  • I still have to do an inventory of cupboards/larder and under the stairs walk in cupboard.
I have not bought anything and dinner today is the second part of the dine in for £10 meal in Marks we always buy 2(one meat one veggie) and freeze a meal each to have at later date.
I am making Hungarian goulash all prepped and in slow cooker just need to make dumplings and will have enough for 6 meals for OH.
I am also making Rhubarb sparkling wine and all from stuff we had in larder and freezer.

Must cut back on the amount I have in, after my grocery delivery my cupboards are bulging again. I thought my aim was to get things back under control.
So I have set myself a challenge - no shopping for two weeks, I know I have enough milk and bread in the freezer to last that long and the dogs have enough food so I'll just have to be creative with what is in the cupboards and freezer.
Tonight: pigs in blankets in batter - a sort of toad in the hole, with onion marmalade (not sure how to get very creative with all my onions, must have at least 200 of them stored. they should be hard and ok to use until feb/march easily).
DH always likes a pudding so it is bread and butter pud to which I've added some freezer mincemeat I made a few months ago.

Am still on track with the meal plan which is using up out of freezer / larder. Need to do a larder inventory but am a bit scared to :o as I know it is full and not sure I want to put it into a spreadsheet!

Not been to a supermarket yesterday or today so nothing new in shopping-wise. Could do with several things from Costco but not sure I want to go as it was heaving last week when OH went there.
  • zafiro - have to write that your pigs in blankets in toad in the hole sounds amazing and I may have to try it!

Last day of beans coupon, glad to see the back of it.

Gotten rid of most of the freebie items I gained, by giving it all away, split between my student cousin and my uncle a whole shelf of stuff and a huge variety, also my Aunty helping herself to beans and soup lol, will do a final box for salvation army in dec.

Still have loads of stuff for myself, will pick up the free thorntons chocs tomorrow and a few other days, finishes on 25th I believe and walk down to lidl on the weekend and vet my free.advent calendar, hope december is full of more freebies like this.
    .
Have been doing well eating out of freezer, did pick up veg, reduced muffins and rolls and mr k, 2 beans,ww meal and another bag of frozen berries spent £2.63 today and yesterday £1.53 on a 6 pack of ridges and half price philly, will get more of that.

Very sad that the pears have gone up in price, only have about 5 cans left.

  • Morning everyone :)
Was wondering if I could join in?
My fridge freezer & cupboards are jammed full & think myself & the family are getting a bit fed up of everything falling out when they open the doors so have said to myself I'm not buying anything apart from milk for quite a while but maybe fresh fruit/veg but only once I have used up what I have. I have loads of bread flour so will make the effort to make my own. I have started making dinners up & freezing them which saves me so much time after school & can get on with other stuff.
  • Hi :) Not been here in a couple of months after running down my freezer & cupboards completely with help from this lovely thread. I am back as we're moving house Dec 8th, money is very tight again for the next couple of months due to that and of course Christmas so will be eating what we have in rather than doing a lot of shopping - and going to look for YS items again when I have chance!

I actually filled the freezer earlier this month, went and did an iceland shop for the first time so between that and meals I have frozen, meats and veggies I think we should be OK but it may not be as healthy as we normally are - will be worth it to get in the new house, have a nice Christmas and not go into any debt because of it!

Tonight I am making chips in the actifry (thankfully we get our potatoes from my parents who buy a big sack from a local farm shop), mushy peas, and the last fish portion from the freezer for OH and a quiche from the freezer for me.

Morning all, a bit grey here but not too bad.

Love2shop - welcome and good luck, not that easy to clear stuff. Hope you have better will-power than myself!!

Welsh Poppy - making rhubarb sparkling wine, well impressed.

zafiro1984 - that toad-in-the-hole twist sounds nice, I'll have to try that - thanks.

lemmings1986 - great bargains, well done. I love to see people getting those.

ms_night_ryder - I think I'm also glad to see the end of the Beanz freebies. I was more pleased with the extra pennies off shopping when scanning at 85p and on offer. I'll get the Thornton's one also, some great coupons of late.

    Spends yesterday.
I did something I've never done in ages in Morries - bought some bread buns at full price and never used a coupon in there!!
    69p spent on bread buns

    Sainsbury's:
    2 x Heinz 5 Beanz @ 2 for £1.50
    4 pints 1% milk @ £1
    Croutons (reduced) @ 17p
    Sub total = £2.67
    Coupons used - 2 x Heinz (scanned 85p each) - minus £1.70
    Total = 97p
    Days spends = £1.66

I'll need cheese this week and some eggs and veg later on - hoping for reduced veg tonight.
Hoping the extra money off the Welch's coupons will reduce cheese cost.
I need to sort coupons out later and bin expired ones and use Matchmakers and Bertolli etc.

Had cheese on toast for breakfast, having burgers in bun with fried
onions and took out a quiche to have with wedgers tonight.

A little space in the freezers at last and hoping to clear more space by the weekend.

Sorting out 2 boxes for foodbank tomorrow, though 1 box will be Beanz!!
The foodbank I'm using this time is HERE, probably get hubby to drop off tomorrow as I'll be waiting for the carpet fitter.

 Who are you and what did you do with the real Lynsey??

    :rotfl:

Can't believe the amount of tins we have in our house of late! Mostly tinned veg of some kind, but there are other random jars too lol. All are sealed though so they'll keep us going through the cold snap. Plenty of mince in the outside freezer so with the tinned veg there will be plenty of hotpots and stews :D

Finished off first of two boxes of the Special K bars last night, getting quite used to the taste. :)

Need to buy more eggs over the weekend for cake making next week!

Will redeem Thorntons coupon this evening - theres a branch a minute walk from the train station, got 2 by using 2 different email addys, so will redeem the other one on Friday as I'm not working tomorrow. :)

Exactly, caught me out completely and at a weak point .................. unless I'm going soft.

Sorted my coupons and only 1 Welch's left!! I could have sworn I had 2 and even checked the fridges as counted 5 cartons!!
My mind must be going, probably why I got caught out in Morries yesterday.

A possible NSD as no coupons for Sainsbury's tonight (Welch's will have to be used in a bigger Sainsbury's), so will only buy vastly reduced stuff if any. Off to Tesco tomorrow to use up coupons.
Decided today that we'll be having a traditional Xmas lunch with turkey crown and pork. I had planned on using a leg of lamb, so will use that up maybe next week to clear more space. I already have a small pork joint, a nice one from Sainsbury's, so only need a crown.
I'll also visit Thornton's tomorrow, maybe even 2 shops and there'll be 2 of us to double up.
