I have a £6 off £50 shop at Morrisons out of this weekend's Daily Mirror, but I do'nt have a Morrison's anywhere near to me and I think that Tesco take spend and save from other supermarkets don't they? Can anyone confirm?
going to make a big salsa/salad with the loads of peppers I have in the fridge for lunch - DD2 has put on a load of weight over the summer and when I tried her unifrom on her last night it wouldn't fit and I bought it new at the beginning of the holidays and it fit perfectly!! So we are going to have a healthy eating purge (although I am going to do it by stealth so she doesn't realise!). Tea will be hm pasta bake and salad, but I am going to substitute half of the pasta with cauliflower - not sure how that will work but we'll see!! I know that you can shred cauliflower and then steam it lightly for a rice substitute - in fact I might make chilli instead of the bolognaise and do that!!!
Cupboards are down to about half full and freezer is full, but mostly with bread and other "fillers" - will need to get meat soon.Jane

I got caught out like that once too often...I once bought uniform at the beginning of the holidays and their feet had grown a size and DS2 shot up by 4 inches
I now leave it as late into the holidays as possible now :rotfl:Anywhere is within walking distance - if you have the time!!0 -
hiya can i join in with this please? sorted through freezer the other day and couldnt belive how much i had in there and I had used stuff up that week! I have about 6 packs of mince in there but each week buy another one ! rather than defrost the ones I have which is (crazy)
so starting last saturday I have been using up what I have rather than saying I dont have anything in and buying something else. I have a chilli in the slow cooker now (smells lovely) I am going to write a food plan for the week and am going to do this I have loved reading this thread ! Thanks EveryoneDetermined to do better0 -

Good morning all
DS1 and 2 and with their dad for food tonight after school so I've rescued a pork dinner out of the freezer that I can ping when I get home - still no oven yet but that will all be sorted on Sunday and then I'm going to bake for all it's worth :jAnywhere is within walking distance - if you have the time!!0 -
Good morning and welcome to a new month and a new challenge.
Spend just under £90 out of a £100 budget for the month (£88.91) on food and groceries - so well pleased. A brand new shiny £100 budget to start with from today. :j :j
Stocked up with Tesco wholewheat pasta yesterday at only 22p per pack and bought some tomato puree, bread and some chocalate for a "special" treat.
Cheese on toast for breakfast and minestrone to finish off today. Sausages and mash for tomorrow, need to get rid of some veg.
Nothing really needed (unless Sainsburys have something silly tonight). lol
I like to be frugal in the 1st two weeks of the month and relax in the last two - so £40 out of the £100 is the fortnight target.
Going to sort out the freezers tomorrow to start getting rid of the "long-term" stuff hiding at the back.
Good luck all in September.

Iv really not done very well this week, went to Tescos on Tuesday and spent £72!!!! eek. In my defense about £25 of that was on cat food and flea/wormer treatments for my two kittys. I also bought a few beers and a bottle of wine for £10 and the rest was on food id completely run out of and fresh stuff like veg/salad/milk etc. Oh I also got a box of choccies as a birthday pressie for someone. Im counting it as my one big shop for September and will only buy milk/bread etc for the rest of the month.
I had a look on the reduced counter but although there were loads of stuff knocked down it was only by about 50p per item which was really disappointingI did manage to find some cheese reduced from £2.35 to £1.80 but thats all. Does anyone know which is the best shop to get some good bargains please? Iv read some people get stuff for 10p but I never find any bargains like that.
