I took out the last seabass from the freezer and a ys jacket potato with cheese, need to go and take out the spinach and a corn on cob.
I had another pancake lol, but it was all in the name of using up, i have had 3 apples in the fridge for a month and sultanas that needed using from Asda clearance, I did put 3 pancakes in the freezer, to stop me eating anymore lol, so i cut and peeled the apple added sultanas, vanilla essence and a teaspoon of honey, put it in the oven for 20 minutes, added the pancake to warm and ate it, certainly will be having it again. still not much space in the freezer, tiny improvement.
I have a Wrights bread mix has just gone ood on 7th Jul, shall I use it? Could make some rolls and freeze when there is some space lol.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Have fun Flo - you will be missed!
Those tandoori kebabs smell lovely.... very hungry now. Just spent a good 45 mins to an hour helping ds1 finish his homework project. I am so tough cos I won't do it for him and make him be neat so it was taking a while. But he did good.
hmmm thinking about what to cook tomorrow. Got lots of meat but no space to freeze left over meals as they always get made when I bulk with veg. Must have a think. Ohh actually remembered that we are going to a bbq tomorrow so kids won't need much - might give them cheese jackets from the freezer before hand as they won't get fed till 7pm otherwise. And that will take some bulk from freezer. We might have a curry / bolognaise from freezer later as the food is designed for the kids really. Will have to play it by ear.
NSD today :j.
Hubby has just told me we need milk, yeast and coleslaw and eggs. I know we need squash too so that is a tesco (yeast / coleslaw) and aldi (eggs / squash) trip at some point and cash and carry for milk. Could do with brocolli too actually. Oh and frozen peas... (aldi).
grr stuff doesn't last long enough! But I suppose there are five of us.
No more news on Nan yet. Thanks for your support.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Can't get the coupons to print on my comp.
Looks like they may have finished!!
Hope they come back as I want more, none of them are for us, they are for Son's hamper.
Bloomers?? lol
Yes, he's always interested what's inside those bloomers.
Went to Sainsbury's and bought:
2 x pizzas @ 99p each = £1.98
1 x TTD quiche lorraine @ 99p
Small tub of double cream (half-price offer) @ 29p (nice little offer)
Total = £3.26
Days total = £6.44 and not planned!!! Probably no Lidl meat (unless steak mince or meatballs), so not much more to be spent.
3 x tomato ketchup from Lidl on Saturday (for hubby) - I've got the Heinz ketchup for myself.
Florenceem - enjoy you little break.
EDIT: Marston's Taverns are giving a £5 voucher off 2 mains - check emails if registered with them.
Free drinks sometimes.

Good evening, I've had a couple of busy days, not really stopped, and tomorrow is looking to be as busy!
katskorner - hope your Nan is ok, it's not nice when relatives are ill, hope you get some good news.
Ava slept this morning until 6.15, so that's a bit of progress. She didn't have a nap today at all as we were out and about all day, so I'm hoping that she's sleeps longer tomorrow morning as well. But who knows...
We've had thunder and lightning here on and off all day, I got caught in the torrential rain this morning, and got soaked through, had to change all my clothes when I got home! That will teach me to always carry a coat, and not pay any attention to the weather forecast I got off my phone.
Today I made butternut squash risotto in the microwave, and used up the squash that has been sat in my fridge since 11 May! It was fine though, and it was one that I bought on a ys!! Haha Tesco!
Nothing out of the freezer today, but I did get some more rhubarb at the local Tesco express - 19p a box, so it would be rude not too, I've chopped it and frozen it. I also got a bag of oranges for 35p and two more bags of shallots for 25p a bag.
Yesterday we had our stir-fry, so that was turkey out of the freezer, and I used up the stir-fry pack.
I did see a bag of beansprouts in Tesco today for 9p but I resisted, as I'm having dinner at a friends tomorrow and at another friend's on Friday, and they would have gone past it I think by Saturday.
I must find a way to use up the spinach I got yesterday for 33p, I'm thinking gnocchi, does anyone else have any good ideas?
I'm not doing so well as trying to clear my freezer really..0 -
Morning all!!
There seems to be more food coming in than going out at the moment here! :rotfl: not wasting it but instead of seeing emptier cupboards they are going in the opposite direction..
Still on a mission to clear and defrost freezer- probably over the weekend if I can! Plan for that is:
Tonight: fajitas using meat/quorn in freezer and leftovers in fridge
Fri and Sat: Chilli using mince and veg in freezer
1 loaf of bread to come out and some desert in freezer also which can be used up!
May do sausage sandwiches for lunches as have quite a few of those lurking!
Rest is all "boxed" stuff (eg, fishfingers) so will last while I quickly defrost! I hope!
may also try and make a quiche at some point ... do you need real butter for pastry or would marg/stork of some kind work? (see the need for boxes of fishfingers now?....)
Have shopped tactically though and checked what I have in so my shopping compliments it - there is some stuff which will last till next year with the amount we have (pasta, rice , tortillas ) and others like meat/veg/ sandwhich fillings and milk I fill up on more often so hard to get a good grasp of monthly spends but gonna try and keep a log from this month for the next 6 months !
have a good day all!0 -
Sequenna, congratulations. I have only just read you are expecting x
Enjoy your trip Flo x :j
3x buns out of the freezer for lunch, made chicken mayonnaise to go in them with some lo chicken. Salmon steaks out for dinner for me and the kids, not sure what to make my husband yet as he doesn't eat Salmon.
Nothing should go in but I am off to Morrissions for the £1.80 cheese so if I see any bargins I will grab them as well.
It is actually sunny here :T£36/£240

I've always made pastry with marg/stock, and it's always worked fine. I've made pastry for cornish pasties before, where you had to put grate the margarine into it, but that's made easier by putting the marg in the freezer for a while before hand!
But for normal pastry, I've always just used marg, so has my mum and gran.

Morning all. Glorious day here... up to now. Don't want to tempt fate lol. If it's still nice later might visit the park after school. College have rang and told me not to bother going yahayyy. Found out the folks have gone on holiday til tomorrow. Been trying to ring them as I want to borrow an Oyster card.
Dinner will be the half the chicken breast that I was going to have for tea last night. Tea will be bacon, beans and a potato pancake I think.
Feel tempted to visit tesco, as I've got a £6 off a £40 spend voucher, a £5 club card voucher, plus vouchers for double points.
Soworried - where abouts in the uk are you? Not the north east is it?There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Morning'ish.
No breakfast, will be having elevenses at around 12. lol
Ham and cheese sandwich.
Tonight's meal just wants re-heating.
Weather was nice very early, but dull now - just waiting for the daily rainfall!!
Trying to be frugal today, should NOT have gone to Sainsbury's last night, but stuff I got will make life easier this week and next.
My Lidl meat offer is pork spare rib chops, which I'll miss this time round.
Had a dream last night where I won £5m+ on the lottery - checked my bank account and not in there yet!!!
If I do get it, I'll treat you all to a holiday. :rotfl:
