quintwins - it is amazing what you can make do with when you haven't got "staples" in :D

Out: bag of rice x 2, 99p Morries' curry, naan bread, 1 packet of chunky chicken and a tin of soup.

In: Nothing. Don't plan to go to the supermarket until the weekend (never manage to stick to this usually!)

Slightly concerned that £200 of the £700 budget has gone in just 5 weeks. There are 20 weeks of the year left...that is £25 per week. I reaaaaaaly need to start eating what we have before I fill up the darned cupboards but bare cupboards panic me.

I'm going to make a concerted effort to make a dint in the huge amount of pasta we have from now until the end of August. Pasta salads are really filling for lunch and if we have no bread left then we have to eat pasta!

    Morning,
Suqueena that is a lovely photo of your little boy. x
Quintwins, after reading your recipes I am sure you will still be eating lovely meals. x
Lynsey, Thankyou, if it hasn't eased off by tomorrow I think I will have to go to the doctors.
Today I have pulled out 4x apple and sage drizzled pork steaks YS £1.48, TTD maris piper double cream mashed potato, YS 15p, MRT finest thyme and port gravy YS 20p, YS sweet potato 29p previously mashed and cooked. 4x yorkshire puddings home made but frozen extras.
That is a very lazy dinner and should be nice. I have some white cabbage in the fridge that needs used up as well.
4x buns have also came out to butter to go with soup for lunch. Breakfast, we have pulled out croissants that I will butter and jam if people want it.
Fruit again for snacks as we are still working through a mountain.
So lots will be used up today and nothing will go in as I am still not up to shopping.
I hope everyone is well and has a low or no spend day. x

Just as I post that it will be a no shopping day someone tells me that Morries has PG tips for under £3 for 240.

I wonder who I can talk in to going shopping for me. ;)

Lynsey - toasted hot cross buns for breakfast sounds awesome !!

...................... and cheap at 6 for 9p. lol
The Sainsbury's "Be good to yourself" ones are very nice.

Toasted tea-cakes for breakfast today ............... same price, 6 for 9p. Last pack of 6 and only 1 pack of hot cross buns left.
Cooked the mince for main meal (cottage pie) and just need to top with mash. Forgot the crumble mix yesterday, so I'll have to make my own and may add porridge.

Only bought bits yesterday food-wise, got 2 Anchor cream which were free using 2 x 50p coupons (cazj80, hope you managed to get some), a pack of Oykos for £1 form Asda and some Sharwood's noodles from Tesco for £1.85 - so food spends yesterday = £2.85.
Also got my L'Oreal stuff and bought 4 bottles of Surf from Tesco.

Need to find out what Lidl have this weekend (half-price) before deciding on hat to target for the week - don't want to spend much more than £10 the rest of the week. Either pizza and wedgers tomorrow or a stir fry??

Sequeena - great bargains, especially the platters.

Hope all are well and hope the back eases Soworried.

Still waiting for easyJet to release summer 2013 flights and hoping for some decent Groupons later in the week.

    Morning all,
No grocery shopping for me today. I really need nothing at all. Nothing 'out' for husband tonight as he gets fed after football and probably just a jacket potato and cottage cheese for me for dinner this evening. Not sure about lunch maybe a pitta bread and philly?

Hope you get some flights Lynsey - where are you hoping to go?
