hello steph i'm from bonnie scotland too x
the mr t thing stems from people not wanting the stores to be able to google the store name or location in case the see glitches and fix them some abbreviate the locations or put # in t stop them from doing it. so you don't have to if you don't want to.
steph most stores do their reductions at least 3 times a day. if you are lucky you can get things 90% off at tesco sometimes at 7.30 -8 and sometimes closer to 10pm. depends on the store & reducer and how busy they are. your tesco may be a 24hr if so they tend to bin the leftover reduced stuff just before 10pm, so best to get there latest 9.30. it's just luck more people seem willing to buy when not much off, whilst hardened bargain hunters like me will walk off in disgust :rotfl:. best thing is to try at different times, around 5pm they also reduce but not as much as later. the sunday bargains mostly are referring to english stores as they have sunday trading laws and shut early unless they are a small store. as we have 24hr shops on sunday it typically is no different.
sign up for aldi and lidl's newsletters so you know when the best deals are to plan a visit. to save the most money you need to shop around for the offers. the mysupermarket link is good. most of the big supermarkets have value lines such as teesco everyday value and asda smartprice, these are loss leaders for the stores and compete to draw you to their store. most often the prices are identical, but then sometimes they start a price war on a particular product to entice you in.
hotukdeals is a good website if you search for grocery deals you can often find bargains worth travelling for x:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -

tomorrows plan is to have porridge for breakfast, then rolls with leftover ham + salad in them for my work lunch packup, then the pizza with some oven chips when I get in from work. DM will be making herself a corned beef pie while I'm out for her dinner.
using up cereal, bread (for toast) and rest of porridge for breakfasts this week.
planning to have tortilla wraps with l/o salad and dairylea for thursdays lunch, and same for lunch friday. another ham + salad roll lunch packup for saturday.
dinners undecided - probably waffles and sausages thursday night, and then yellow haddock on friday night. will have portion of pizza & oven chips again on saturday night after work again though as its simple and theres a lot of it to get through!
will check in again later in the week as will be doing a mini shop on thursday after I'm done with work0 -
Thanks Welsh Poppy the mincemeat ice cream recipe sounds really good. Will make some and try it on OH. I always find traditional Chris pud a bit heavy so looking for an alternative for the big day. If you manage to get your mum's recipe I'd be interested. Many thanks.0

Morning all, very cold last night and hard frost this morning which is thawing now.
NSD yesterday and only £2.35 spent this week so far, but shopping today and I'm making a list of just what is needed and will only buy extra if reduced. I will get £2'ish of stuff free from Tesco when getting more L'Oreal wipes. Probably buy bread from Tesco.
Need today - eggs, potatoes and carrots from Aldi. Frozen peas from Lidl if I'm passing, plus Linda Mc sausages if still on offer. Crisps and maybe nuts from B&M's??
This could be the last cheap week of the year, £20 - £25 would be nice.
We've got a Groupon or two to use up, hubby is on works "do" on Saturday and we've free tickets for the "Dogs" on Friday - free food and drinks if we go (see how cold it is).
Pork to cook tonight with sage and onion and veg. Maybe the same tomorrow also as pork joint is bigger than I expected - more room though. lol
We're dropping my Brother off at the ferry port later, so might try my luck again in the M&S Outlet.
Stay warm and hope all and their families are well, especially those suffering of late.

Hopefully I can make my sausage meat and apple plaits again on the cheap. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

It's colder than yesterday here, dawg didn't spend much time on his morning inspection of the garden
Anyone succumbed and broken out the mince pies yet ?
Tumbleweed will be appearing in my freezer soon, when Christmas is over it's getting defrosted before I start restocking...that's if we don't succumb to the Apocalypse on 21st December first.
If it looks dodgy I'll hole up in bed with the chocolate cheesecake, blood glucose be damned.
Hope everyone has a bargain buying freezer emptying day !0 -
Lip_Stick - normally some really great bargains, especially Xmas eve.
I could do with cheap sausages, getting low on them.
Next year with no budget, I'll buy all the great "whoopsies" at 75%+ off, especially quality meat. Though I don't need any pork chops!! I can't resist Sainsbury's offers though, always good quality.
I'm getting short on beef joints and steak mince, so they are also targets along with maybe chicken breasts.
No opened any mince pies Edwardia, but opened some nice shortbread (I was going to keep) for elevenses today!!
Temperatures not really picking up and another cold night ahead!!
