I was talking on one of the weightloss threads about throwing out yoghurts that were 4 days after their bb date, as I am particular about what dairy products I eat/drink - wont touch sour milk and if yoghurt is lumpy I will just get rid of it. _pale_
Got a couple of people responding that they eat out of date yoghurt more than a month after the bb date; including one responder who talked about scraping the mould off the top of jam!
Made me feel quite scandalous for disposing of icky produce. Not something I normally do as we are quite good with our budget these days.
That's disgusting, must admit I don't pay attention to all use by/best before dates, but wouldn't use out of date yogurt.
Morning all.
Haven't really been keeping up on what's in the cupboards/freezers as last week my 6year old had a chest infection and now this week my 2year old has it and keeps being sick where she so chesty so it's been a case of grab whatever can be cooked quickly!
Hope fully I will be able to do a big stock take next week!
Take care all

Morning all, hope all are well. This "bug" thing is a nuisance.
biscuitmad - hope your little ones recover quickly.I haven't tried it in ASDA but went into T's & they wouldn't take it as it's not classed as 'baking'. The cheesecake, custard tart mix & lemon fillings all went through though.
That's crazy of T's as it's showing on the Green's site under "Baking with Kids" - I would imagine all Green's products should be classed as baking products.
The Green's full range has some things I'd like to try.

Porridge today and sausages in buns with onions and ketchup ...... yum.
Trying just to get by today and will visit a veg outlet tomorrow if I don't get cheap veg tonight. I need eggs and only £1.70 per dozen for large FR in veg outlet.
I need to sort those apples today, I'll make a deep dish pie and stew some and freeze for future crumbles.
Trying to limit couponing this week, but got a few that need using. I'll have to sort them in piles later. lol

thanks Lynsey, hadn't looked at the product range - never seen the scone mix before.
**just had a look through Green's 'where to buy' search & it seems the scone mix is only available through independant shops**0 -

I eat quite a bit of out of date food (due to past overbuying!) if it looks ok but wouldn't risk yoghurt! I normally bin anything mouldy too!
I did however, saying that, cut the mould off the veggie parmesan yesterday, grated it and will freeze it0 -
Hi All
Couponing shop was successful; although I didnt use the Plenty voucher, wasnt worth spending on that when there was a pack of two own brand rolls on the next shelf along for only £1.
Bargains today:
Cushelle loo rolls £2.18 - £1.68 after coupon
McV's Ginger cake £1.30 - free with coupon
Mini Battenburg Cakes £1.10 - 85p with coupon
Green's Red Jel mix 68p - 28p with coupon
Reduced green beans £1 - 72p after reduction
Did buy other stuff but didnt use coupon/reduction etc.
Also got a extra 13p off my shop as when the checkout girl put in the Ginger Cake coupon she put in 13p to begin with and couldnt cancel it, lol.0 -
Had a pantz day yesterday but at least it was NSD. feeling really down. Going to pig out on Kraft Dinner macaroni cheese - I know I shouldn't eat it, it'll probably make me sick but !!!!!!
Hope you're all well xxx0 -
Speaking of freezers - if you were going to freeze home-made fish cakes, would you do it before dipping them in egg and breadcrumb (and doing that when you defrosted them), or afterwards?0

Edwardia, hope today is better for you.
My day has been good so far, I received £5 from ebay because I signed up for a new account and £5 from living social because i registered interest, wasnt expecting anything from either so a nice suprise
Went to post some parcels and went to Mr t, got 5 beans, the airwick change colour candle £3.49 and a pack of fruitella and some organic plums 75p reduced, spent £3.85 or something used coupon for airwick, they sent me one for a birthday recently lol, don't even remember the date I put, tge candle is nice, I have 1 more coupon so will get another, this store didn't stock the nutrigrains, will have to go to my glitch store.
Went to Mr w, 2 packs of easy cook beef reduced and multi buy, q pack of sticky duck legs gressingham and reduced, really hoping they are nice, they look fab, a pack of reduced egg fried rice, a pack of yogurt sticks, 5 beans, reduced dark chocolate, a pint if milk and a half price pack of 6 butterkist popcorn £8.12 to pay after coupon.
Went to Mr s got 2 5 beans and the have Schwartz coronation chicken mixes down to 10p from 98p got 3 so 30p to pay in total, will put 1 in charity box and 1 in cousin and uncle boxes, I dont like coronation chicken, may get some more for charity box, but will see.
The boxes for my cousin and uncle are beginning to get exciting with the newer coupons and glitches, have added a quaker variety and the coronation chicken to both, when i get the nutrigrains will added 3 boxes to each, then top up the charity box, which now has more variety tooLose 28lb 3/28lb
