    I've been Money Tipped!
Steak and kidney pies today (out of freezer) with mash and peas for lunch.
Possibly a stir fry again tonight to finish off the veg stuff. Running short of noodles, pasta and jam now - so looking for offers on those.
Had some toasted Morries fruit loaf for breakfast (on offer at 49p at the moment and nice and fruity).

Loads of gaps now, so splashed out on some Carte D'Or yesterday (only 74p from Sainsburys when using the £1 off coupons) - bargain.

afraid i'm not eating much from freezer at mo, bit hard to cook much with broken wrist, but saying that i have got some cooked turkey mince and veg from freezer, and having it with cous cous from cupboard. lunch will be a sweet potato, salad and cottage cheese, all bought from mr m's this morning.
didnt buy anything else tho apart from magazines, as only one hand to carry shopping
loves to knit and crochet for others
  • Found some frying steak at the back of my freezer this morning, so tonight is going to be beef, noodles, veg and chilli sauce. lovely!

taken some sausage, bacon and black pudding out of the freezer for a fry up for tea, with baked beans. Also made some bread this morning, seeing as I have plenty of flour and yeast just sitting in the cupboard doing nothing ;)

  • Got my sister staying for a few days but determined to keep downsizing my stock of stuff!! Lunch was burgers on wholemeal rolls (both from freezer) and tea will be chicken curry and naan bread - chicken and naan out of the freezer and I will make the curry sauce with stuff from cupboards. I did another inventory last night and found a load of cans and jars which were well past the best before date. I am not sure if you can eat them or not:

    Sardines bb 2008
    chestnut puree bb Jan 2009
    tinned pears bb Jun 10
    roasted red peppers bb Jan2011
    pickled onions bb jun 2009
Heinz sweet chilli beans bb Jan 2010

Would you eat or throw away?

    Evening all!

lifted some hotdog rolls out for dinner, and tomorrows dinner of honey and mustard pork kebabs with pitas for OH and pizza for me are also defrosting.

I've used up the porridge oats, butter and flour i had by making some hobnobs for lunches.

Got some new potatoes that need using, so will do a potato salad for lunch tomorrow i think, and lifted out crumpets for dinner.

Last night we had a pig out session and ate all the onion rings, and rostis that were kicking around in the freezer, making great progress clearing the thing out!

Quite proud of my tea, easily got 2 of mine 5 a day & it was really delicious. If anyone can help me I will be grateful... I only used 3 slices of the frying steak and have 5 left... how long will it be okay in my fridge? Only ask as I'm going away tomorrow for a night and I think I may want steak & rice when I get home!

ps - had to buy bread today, I wish our freezer was big enough for squeeze in a loaf or two!

  • I took tinned hot dogs & rolls (out of freezer) to work for lunch today with enough left over for tomorrow.

Tonight I finished a homemade lasagne that I lifted out of the freezer the other day. Unfortunately the reduced salad I bought the other day had gone off today so I ended up having a couple of rolls I lifted out of the freezer this morning. I also lifted some smoked salmon out of the freezer to make sandwiches for lunch on Wed. It's crazy I'm getting quite excited about that lunch!

I can't wait until Fri as it's payday so am looking forward to a massive shop. I've only budgeted £50 for my food/toiletries/cleaning stuff for Sep so I'm going to have to find a way to make it stretch. I don't really need to buy much as I still have quite a bit in but I want to do some batch cooking so I've got some ready meals.

I'm a newbie so if I do something wrong or don't do something please let me know so I can learn. :o
