Sequeena - nice bit of "swapping", I would love a piece of what looks like apple pie.
I took a top back to M&S today and nearly wavered and bought some cakes, but must stay strong for this week and next!!!

Soworried - great bargains. I'm definitely coming your way soon. :p

miss_emmajane - good that your headache's gone - dood luck with any bargains.

I didn't do very well and need bread!!
Only got a pack of bread buns for 15p, a Pizza Express pizza for 99p and a chicken kung po for 89p. Also bought a packet of golden bread-crumbs for 42p and a treat - a packet of Sports Mixtures for 74p and a plant reduced from £10.00 to £3.99.
Oh, and 4 tins of Heinz 5 beans.

    Food spends tonight = £6.55 minus 4 x 85p coupons (£3.40) = £3.15.
    Total today = £4.14.

Took out some sausage for tomorrow and probably cheese on toasted buns for breakfast.

I'm still going to need bread and some veg, I'll catch them off guard tomorrow though. :D

I've just been searching for a cheese and bacon scone recipe for tomorrow and will be trying this one HERE

I'll probably have to tweak it a little and I'm using the cheap mild Lidl cheddar and the Sainsbury's cooking bacon. Probably miss out on the cayenne pepper though.

    Fingers crossed, but good reviews.

  • Evening all.

Been Picking all day and finally had a meal this evening, i steamed some rice, some of the organic spinach and the leftover veg, with a quarter of the jerk chicken, stripped the rest and added to the jambalaya meat in freezer, so thats, chicken, beef and sausage meat so far, may leave it at that and add prawns.

The chciken bones, skin, veg and onions are in the slow cooker as i type, making a nice stock, will strain and cool later, this time i will freeze straight away.

Not sure what i am eating tomorrow, may take out the tub of pasta, to have for dinner, then do mackrel pate for lunch, with either soe crackers of soe bread from the freezer, need to get my nails done tomorrow, coupons in mr t's, get my food processor and bits from argos and zumba in the evening, so a busy one tomorrow! tired already lol.

Off to take out some mackrel and the pasta meal both from the freezer, also going to pop into fmrfoods for some philly, thanks to jane, just spent £1.20 on mr s own brand soft cheese for my pate!

Do you have any mustard then? The cayenne is just to increase the cheese flavour. Mustard or chilli would do the same. You won't taste it, it just highlights the cheese. :D

Yes, got some mustard powder. Just won't be adding both.

Probably need loads as the cheese is rather mild!!!
Just hoping the bacon adds a nice flavour.

Lynsey - Make sure you get your bread tomorrow! Those scones sound yum, might have to make them before the diet begins (thoroughly making the most of eating for 2).

Morning all, woke up early this morning ..................... by the rain lashing against the window!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
    Had my 1st coffee already.

ammonite - I think my hubby is eating for 2 also ................... he's NOT pregnant though .................... at least not that I'm aware of.

Hoping the scones go OK, I'll bake around 11am.

Edwardia - that lamb reminds me of the leg of lamb I have in the freezer.
I'm seriously thinking of keeping it for an alternative Xmas dinner, obviously normally an Easter Sunday dinner.
Anyone had lamb for Xmas dinner??
What meat would you serve with it (as a 2nd meat)??
We would normally do the turkey crown with some pork, but really fancy a change.
Only around 16 weeks to Xmas.
I need to clear some freezer space ready for the great bargains. :D

 Lynsey, don't swear at this time in the morning. 16 weeks!!!

I already have 2 presents in from the grab it board. In the freezer I have enough cocktail sausages, Gammon and salmon to sink a battleship. I might just start to add one extra item in to my shopping each weekend so that I don't notice the outlay as much. I refuse to scrimp on xmas though, my budget will remain the same.

The rain woke me as well, it is so dark and miserable. :(
