  • Evening ladies and gents :)

Fish pieces I had for last nights dinner were very good, will buy those again if I see them on special - I think thats why I got them last time!

Unbeknownst to me yesterday DM took 2 pork chops out of the freezer and we had those for dinner tonight. :) We still have the bacon up from my freezer dive in the garage, and the lamb pieces from that same freezer dive are currently in the indoor freezer, will probably have them Thursday or Friday.
Took a package of diced beef and the remaining piece of kidney out of the indoor freezer tonight, DM will be making steak and kidney pie tomorrow (although I wont have the pastry cos of the carbs) and that should last us a couple of days including her lunch on Wednesday since I'll be out that day anyway. :)

Just noticed your signature, what's the yogurtgate scandal?

    *giggle* :rotfl:

I was talking on one of the weightloss threads about throwing out yoghurts that were 4 days after their bb date, as I am particular about what dairy products I eat/drink - wont touch sour milk and if yoghurt is lumpy I will just get rid of it. _pale_

Got a couple of people responding that they eat out of date yoghurt more than a month after the bb date; including one responder who talked about scraping the mould off the top of jam!

Made me feel quite scandalous for disposing of icky produce. Not something I normally do as we are quite good with our budget these days.

could really have done with that 5 beans coupon - my boys have decided that they like them and want me to buy some more!

Did them fishfingers, five beans and super noodles at their request tonight. We have got burgers, ciabatta, prawn snacky things with salad (everything but salad is from the freezer).

Spend today in Lidl £23 inc beers for OH and a bit in Mr T used £6 coupon (they have half price trifles which are really nice so I got two as the boys polish them off far too quickly!).
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Spent another £2.13 tonight on reduced bits from Sainsbury's.
They had loads of bags of apples for 15p per bag reduced from £2.
Got some cheap finger buns also, so sausages and onions in buns tomorrow. lol
Sharwood's jars of stir fry sauces were reduced to 34p and possibly available throughout the country - worth a look.

  • Has anyone in this thread used the Green's coupon successfully on the Green's Red Jel in Asda? Thinking of buying a packet tomorrow if the coupon will scan at the till as it's only 68p (28p after coupon). Can mix it with some strawberries as a dessert after dinner tomorrow night.

Will also be my first attempt using coupons at Asda and having heard some horror stories I was just curious.

I've had no problems with the Green's coupon scanning.
I was going to buy the Jel also for topping cheesecakes, but waiting for a better offer. lol

  • I dont know, 28p isnt too bad :)
I'm still rejoicing over the travel size Aussie shampoo I got - £1.20 but with £1 coupon it was only 20p in Mr T's lol.

Going to be using a 50p Plenty coupon and a 50p Cushelle coupon tomorrow in Mr A's, along with the free Ginger cake coupon and a Mr Kipling 25p coupon :)
However if the loo and kitchen rolls are more expensive that the poundland around the corner I will skip Asda for those and go there instead. :)
  • Hey guys.

Had some nutrigrain biscuits for brekkie and lunch, some of the pork shoulder and the last.of the Mr w veg, sprouts, carrots and broc and a quarter bag of fine green beans, leftovers for.lunch.tomorrow, also I had the last 2 scones from freezer, so quite a bit used up, nsd today, didn't go out.

Will head out for a walk to mr t's using nutrigrain coupons, Heinz and whatever else I gave, will stop at.my fave Mr w could do with some f&v if reduced, will also see what offers they have and use the beans coupon.

    .

I haven't tried it in ASDA but went into T's & they wouldn't take it as it's not classed as 'baking'. The cheesecake, custard tart mix & lemon fillings all went through though.
