Morning all, quite a nice Winter's day here, it was cold last night though!!
Spent a few pennies yesterday on bits and bob, mainly crackers, nuts, eggs and fruit and veg.
Spent £8.75 in total and that's with a few coupons off!!
2 bargains last night, a 10p tub of single cream (300ml) and a punnet of nectarines reduced from £4 (they must be joking) to a more sensible 49p.
Those Aldi nuts/raisins/chocolate buttons mix looks nice and only £1.49 for 400g.
Would you think I was a "meanie" if I only bought a chicken crown for Xmas meal?? lol
The ones in Sainsbury's look nice and 3 packs for £10. They do a turkey breast joint in the same range, but the chicken one is more succulent.
Off to Morries sometime today to use up £3 of £10 coupons and hoping the Bottlegreen drinks (half-price) include the ginger and lemon-grass.
I think I've missed the rump steak offer, so will look for goodies and cheeses.
Toast for breakfast, Honey Clusters with yogurt for hubby. Not too sure of main meal yet .......................... but I've got some veg!!
Think I'll do steak and ale tomorrow??

Morning all still eating out of the freezer
Lifted a loaf of bread out yesterday but hubby ate most of it so also lifted a wheaten bread out that was breakfast, tonights dinner is chicken nuggets and wedges for the kids, hubbys doing a computer job so i'm gonna go with him for the drive with the kids, so they can have theres early, we'll have chicken goujions and chips when we get home, not sure about lunch yet maybe pizza and hm coleslaw.
I feel like i've done really well even tho i've acually only stuck to only eating out of my freezer for a few days, but every single meal has been coming out of there, am i the only one that feels eating out of the freezer is some big hardship? i don't know why i think that because acually my freezer has lots of nice stuff in it, i think it's the no shopping i don't like.DEC GC £463.67/£450

I would not think you are mean with Chicken crown....it is what you and family/guests enjoy.
We are going to be 3 adults 2 vegetarian and 1 meat eater......meat eater wants turkey steaks we got from morrisons with pigs in blankets.......so no large turkey for us:-)
Must look at chicken crown in sainsbury as seems a good price?
Breakfast was Crunchy nut(no milk) and coffee
Lunch will be salmon and cucumber sandwich for Hubby
I shall have sage and onion slice sandwich
Dinner is
Taste the diff chilli sausage, mash, sprouts and gravy
Mine will be the same except vegetarian sausage.
I have made a chicken and broccoli bake for tomorrow and a veggie version.

Welsh Poppy - I would look at the Sainsbury's Just Cook stuff if you are just buying meat for one. The turkey joint is reasonable and you can mix and match with other stuff to get 3 for £10 - gammon joint also looks good.
3 for £10 Range
Anyway, Xmas is still 3 weeks away ................................. today. lol
Sorted out a couple of ready meals for today - easy.

I wouldn't think ya a meanie for having chicken either Lynsey but Lidl is doing whole pheasants for 4.99 each from Thursday !
NSD here. I haven't felt like eating so been nibbling OH's cheeses and crackers.0 -
I kinda failed but kinda not..... I DID add to the freezer BUT only stuff that I know we will eat this week before the turkey has to go in so it doesn't count!! (ciabatta bread slices to accompany most meals heehee).
Today got out a portion of cottage pie for the kids to have along with the left over veg from sunday (but little one too ill and he only wanted tinned chicken soup) and leftovers in fridge for me to eat tomorrow.
Also got out a portion of chilli for OH and I along with a pack of 2 min rice and then a pack of the ciabatta I put in the other day (see I said we would use it..:)).
Hubby is going for Christmas meal tomorrow (even though he is actually still ill) so tomorrow night will be snack from freezer for him and meal from freezer for me. Boys will depend on how everyone is. Middle one should go back to school tomorrow I hope (been off since Friday with high temp) but little one is likely to need to stay home as he is nowhere near as well.
I have approx 4 days without kids before Christmas and loads to do and wrap! Wish me luck.
I also now have an added complication having HOPEFULLY avoided the bugs spreading through the males in my household - a compacted wisdom tooth which has decided to be on the move again -OUCHY! give me a break will you? tyvm3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Morning all, we never got the feared snow which is good.
Never got to Morries, but will today as I have to go and pick up my Wallis order.
Did spend 54p in Sainsbury's last night on reduced bread buns and a sausage roll which was not nice!!
I was hoping for a £3 or £4 till spit. Hubby would like the Jameson's (£15), but not without a till spit.
Sod's Law, but I gave my Brother the last one on Monday!!
I want a till spit also to get some of the Just Cook range, if still on 3 for £10.
The Amy's Kitchen ready meals were not good yesterday and the best I can say about them is I now have my space back. Still a risotto to get rid of.
Fried egg sandwich later with lashings of ketchup and beef casserole later/tonight - last of Lidl frying steak and won't buy that again either .................... God, I'm moaning today about food. lol
I'll be buying £10 worth of Xmas goodies/cheeses from Morries later for £7 with coupon and maybe some ice-cream. I'll be looking for cheapish cashews from somewhere, though Lidl and Aldi aren't too bad.
Hope all are well.
Coffee time.
