    I've been Money Tipped!
Was supposed to be a "No Spend Day" yesterday but the car dragged me into Sainsburys car park, so just had to pop in.
Only bought a pack of turkey mince for 49p and made a spag bol yesterday with it for todays meal. Toast with jam for breakfast.

My freezers filling up again due to the Magnums on offer at Morries in combination with the £1 voucher (Unilever VIP - Facebook) - works out at only 8p per Magnum.

    Morning all

Well I popped into my local A and ended up spending £55  but that included some whoopsied fish to go in the freezer until I have enough for a pie (should have been £3.95 but I got it for £1), reduced bread rolls and an enormous lasagne (can't be bothered to get the mince out of the freezer and make one myself :o).

I'm envious of all the super bargains some of you report. I was in there at 3.40 and the shop was heaving - maybe they've caught onto people being in there really late for the bargains and they don't price them down too much.

There was a couple of bottles of wine in there too and the food should last us now til my payday (Friday 16th) and then I'm going to meal plan what I've got in the freezer and make a real conscious effort to spend *** all in September on food :rotfl:

  • Had a look in my cupboards and freezer last night and saw that my stocks had crept back up so I did a full list of everything and have just made a meal plan, which should keep us going for at least 2 weeks, meaning that I only need to shop for bread, milk, fruit, veg and dog food.

Today is roast chicken dinner (was meant to be yesterday but the kids were out for lunch and tea so I left it until today). Will use up the veg in the veg drawer. Packed lunches were chicken sandwiches and paradise buns which I baked last night so they didn't ask for tuck shop money!! I am just about to make a big pan of minestrone soup ( again using up veg) so I will have that for lunch.

morning all i've been stocking up :) i bought some soup and noodles and jam for the cupboards and a few freezer bits but i'm gonna really be stocking it up with fishfingers at some point this week however i'm still using things up, and if i hadn't have been doing this challenge i wouldn't have been able to stock up on the offer :)

today the kids have had an apple and banana each a frube and a slice of toast, lunch is tomatoe soup and 2 slightly stale rolls, but they like there rolls in there soup nice and soggy so they won't know either way, i'm going to have mushroom soup, dinner is chicken casarole with loads of veg (a whoopies mixed bag of casarole mix thats been in the freezer a long time) followed by some stewed plums and custard

We've just had stir fry using chicken out of the freezer and noodles out of the cupboard - so I'll be happy with that :p

Had toasted fruit loaf today for breakfast and took steak and kidney pie and chicken and leek pasty out of freezer for lunch - will have with mashed potato and peas for a simple meal.

Had a look in the freezers and sorted a little and pound a pack of rump steak and a pack of sirloin steaks, so a steak and onions meal later in the week. Found 3 packs of home-made wedgers that need using.

Need some frozen peas and sweetcorn.
