October grocery Challenge
£131.50/£200 /£68.500 -
Hello all!
Was away from Weds till yesterday, we ate out for dinner today ,but back on the challenge tomorrow!
Have loads in the freezer, should be quite easy.
Planning a chicken dish of some description tomorrow - maybe Chicken and Chorizo pasta bake.
Lunches might be an issue for me, mostly because i am fussy and trying to be good, I think i'll have a cuppa soup with some toast or something along those lines.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
Debt payments 2012 £433.270 -
I got the voucher for the Campbells soup and got a tin of celery - I don't really like it as soup, but someone gave me this Amish tuna casserole recipe and it uses a tin of celery soup - basically you mix pasta, tuna, onion, celery, a tbs of flour, a tin of condensed celery soup, half a pint of milk and salt and pepper and throw it in a big casserole dish and bake for 45 minutes - then you put crushed tuc or ritz crackers on the top mixed with a bit of grated cheese. It is really lovely!! You can do it with mushrooms and mushroom soup if you want, and you can put chicken and or ham in instead of tuna. The kids love it! I didn't know you could print off more than one coupon so I will get more!!
Bought a chicken and some pork chops in Aldi and had some of the chicken for dinner - the rest will do packed lunches for the week ahead and make a pan of soup too.
I really need to defrost the freezer but it is full of reduced bread!Jane

Found a mini quiche in the freezer, so thats lunch along with a cuppa soup. Dinner will be chicken and chorizo pasta bake, i think!
Need to meal plan for the week ahead. Going to have to get some none food essentials tonight, will see if there are any good offers/reduced items as we're pretty flush right now so it makes sense to stock up if we can, as winter is really hard for us.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Morning all
I printed out a couple of the Campbells vouchers and took one along to my local @$D@ - the chelf edging said 50p for the chicken soup - it scanned at 50p and the coupon took off 82p :j winner...!!
Will take another one along when I do my 'big' shop (although doesn't need to be so big :rotfl:) at the weekend.
Mum gave me some belly pork and a couple fo huge chicken breasts at the weekend so no space in sight after all...Anywhere is within walking distance - if you have the time!!0 -
Just printed off the Campbells soup voucher thank-you for the link:D.
Not doing so good. Picked up some whoopsied bread at Mo**isons on saterday night so stuffed it in the freezer but will last me for the month for 27p---not bad:D.
Last night made Chicken Tikka Masala with the chicken breasts from the freezer which was delish. Will be making that again, so much nicer than even using a prepared paste, but lots of fiddling. Also made a lemon polenta cake and double choc cookies for snacks this week.
Tonight we're having baked potatoes with cream cheese and smoked salmon offcuts with the last few toms and lettuce from the salad drawer. pudding will be polenta cake.
Tomorrow will be spicy mushroom and chickpea burgers to use up the mushs in fridge and a can of chickpeas with H/M wedges and the last corn cob on the side.
Lunch will be L/O M/room soup for me and some fruit, a portion of carrot and coriander or spicy moroccan soup from freezer for OH and a chunck of cake.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
Grocery challenge December : £0/240.00 NSD0 -
Had 2 low spend days.
Sunday - 95p on another 5 bars of Lidl 19p chocolate.
Monday - £1.28 on 2 large pepperoni pizzas, pack of nan breads and a tub of sausage rolls and free Campbells soup.
Lol. Popped into Sainsburys late last night on way home and Guy was reducing large pepperoni pizzas to 99p. Picked up one to freeze and he said, "Get 2, they are BOGOF". Thought they wouldn't go through, but happily did - so 2 large pizzas for 99p.
Having 1 today for lunch.
Need milk today and fruit and veg is sparse.
Edit: just spent £1.98 on milk and 2 packs of onions from Aldi.
