are all doing well?
Doing ok with coupons atm thanks to the weight watchers free meals subsidising my shopping. This won't last so enjoying while it does.
Still not got turkey yet but hoping in next two or three days. Wish me luck!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Lynsey - was watching something about the Romans the other day which said they would only eat one meal a day at midday. Anything more was seen as gluttony!
I think I could live on one meal a day ................. with snacks of course. lolkatskorner wrote: »Still not got turkey yet but hoping in next two or three days. Wish me luck!
Your butcher friend must have loads!! I bet he would like to "give you one".
No NSD, but only £1.22 spent on "whoopsies" and a till spit for 400 points when spending £20+ and hoping to use that with £3 off £20.
Bought:
1.5kg carrots @ 24p
Tricolour rice @ 69p
Warburton's loaf @ 29p (for birds)
Rice in freezer and hubby is doing a veggie curry for him and Son, probably Friday.
I'm thinking of doing Ikea tomorrow, they are supposed to be reducing stuff. Think I'll miss their breakfast and do a Groupon, so not much out of "stash" tomorrow - breakfast will be toasted tea-cakes again.
smegcat - wishes to all, hope all goes well.

Smegcat hope your hubby is ok , worrying time for you guys over xmas Im sure ..
Sounds like the rest of you doing well!
We have strayed off the moneysaving path I have to confess this week ... froze a couple of portions of things I cooked at the weekend, but left another couple of portions at work which had gone off by the time I would have eaten it , makes me  at myself for wasting food!
Back on the bandwagon yesterday tho as all breakfasts/lunches/dinners from what we have in (OH had fishcakes, sweetcorn and yorkshire puddings for dinner! :rotfl:)
Must get better at planning meals, I think its the time of year when last minute invites/meals out ruin even my best laid plans!
Im sure you can (and I possibly asked this before...cant remember!) but does anyone know if its safe to re-freeze the frozen quorn/veggie mince once they are cooked? I would assume the same as meat its ok as youve changed it, but just thought Id double check before poisoning us!
Dinner out later (OH may need to forage...) then tomorrow up until xmas eve finishing up our range of odds and ends ... gonna hopefully pop into shops xmas eve before closing to see if I can snaffle any good bargains!
Have a good day all!0 -
Morning all. Picked up my first cold of the season. Better be gone for Christmas!!
Had prawn and chorizo jambalaya for tea last night. Might have garlic prawns and salad for dinner, and sausages with lo casserole for tea. Will have it with mash I think.
Just need to buy whole milk for ds.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
