    Doh. I spent some money.

Just went to Mr S as my mum wanted something that she couldn't get in her's but they didn't have it.

While I was there they were reducing everything - while I missed some of the best offers I got the following

    Scampi - £0.99 (from £4.00)
Massive pot of Coleslaw - £0.30 (from £1.25)
Mackeral Pate - looks nice! £0.20 (from £1.29)
    Roddas Clotted Cream - £0.20 (from £1.95)
1kg of Blackberries - picked on the way when cycling - Free

    Total Cost: £1.69
    Original Cost: £8.49

So dinner tonight is Scampi and Chips with crumble for pudding and pate and salad for lunch tomorrow. :D

    Time to update my signature.

I know what you mean about omelette - If they go at all scrambled eggy then I have to lash them, hence I don't make them very often!! That said - I rather fancy a cheese and red onion omelette and as both kids are out at their Dad's I might just make one for my tea!! A friend brought me a tray of eggs last week from the farm so I have loads of eggs, plus loads of red and white onions and loads of cheese from the last Tesco BIG2F offer!

Because there are no kids here today I have had a bit of bacon on wholemeal bread for lunch, however the bacon, which was on offer in Sainsburys (Danepak) was soooooo salty that I couldn't eat it and ended up giving it to the puppies who are now drinking like mad things and so will probably be weeing all over the place later!!!

I am having a NSD today but am going to go to Aldi tomorrow for sweetner and salt, and a chicken, but hopefully I won't have to spend any more on groceries until the weekend.

I really loved the idea of my omelette! i think the frying pan was also an issue in it going wrong. May try again tomorrow!

I plan tomorrow to go through the cupboards and be ruthless, if we're never going to eat it i will donate it to someone who will. I will see what lunches i plan out of the cupboard foods too, as OH is now fed up of sarnies.

  • Hey all!
Doing well on this , everything perishable in the fridge cooked up and frozen!! now have peppers, chorizo , 4 portions sausage casserole, chicken and chilli in the freezer- cupboards still overflowing with pasta, rice, tuna and tomatos which will do for lunches may need bread milk and fruit but going to try and last till next payday without any shopping! ....
tomorrows plan is soup and bread for lunch, maybe some cheese and chutney on the side!
sausage casserole or burgers and chips for dinner
chilli tues , pasta bake weds and thurs and chicken curry fri...
got some eggs so will make egg mayo and tuna mayo sandwiches all week and have cakes for desert (not for me as am trying to fit back into my jeans!)

I hate omelettes but LOVE eggs! They are yack!

Mr.Kitty & I have had a lazy day which has led to pizza and chips for tea. My excuse is "it's out of the freezer, it's fine" :T

Pudding is once again Aldi's microwaveable steam puddings. I'm pleased that this is the last one as I keep eating them as they are SO nice...

morning all not a very good weekend eating out of the freezerwise but not much money spent either,m fri we had takeaway bought by the inlaws, sat we wnet for a meal out because mil had won a voucher on the radio and then we had sunday dinner with them aswell, so basically they feed us all weekend except last night when we had pizza chips and garlic bread from the freezer

ikea do fab pans for making omlettes at 99p i love omlettes but i find you need to just leave them alone, i run a spoon round the edge to stop it from burning and i pop it under the grill to do the top so now flipping here then i add my filling and pop back under the grill for a wee minute then fold there always yummy :)

todays a nice wee nsd kids had toast and plums for breakfast (we have alot of plums right now) lunch is going to be noodles and tea is sheperds pie with loads of veg :)

    Phew...!!

I've just fininshed reading all of this since I started the middle of yesterday afternoon :T

I'd like to join please, if you'll have me...but I'm kinda handicapped in that I have no working oven at the mo....been without one since 9th August  - long story but a new one is coming on Sunday.

I am used to cooking on just rings though as we go camping a lot and the way I look at it is I also have a microwave and deep fryer that I don't have when camping so it shouldn't be too difficult to produce a decent meal...:rotfl:

I'm off to make a batch of curried lentil and carrot soup and will use a tin of baby carrots I have at the back of the cupboard along with the fresh ones - not sure how it will turn out but can't see myself using them any other way...!

I'll use a handful of sliced onions as well out of the freezer.

Will also take out a bread roll to go with it for my lunch tomorrow at work and a couple of croissants to eat in the car tomorrow afternoon / evening while my son is football training.

Have just taken out 2 pieces of chorizo and a coil of bacon (I strip the packs down into manageable 4 slice packs) so that my other son can make tomato and chorizo sauce with pasta (from the pasta mountain) for when we get home. I'm as guilty as the rest of you for hoarding tinned tomatoes and the broken freezer drawers.

My freezer is also soooo frosted up for the top drawer that the food is in there loose - the drawer won't fit in  I'm determined to get the stock down low enough to completely defrost it.

Sorry for the long post but I've been inspired by all of you guys so much

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just back from Sainsburys and spent £2.03 and came home with 3 carrier bags full of stuff. lol
Thought it was worth a try in the last hour on a Bank Holiday and they were reducing loads of fruit and veg to 10p and 15p.
Got some more pork mince (don't know why, got loads) and some more vacuum packed haddock fillets - both 49p per pack.
Loads of stuff, just had to walk away.

Some fresh cream jam doughnuts for 15p (twin pack), having now with a coffee.

ooo, cream doughnuts, yum, especially for 15p! ;)

With my son having his birthday over the weekend, and having a party on friday for his friends, and another one yesterday for family, my food and money and budget has all gone completely pear shaped! So starting again today with £250 to last us 4 weeks (family of 5!). I have lots of food in the house as I have visited Mr Morry twice since thursday (not like me, normally go once every 2 weeks). So the big cutback begins again! Want to save some money for Christmas.

Hope everyone has a good week, its a nice short one! :D
    mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊
