Morning all.
just trying - lol, I am nice.
Great that you're putting that box up for your aunt, even little bits can help out. I need to get my MIL's Xmas goody box sorted and just seen the £1 Nivea coupon, so I'll get a couple of body lotions from Superdrug as on offer @ £1.77 - 77p is not a bad price really.
I need to tot up my spends for the week, but low apart from the Nestle Factory Shop order, which screwed up my plans a wee bit. I hoping that the Nestle order (£20'ish), last weeks small spends and this weeks come to around £40 - that'll leave £20 for the next 2 weeks to achieve that £60 4 week plan. This weeks spends will also take me over the £1000 mark, just glad I got this far with quite a bit left.
I wasn't going to go to Lidl today, but Brother want's a few things.
I don't really need anything today and will just look for reduced items. Probably pop into Tesco to check the cheap tomato puree and use last McCains coupon and maybe one or two others.
I'm going to ring the Church later and see if we can drop off a food parcel this afternoon - can't wait to clear some space those Beanz are taking up!!
I'm waiting for a new phone to be delivered, but by Yodel and they could come anytime ................... if at all today. Wish they had sent by Royal Mail, it would have been here by now.
Breakfast was a toasted tea-cake, just having soup and croutons later as not hungry. Took out a Pukka pie for hubby to have with chips. He's also having some kebab things, so a little more space.
Have a great weekend.
*** Chardonnay, max those Beanz, coupon ends Tuesday - grab what you need.

Breakfast was a cinnamon bagel from the freezer with a banana and some apricot jam, and lunch is left over HM leek and potato soup and cheese and crackers and dinner tonight is a large chicken quarter from the freezer which I have marinating in cajun spices to have with salad
I am hoping to use all my stuff up before going anywhere near a shop this side of Christmas.I did a shop yesterday after doing a stocktake and working out my menu plan for the next four weeks I am hoping that I will only need fresh milk and maybe some F&V.
I have quite a bit of long life milk I will use up first and several cartons of fruit juices in the fridge so they can count towards my five-a-day.I also have quite a bit of veg in the freezer to use up and some stock of tinned stuff from the cupboards so I have my fingers crossed that I can really go for it over the next few weeks and save a bit more from the clutches of the big 4 supermarkets:)

Pam- soup sounds yummy!! Off to make some in a minute myself actually - its definitely the weather for it!
Kate- welcome - its amazing how much this can help (note to self though you need to do what it does on the title otherwise I just end up buying every "bargain" mentioned and my cupboards end up fit to burst! :rotfl:)
justtrying hope you enjoyed your wine!
theatregirl - hope work gets less hectic soon!
Lynsey - as always , inspirationalI have actually prompted by this done a "foodbank - Shop" from my cupboards this morning so a few bits to be dropped off there!
Jackie-O your figures on your signature looks fab- well done!! I am another who cannot fit ANYTHING else in , but I do keep trying!
Croissants for breakfast , soup for lunch and leftover casserole for dinner, tomorrows plan is to make some cakes and a stew using up the last of the veg (for the stew not the cakes!) and some beef I got reduced in mrt's . Have sorted cupboards so I can tell what we have in and am hoping can get by on little or no shopping till xmas (though will probably need milk/bread) .
Also have a tin of chickpeas which I was going to try and turn into hummus if I can find a recipie .... am determined to be able to see clearly into my freezer and cupboards by xmas!0 -
Hello,
Can I join in I have been using what is in my freezer and larder for 2 weeks as need to reduce space in freezer and hoping to do this up til Christmas.
Although if a really good bargain I have been known to stockpile.....tins red salmon on offer in Mr M half price £2 at the moment.Weight loss challenge 66lb to go /59lb's lost
Grocery Budget January £150/£175
Feb £150/0 -
Not sure if I have done the right thing?
I've just resisted using a £10 voucher at Mr T with a minimum spend of £70 That equates to 15% off approx.
I don't really need £70 worth of groceries but should I have used it to stockpile? I have until 10pm tonight to decide.
That's a very hard decision. Advice please.0 -

