Hi all, not been on for a while as life has got int he way again. Hi to all the newbies and oldies! I hope everyone is well.

I have failed on emptying my freezer and we really now HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO EAT FROM IT or we will not get the turkey in! So I have to NOT SHOP FOR ANYTHING THAT IS NOT ESSENTIAL between now and Christmas. Oh boy, that is going to be hard!!!

Dinner tonight is pasta bake from last night and the boys are having beef casserole from the weekend that needs finishing up with crusty bread (part baked jobbies are ace) so that we don't have to freeze any of it.

Have a groupon meal to use by 7th Dec but not sure if I will be able to get a babysitter. Wish me luck with that as don't want to waste it.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

NSD so far (foodwise), but "bought" from Sainsbury's:

    1 x Litre Grouse whisky @ £14
    2 x Greek God's yoghurt @ £2 = £4
    1 X Welch's Rose Grape Juice @ £2.59
    Sub total = £20.59
    Coupons/points used - 2 x £2 Greek God's, £2.59 Welch's, £5 Nectar points and a £3 0ff £20 - minus £14.59
    Total = £6

I was going to save the Nectar points, but they've gone now on my "small" card - still £30 on the "large" card.

Mad I used the Welch's coupon there, but it had to be used today. I did get a Brand Match coupon for 31p as grape juice cheaper in Tesco - so gained a little. Also another £3 off £20 till-spit - they are trying hard of late.

The Greek God's yoghurt seem very good quality, got some more coupons (3), but messed 1 up. again.

Used a Tesco £3 off £10 in Morries and bought an 18 pack of Budweiser (£10) for £7.

Check out Sainsbury's tonight, hoping for cheap veg.

My freezers are starting to show space in most drawers now, but they were packed - too packed before and easier to open now.
I think if I organised the drawers properly I might have an empty drawer ................................ would probably be the 1st time this year. lol

Naan bread pizzas were nice again and that was with the cheap Tesco mozzarella.

just trying - nice to hear good news with the school.

  • Hey guys

Lynsey not seen any credits this week, used some credits I had to get another Icecream.

Freezer is emptying but was taken up by a litre of Icecream, went to Mr w spent £1.90 on purple broccoli, chillis and a bag of onion rings, also went to Mr s and got the yogurt, forgot my nectar card and was hoping for a till spit duh! Tomorrow.

    Hey kat.

Anyone who wants to get the yogurt better get the coupon quick, they have announced thousands have been downloaded on their fb.

Had onion rings for lunch, pork chops, rice, broccoli, cauliflower and peas for dinner, Icecream for afterward.

Yogurt has really long dates, mine is 23rd dec.

Hello all, hope you are all well and getting lots of bargains.

I'm doing NSD five days out of seven at the moment, getting one Abel & Cole delivery and one Ocado delivery per week. I'm also getting better at working out organic prices and spend £10 pw on organic milk, £13-£20 on organic veg £0 on booze, £10pw on OH's lunches but am getting to bottom of freezer before buying any more meat and poultry cos I need the room for Christmas. I'm buying Christmas stuff out of my budget cos it is fairly generous but OH still keeps eating the organic ice cream for Christmas  I've bought four lots now.

The plan is to empty and defrost in between Christmas and New Year and buy meat, poultry and fish on offers.

My mother is whizzing about so much with pre Christmas socialising that we haven't been shopping in Waitrose and Sainsbury's for about three weeks now. The freezer isn't going down as well as I hoped cos I seem to have loads of veg for soups and stews. So decided to defrost kots of fish at the weekend and do a bouillabaisse ..kind of.

Since I haven't been in a supermarket in weeks it's more difficult to post on this thread now. However week before Christmas OH has booked time off just so we can go shopping.

Used up chicken out of the freezer and couscous from the AF "mountain" tonight - tomorrow is mushroom risotto so not a lot used up but Friday will be steak and chips so that's a little more to be used up.

    Evening all.

No veg joy in Sainsbury's (they are not playing the game of late!!), but got a few bits and some ice-cream stuff.

    Bought: (all reduced)
Pack of Honey roast ham - 49p
    TTD Clotted cream - 49p
    Large apple pie - 39p
    Viennetta - 74p
    2 x Cornetto Classico - 62p each = £1.24
    Total £3.35
Forget the 31p Brand Match coupon

So some stuff to fill the freezer gaps. Worth looking in the freezers, they have been clearing quite a bit of late.

So cheese and ham toasties tomorrow for lunch and meatball pasta tomorrow night (made with mini-burgers).

I need veg, but trying to wait until Friday at least.

I've had too many calories today, After Eight mints, apple pie and cream ........................ but I balanced it out with a Special K bar. lol

ms_night_ryder - Groupon must be having a week off!!

You should check if you can use it for lunch and bring them with you, it's better than wasting it.

Ok no yorshires yesterday because i forgot i'd run out of eggs and didn't wanna go out for just eggs, we also had cabbage last night so don't want to do it again tonight so i'm going to change my plan abit and make mince pie, cauliflower cheese and roasties :)

Morning all, pretty nice day here.

Had toast for breakfast and not had an After Eight yet!!
Toastie for lunch and just part made the pasta bake - just need popping in the oven later and topping with cheese for last 5 minutes.

Not sure if I'm going out yet, but may try Tesco to see if the 17p tomato puree is back in stock. I'm trying to keep spends low this week and need to work out where to go with coupons.

Don't forget both the Greek God's and Thorntons coupons.

Today breakfast was 2 slices toast beans and 2 poached eggs.....tis my walking day (5 mile walk) so we have breakfast out.

Dinner will be sliced beef, mash and cabbage and gravy....I will have same but a couple veggie sausages.

I dont use facebook(Dont have account) and all these offers seem to be linked to facebook.I do feel alittle unfair on those that dont use it.

Afternoon all, well it's dry here but absolutely freezing. There was talk in the papers about snow on Friday night into Saturday they said a significant amount, hope not or i wont be going away this weekend so will wait and see. The thing is i can't be bothered going away but you know that feeling when you feel you should/have to. Food plan so far has been breakfast toast, lunch was cup-a-soup and sandwitch and dinner is going to be chilli con carne, rice and tortillas with dip. Welsh poppy know what you mean about the vouchers and not having a facebook account, i don't have one either i don't even let my 2 teenagers have one as there seems to be alot of bullying that goes on over them, yeah they moan but they tell me what happens and the police have been at the school about it so i think they are aswell staying away from that just now. Well catch up later.
