  • Afternoon all

Using up some stuff in the house today - DM making dinner -had a half swede in fridge with black bits on the edges, this will be mashed and bad bits cut off and it makes a decent portion for us both. Four Aunt B's yorkshires, remaining 2 pork chops from freezer, and some greens - in our local budgens on friday I found a pack reduced to 69p - taken out all the nice green bits and the white heart stuff has been chopped up ready for feeding to our bunnies - nearly a whole bag! So essentially feeding 2 big people and 2 little people! lol.

Will be continuing to use up things this week, want to go and do a big shop enough to last us 3 weeks next weekend.

Not sure if I have done the right thing?
I've just resisted using a £10 voucher at Mr T with a minimum spend of £70 That equates to 15% off approx.
I don't really need £70 worth of groceries but should I have used it to stockpile? I have until 10pm tonight to decide.
That's a very hard decision. Advice please.

This is my downfall, when I have coupons like this i cannot resist using them, I have £4 off £20 and £5 off £40 in my purse for Tescos and £4 off £25 in Sainsburys, I think of them as free money and feel I have to spend them!!

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.
Apologies first for not welcoming Welsh Poppy last night ............... I must have ran out of ink. lol

Welsh Poppy - welcome to the thread and good luck with future savings. Was the salmon large tins??

Been painting today and all finished ................. thank God!!

Popped into Sainsbury's, but waste of time - I was passing anyway.

Got another 2 tins of Heinz 5 Beanz and 2 reduced yellow peppers @ 19p each. Extra 20p off peppers, so 18p spent today.

Missed breakfast, had a very large bacon sandwich for lunch and [STRIKE]quite[/STRIKE] a few sweets. Spag bol later tonight.

Took out tea-cakes for tomorrows breakfast and busy day, so have not got a clue what meals will be ................. something and chips I suppose.

pamsdish - well done. I found the Welch's juice in the chiller section.

Kirri - worth checking Tesco for the bird seed as it was supposed to be half-price (I think). We get my MIL a 20kg bag from a little local DIY shop for £9 or £9.50 and that's just gone up recently. I would buy the Tesco one all the time at half-price, but the Poundland one isn't too bad really for a small bag. I'm sure they were giving out the £3 off £13 spend not long ago, so that would help.
The problem is with a big bag is hubby will be feeding them several times a day - he tells me he likes birds.

5 weeks on Tuesday until Xmas and reminedd me of Soworried - hope you are well if you are looking in. I know how you were looking forward to the Xmas planning.
Take care and also to all those missing of late, take care also.

Used up the last of the bagels from the freezer for breakfast, leftover hm curry for lunch and some fish out of the freezer for dinner (also my lunch and dinner tomorrow).

Tuesday night will be soups and puds night so that will use up the oxtail out of the freezer (might have a portion or two to go back in though!)

Did go to Sainsbob's yesterday and got a couple of bits - ww meal for £2.60 and the coupon scanned at £2.99 and 50p off the golden crunch cereal but didn't have most things I had coupons for.

Today stopped at Al*i and got several things from the Super 6 so all good for fruit and veg plus got some cat food (one fussy cat who loves expensive food so keep trying her on other brands to see if I can find one she likes).

Also done a small appr*ved food order which will be delivered to my mum so won't pick up until next month - hopefully have some room in the larder by then!
  • hubby's off night shift from tomorrow am, so will be able to shop again:j. i'm having bargain withdrawals even though cupboards and 2 freezers are chokka. lynsey i may need your help making the coupon smaller but i'll have a bash -cheers. showed the beans coupon to hubby and he was like why do you want them you hate kidney beans :rotfl:. tis true i normally manage a few in chilli then pick the rest out. i haven't told him about the overage so might be able to convince him if i can get money off his beer:p.

if i don't like them i'll give to family or donate to a foodbank.

managed to get the 17p tomato puree exp 2014 got 5 and got 10 tins of everyday value tuna flakes for 24p each exp 2015. we normally buy chunks but then flake them up for tuna mayonnaise. if it's not to your taste would be good for food bank donations.

chardonnay - I open the Heinz coupons in paint and print A6 size and can get 4 per page turning page over and around. Some get 8 per page and reckon they still scan. I think I've printed my last dozen coupons, used 2 today (still have a few large ones) and finally call it a day.
I think they would be better done in a chilli style casserole, hubby tried one tin and dismissed them - strange as we've "bought" more Heinz 5 Beanz than anything else this year!! To be honest, I've abused the coupon to give the Beanz away and of course I've benefited from the extra cash back.

I'll probably donate 20+ tins at a time to the foodbank and friends/neighbours can take what they want. They should bulk out foodbank donations .............................. just hope everyone else donating doesn't have the same idea. lol

Morning all after a very wet and windy night!!

katskorner - great meat offers again, did your butcher friend not offer you a plucking service. :D

chardonnay - I saw those balti burgers and left them, glad I did. Hubby had the kebabs from the same range the other day and stank the kitchen out. Had to leave a window open overnight and then still used an air freshener. Still one pack to use up sadly.

Busy day and hoping to pass Tesco to try again for the tomato puree. I might get some more steak mince and reduce the cost with 5 tins of Beanz.
I've saved a little spag bol sauce to have with a jacket potato later. Hubby has cooked some sausage-meat and had a sandwich, still some left for later and looks like bits 'n' bobs today.

    Catch up later.