I am finding that out
The reason I have so much in the freezer is that I cannot resist a bargain - was trying to run down the freezer last month when I stopped at a farm shop which was selling a side of pork for £70... obviously I couldn't pass it up even though OH is not that keen on pork :rotfl:
So now my freezer is even more stuffed and I need to find some space to batch cook meals rather than have joints of meat.0 -
Evening all, quick post as i have moaning kids as full of colds, though if you listen to my son he's nearlly dieing and is going through a ton of tissues (typical boy). Brekkie was toast, Lunch soup and dinner was chicken thighs in a maggi bag, fried rice and salad. Lynsey never managed to get the seed but i will keep my out for it. The youngonne i will defo enjoy my wine tonight as it's the right stuff !!. Well need to go now as being called. Catch up tomorrow now probably.0

The soup was best i have made in a long time, the sweet potato and haricot beans greatly improved it.:j
Not much today 50p on T.V. mag ,had a cauliflower cheese tonight, 2 portions for freezer, I like some of that tiny pasta in cauli to make it filling, sausage and black pudding ,all out of freezer with it.Homemade cheese sauce all store cupboard,
Cannot believe how little I have spent and my total includes 11 pounds on stamps.:)
Are we supposed to factor in ebay purchases,
Do I need it or just want it.0 -
Evening all, finished for the day, only a few small shops when picking up Brothers stuff and passing a few supermarkets. No real finds, but used a few coupons to my advantage.
Lidl:
Ginger nuts @ 29p
Rich Tea @ 29p
Dried Oregano 49p
Total = £1.07
Sainsbury's:
2 x Heinz 5 Beans @ 2 for £1.50
Pack of 3 cans sweetcorn (reduced) @ 73p
Subtotal = £2.23
Used 2 x Heins coupons (scanned 85p) - minus £1.70
Total 53p
Tesco:
5 x Heinz 5 Beanz @ 5 for £3
Pack mini stotties (bread buns) @ 65p
Dill cucumbers (half-price) @ 79p
Tomato puree (offer) 17p
McCains chips (offer) @ £1
Tesco mozzarella 44p (3 for 2) @ 88p
Welch's Grape Juice @ £2
Sub total = £8.49 (with multi-buys off).
Used 5 x Heinz coupons (scanned 85p), Welch's coupons (scanned £2.59), McCains coupon (50p) - minus £7.34
Total - £1.15
Days total = £2.75
Weeks food total = £9.41
Nestle shop = £19.78
Weeks total = £29.19
Last week = £8.07
2 weeks = £37.26
2 weeks left = £22.74 - not too bad and not much needed apart from fresh stuff.
I've done quite well these last 2 weeks getting extra money off with coupons which always helps to keep budget down.
I would have spend more today as planned on stocking up on tomato puree and chopped tomatoes in Tesco, but sadly only 1 tube of puree left - try again next week.
I went back to Sainsbury's to try and get some more Beanfeast at 25p, but the shelves hadn't been replenished since I emptied them yesterday. I'll check that again tomorrow and may ask.
Made a spag bol for tomorrow, so easy day. I'll be painting as I get my stair carpet fitted on Thursday and need to spruce up a little.
pamsdish - that soup does sound really nice.
just trying - hope the kids are OK - enjoy that wine.
Rang up the Church foodbank and they only take donations on Tuesday and Thursday (according to their answer-phone). I can't make Tuesday, so Thursday it is, I'll find out more then. Those Beanz are taking far too much space and I'll be glad to see the coupon end after Tuesday - could do with something similar though. lol
Sorry for the long post!!

I'd say no (but am probably in the minority on here!) - I even avoid the Ocado 20% off £40 spend unless I need £40 of food in one go which is not usually the case.. these offers only encourage people to buy more than they would need to spend whereas I'm sure most people would save more money in the long run by not giving into the temptation of discounted food that isn't really needed.
Lynsey - that bird seed was a great find at that price!0
