Mr F has not been on his nightly freezer expedition yet.
We had prawn curry, rice & pitta bread for dinner. Bit of a disaster meal - no naan bread and rice was overcooked while waiting for Mr F to come home with the dog. Still - it was empty plates.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Evening all
Had a nice tea with sis and ds. The venison was lovely, nice and tender. First time at trying it and would have it again, although not at the full price!Served it with bacon wrapped stuffing, Med veg and skinny fries.
Sis brought some fancy doughnuts from Greggs. Mine had strawberry icing with white chocolate shavings on top, and a strawberry cream in the middle. It was quite nice. Usually I just prefer a plain ol'e jam doughnut but would buy these. £2.50 for 4 different ones. A bit less than the krispy kreme that's just opened at £1.60 odd each!
Soworried - Someone told me Heron do the jus-roll quite cheap. Can't say myself tho. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Well done maisie, i seriously couldnt plan a whole weak and stick to it.
had the chicken for lunch and dinner, yum also had a satsuma.
just come back from my outing to m&s wanted to get a cake bar from their new range to take to my grandmas on sunday as a peace offering as i invited myself and cousin for dinner lol.
came out with high juice mango and apple, i buy it regularly redundancy or not i will always buy it, i got some other treats all came to £5.69 in there was a small whoopsie as only sandwiches were whoopsied, 2 of their cakes for 80p, just eating the bakewell now, its actually my fave and a lemon curd kind of muffin.
Then went across to the small mr s and had a look, got 2 packs of lean mince for 59p each a shepherds pie ready meal 54p for when i am feeling lazy and a prepacked italian bagged salad for 29p
was thinking of doing a chilli for a mexican meal as i have salsa and guac in the cupboards fro oep glitch, so the mince came at a great time and will top up the meat drawer nicely.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Well - today didn't go to plan! this morning DD2 refused to go to school and I had a dreadful time with her - this has been going on for some time and it is really stressful. She is not rebellious in any other way but she HATES school. She isn't being bullied nor is she behind with her work - in fact she has a really high iq and is on the gifted and talented list for all her subjects. I was so worried I just wanted to eat bits of rubbish and couldn't manage a full meal so I just picked all day. ex-OH came and took DD2 out so she ate at his, and I made a pork chop for DD1. I heated up some of the ASda microwave egg fried rice from the rtc and OMG the smell was something else! I couldn't serve it and had to take it out the wheelie bin as it was so awful. she had to have some hastily defrosted mash and peas with it.
Freezer is still full but with a few opening gaps (tub of ice cream almost finished, gap from the pork chops, and a tub of lambs liver which I got out for tomorrow).
I love liver and onions but neither child will even try it.
Florenceem - the prawn curry looks lovely - did you make it with raw or cooked prawns? Whenever I make stir fry and use cooked prawns they always end up REALLY rubbery!

I think I need to join this thread
I have a chest freezer rammed full, another freezer full, cupboards groaning with tins, pasta etc and cleaning products coming out of my ears. I think I could last months not buying anything other than fresh food, baby milk (though my son is 10 months so I will be weaning him onto cow milk when he's 1) and sanitary towels.
My son eats whatever we eat, always has done since 6 months but my mother insists on bringing baby food jars when she visits so I really should use those up.
Tomorrow's lunch will be wrap pizzas for me and the little one (OH is working). Not sure what to do for dinner, I kind of dread diving into the freezers! eepWife and mother :jGrocery budget

Morning.
Sequeena - welcome and good luck. I could also last months with buying fresh food - but still buy bargains - can't resist it. Have been very good for a week though - new stronger medication seems like it's working. lol
Jane - re prawns in stir fry - I cook my prawns separately (in garlic oil) and add on top of the stir fry on the plate - drizzle on the juice also. Stop prawns going rubbery as they only take seconds to heat through.
Hope your Daughter sorts it all out.
Off to Lidl in a few minutes and then back for breakfast.

Thanks Lipstick, I will see if the town has a herons as I don't know if it does. I rarely go in to town as we have Lidl, Sainsburys on a retail park closer. I am going today though as I am taking my daughter out for the day.
My son wants to go to friends house instead. I will report back any finds.
I have pulled out some coley today to have fish in parsley sauce. I will serve with mash and peas or rice. I haven't decided which yet.
I'm of course off out to Lidl in a moment as well. Saturday ritual :A
