I've just moved house, and have very little in the way of food! Well I have plenty of meat in the freezer, just not much else to go with it, no pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, 1 tin of chopped tomatoes, some stir fry sauces and the store cupboard ingredients. No cereal either or veg (only 1 pepper and some frozen peas!)

I think I may need to go shopping at some point this week! Otherwise I'll be eating out again! I've had 2 take aways this week (one before move out day and the other on move out day). Oh well, Sainsburys tomorrow...
  • Have spent quite a bit today on Whiskas cat food but have 4 boxes. Also made use of the soup vouchers and stuff so not spending much but the amount of food I have in the house appears to be increasing!

  • Hi, please can I join in? I have three small freezers and they are all full to bursting. I want to stop spending so much on food and get on track for just having a reasonable stock pile rather than looking as if I am getting ready for some world wide shortages. today I will be eating frozen sausage goulash with rice.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all.

Yesterday's pizza was pretty nice and probably tasted better because of 2 for 99p. Would hate to have paid £8 (£4 each) for those!!!!! Definitely buy again at that price again though - should have bought them all.
I can get a 3 course Itilian meal for £3.95 close to where I live (cooked and served and no washing up). lol

Toast for breakfast and grilled pork chops tonight with veg (need sweetcorn still and get today). Bought hardly any meat these last few weeks and pile is going down - dozens of cheap Magnums taking their place though. Free Flora buttery is keeping costs down for a short while. ;)
Pork mince for spag bol tomorrow and either chicken breasts or fish for Friday.

  • Found three lots of mince in my freezer! Made Chilli yesterday, which I haven't had for ages. Loved it, and had three portions left for another day!

I'm failing, we have money at the moment, and i'm paranoid about running out of food in the winter (OH is self employed and a farmer = not alot of work in nov - jan!) so i'm stocking stocking stocking at the moment. I have 2 fridge/freezers and am getting to the need to turn the 2nd on one stage!

  • Great someone else who's like me. I'm on weight watchers too and I'm living out of my cuboards and freezer I going to see if I can go for 3 months. I order a veg box £12.95 from riverford and they also deliver museli yoghurt butter milk and eggs and I live of this every week and this is enough. they also do fruit. Ordering veg boxes is the best thing I ever did.

    Hope this helps
  • Morning all

We had pasta bake last night using up some LO chicken from a whoopsie roast to go chicken on Sunday, the can of campbells soup, some bits of bacon that needed using up and half a bag of SP penne from A**A.

DS1 and 2 loved it - I had a huge bag of breadcrumbs in the freezer that was taking up so much space so mixed some of them with finely grated cheddar and sprinkled it on top - it was delish and cost me about 40p (taking into account the soup scanned at 50p and the voucher took off 82p) - it was almost money-neutral!! :money:

Boys with their grandparents tonight so will have a scout around and see what 'bits' I can use up tonight
Anywhere is within walking distance - if you have the time!!
