Lynsey - I looked at my Loreal vouchers and they are all stuff I don't want even though I ticked haircare (which is what I would want vouchers for!) Do they change every month?

They do update every month, hope it continues (cheap way to fill hampers). lol

You need to play around with your "preferences" - have a look HERE

Mmm my dinner was delish if I do say so myself! I cubed pork and cut up bacon, fried it off in a pan, added mushrooms and a tin of Campbell's condensed mushroom soup -it was LOVELY! So that's one of those out of the freezer plus a bag of rice.

Also eaten a box of chocolate chip bars which were YS'd and got another box out of the freezer. Thats the problem with YS sometimes, it encourages you to buy goodies and then eat them despite your good intentions! :EasterBun

    Thank you Lynsey!

I don't think I need to buy much meat at all this month now. I do think it's easy to get a bit "addicted" to buying reduced food though. I was in my local Tesco yesterday, and although I knew that I had hardly any room in my freezer, I still bought the two boxes of rhubarb, reduced from £1.56 to £0.25 each! though I did cut them up, bag and freeze them so they took up less room, but that's the expensive part of two puddings!

For tea today I had Italian chicken rice (a bit like a baked risotto), that was left from yesterday, but that did use half the chicken from a frozen chicken that I had to take out of the freezer to make room for lollypop makers for my little girls (don't know why I bothered though with the weeather we've been having!).

Tomorrow I think I might have some of the smoked trout I've got in the freezer (Sainsburys TTD reduced from £3.79 to £1.80), with salad, all reduced, from the local Tesco Express for lunch, then maybe make some meatballs with frozen mince for dinner, or the tuna fishcakes I have in the freezer.

Oh, and I also made some fruity oat slices yesterday, using some of the cherries I froze back a few months ago, and apricots, (a punnet for 50p). They are really tasty, just had one now.

The trouble is though that I don't want to use up all my freezer food, I like to replace it so that I then don't have to spend a huge amount one month because I've eaten all my meat the month before, if that makes sense?!

Understand that - replace "whoopsy" stuff with "whoopsy" stuff and keep the band-wagon rolling.

Not much to claim tonight in Sainsbury's, but bought a pack of yoghurts for 20p and a pack of apple crumbles for 40p. Also got another 2 Cravendales using 2 more 50p coupons - total just £1.69. Froze the yoghurts (lollies) and eat the crumbles tomorrow.

Sausage and mash tomorrow for main meal and perhaps bacon sandwich for breakfast.

    Horrible weather again tonight!!!!!

Morning all, hope all are well.

I've got a secret, but you can't say anything to anyone.... here, the sun is actually shining! Yesterday I got soaked, I had a waterproof coat on but the water was dripping onto the front of my jeans so the legs were wet-through.

Ended up go to McDonalds for dinner and spent about £20 at Asda on what seemed like nothing. Did get the Tin Tin dvd and a bottle of wine tho lol. Paid for something that cost 40p twice so got a £2 giftcard for that. Something had gone wrong with the whoopsies tho, as some were priced more expensive than the original price lol.

Hopefully going to see the new spider-man film today, and have nando's, depending on finances. Will check bank in a mo. Also need to buy something with the legoland offer on, in Tesco as lost my original b1g1f token.

cazj80 - welcome to the thread, hope you find it useful. I'm quite like you in that I don't like it when my freezer is looking empty. I actually think the challenge should be re-named 'I'm eating the oldest items first challenge' :D

ammonite - any excuse at eating sweets lol.

Sequeena - glad to hear people in your house are on the mend.

quintwins - have you got your mouth sorted yet? Sounds like you need heavy duty painkillers!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Some cheese buns coming out for lunch but that is it today. We are having carbonara for dinner and I have everything for it in the fridge.

I hope everyone is well x

Only glimpse of the "sun" I get is when hubby fancies an ogle at the page 3 girls. lol
    Pretty dull here so far.

No Lidl rush this morning - thank God!!

Get a few things later, might pop into Asda for some cheap double cream (if still on offer), get some bread and eventually get to Aldi for some mixed cheeses. B&M's is next door, so I'll have a look.

Easy day today - hubby is having full English, bacon sandwich for myself.
That'll leave 6 sausages for tea tonight with mash.
Apple crumbles also (49p for 2, not 40p typo).

Need to think about tomorrow, wait until I see if I get the cream first though.

    Have a nice dry day.

  • Yipeee Saturady I don't have to go to work.
We're off to the market soon and then probably a Sainsbury shop as they have Sheba catfood on special and spoilt little girl cat won't eat anything else. Hopefully that'll be it for catfud until we get back from our hols. We don't need much except fresh fruit and veg. I got a voucher from Sainsbugs for 5p off a litre if I spent £15 on toiletries etc, we need suncream and I have lots of loreal vouchers. I'm hoping I can pay for loreal stuff with the coupons and it'll still give me the petrol voucher.
cazj80 - I get nervous when my freezer drops as well. I panic that if I don't buy the whoopsies now they won't be there when I want them. Silly isn't it. I probably have enough in the freezer for several months especially as its nearly all meat, almost no bread, veg or ready cooked meals.
I hope everyone who has been ill is feeling better by now.:)
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D
