  • I'm starting the day with toast, lunch is a mini frozen pizza with salad and for dinner tonight I'm having one of those Wangchai Ferry noodle packs which has been lurking at the back of the cupboard since they came out about a year ago and were half price. I'm adding a frozen chicken breast to it and some courgettes/peppers from the garden. So everything is either out of the freezer, cupboard or stuff iv managed to grow in the garden:)

Dunno if this is of any interest to anyone but I love my slow-cooker especially in winter, well Argos has got one on offer a the moment, its reduced to £6.99!! it was £19.99 originally, it seems to have good reviews written about it aswell.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Pork chops tonight with roast veg.
Had to pay full price for onions today - God are they starting to get expensive!!!!!!!!
Got them in Lidl, but 69p per kilo is about the cheapeat around. I'll be stocking up next time they are on offer anywhere.
Had to buy sugar, oregano, garlic (39p for 3 bulbs at Aldi), half baguette (19p offer Lidl) and treated myself to 2 packs of extra trimmed bacon from Aldi (99p offer).

Big spend day at £4.56. lol
Forgot tomato puree, but need milk tomorrow or Saturday - get some then. Also getting a few Lidl half-price weekend offers.

I've started buying 2kg bag of onions from asda for £1.18. Works out at 59p/kg. They are a little on the small side but for the price I'm not fussy :)

Thanks victoria, I'll have a look. They'll do for pasta bakes/spag bol etc.
I was going to go to the market today, but something cropped up - usually get them there for 25p'ish lb (50p kilo).

I'm really enjoying this challenge, it's making me actually eat a decent tea (something with drives Mr.Kitty mad!) and eat a variety of foods. I went to my Mum's yesterday who gave me a load of frozen foods, M&S oven chips, Quorn tuna burgers, meatballs, burgers, vegetables and then my grandfather gave me a load of steamed microwaveable puddings! Popped to ASDA to get some milk, so food shopping has come to the grand total of £10, which is great.

Tidied out the tin cupboard this morning to sort out out of date and food that I actually don't like; my grandfather gave me a lot of ALDI tinned food which I accepted out of kindness... *blush* I'm going to give them to a homeless shelter.

Tonight's tea is going to be mushroom risotto, ASDA extra special! Fancy! Tomorrow's tea will be frozen salmon with rice.
Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt! :D:D

The risotto was actually vile, won't be trying one of those again! :( So, quorn tuna, chips and beans.

Nope! no peas! they've been on the shopping list for a long time ,but haven't got round to buying them!

OH bought home a huge box of runner beans from the year yesterday which we've portioned up and frozen.

Still not done a food shop, as not feeling great today, If i've got the car i may head to lidl tomorrow.
