Hoping no more shopping until Friday or Saturday, unless I visit Sainsbury's late on. I want to spend £12 max the rest of the week, but want a couple of packs of ham from Lidl's half-price weekend offer on Saturday. See if I can sneak some cheap 19p chocolate in.

Manic evening this evening with school carol concert at church and toddlers Christmas party this morning. Bitty with food but got out pizza and spaghetti for kids and two pieces chunky breaded haddock out of freezer for us. Had it with pasta 'n' saucce and frozen peas (cooked them obviously lol).
NSD even though I did go in Tesco looking for the cheap Macallan but they had none. Would have made a brilliant gift. Oh well.
I am out for a meal tomorrow night after son's club Christmas party. Hubby will probably eat some of the chilli and rice left from last night while I am out. Not sure about kids. Eldest is still ill - croup (poor love is suffering).3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Needed something sweet tonight, didn't have enough ingredients to make a cake but had an out of date pot of Whole Earth choc spread with hazelnuts - so made a simple butter/sugar/flour fork biscuit and sandwiched them with the choc hazel spread - works quite well, good choc hit! May have to do more batches to use up the rest of the jar though especially as it's already out of date.
That's such a good idea, using chocolate spread to make HM sandwich biscuits, might have to steal that one! I sometimes use choc spread on pancakes - either ones I make myself, or 'cheat' ones, using warmed up tortillas - they make a surprisingly good quick snack or weekend breakfast.
Not much to report from my end in terms of store cupboard eating - bought nothing since Sunday except milk :T and on Monday there was so much food at my evening class's Xmas Jacob's Join that I didn't need any tea afterwards  and there were still plenty of flapjacks for me to bring home. :T
Then yesterday was treated to tea out by my dad :A so it's been a cheap couple of days food-wise - breakfast has been fruit I already had in, taken in some Ainsley Harriott couscous sachets that had been festering in the cupboard for ages to have for lunch at work - only one left though, so will need to invent something for Friday... will get back to you on that one!
Now trying to decide what to make for tea tonight... my house is freezing, so think I'll use up the last two Quorn sausages with some sweet potato mash, yorkies from the freezer & gravy, nice warming comfort food in this icy weather. Might even use up the half-pack of stuffing I think is in the cupboard & make it a sort-of roast dinner without the roast. Yum!Pax Et Bonum0 -
Hi all,
Still on track with food plan now day five.
Made some chocolates yesterday with some cheap choc I found lurking. Used some choc spread for the inners in one batch, melted fudge in another batch, and 'borrowed' a tiny bit of my OH best brandy (cost nearly a whole month's food budget money per bottle) for cherries in the last batch. They soon disappeared, think I may need to practise again !!! Lol will use up the choc spread with some biscuit dough I have in the freezer as it is a great idea Kirri. Thanks for that idea.0 -
Morning all. Another cold day but hopefully it's going to be a better weekend.
Had my puy lentils warm for dinner yesterday with mackerel, and drizzles of EV olive oil and white wine vinegar. It was actually quite nice. For tea I did my lo spag bol as planned.
Don't know what I'm going to have today. Think it might be chicken goujons. Got some beef and pork lurking in the freezer that needs to be used up so will do a couple of SC recipes next week to get rid.
Need to do a bit of shopping for fruit, veg, butter and cooking oil. Can't say I've scoffed any mince pies yet.... as I've not bought any!
Welsh Poppy - I've not watched the Aussie version of MC. Will make a point to do so though. This year's MC professional has had some funny moments, like a guy who made his dish look like a kid's picture, with grass, flowers and a sun! :rotfl:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

I am eating out of my freezer every day, and clearing fresh produce as going to friends for holiday period, but just doesn`t seem to be going down, had a cooked brunch as going out late afternoon, realised after I had eaten it 6 tomatoes in dish I could have used a couple of, so I will have to prepare them for freezer to use in a sauce, took lasagne out to leave in slow cooker for hot meal when I get back, tomatoes in ,,,,,no gain in spaceDo I need it or just want it.0

Morning all, just finished last Ocado order before Christmas to arrive Saturday. Got until 1810 Friday to do any last minute changes.
I've got two more orders to go for Abel & Cole and looks like I'll need to go to Sainsbos or local Co-op for Innocent juices and piccalilli
The internet is soo useful for Christmas shopping, I would be rushing round like a mad thing.
I saved 6.22 on offers this morning
Now for all the cleaning urgh0
