Evening.
Florenceem - hope you enjoyed your few days away.
Jane - hope all is OK with our daughter. I know what you mean regarding the celebrations - it does seem to give a "buzz" - maybe we should have one every week. lol
Hope all are well, I'm off my food a bit and just snacking. Couldn't be bothered with the pasta and that will be tomorrow's main meal - stuff defrosted in fridge.
Shopped for Brother and picked up a couple of bargains in Morries:
Bag of apples = 25p
Organic carrots (1kg) = 29p
Baking powder = 79p
L'Oreal wipes = £2.00
L'Oreal moisteriser (50ml) = £2.00
Used 2 x £2.50 L'Oreal coupons and extra £1 off shop - only 33p spent when £5.00 worth of coupons deducted.
If you have any L'Oreal skincare coupons (£2.50), Morries is worth a look.
Sainsbury's:
Cravendale milk £1.00 - used 50p coupon = 50p
Macaroons from £1.10 to 10p = 10p
Small loaf from 70p to 10p = 10p
Large wholemeal loaf £1.35 to 10p = 10p
Total = 80p
Total for today = £1.13
Loads of salad stuff again and some more salmon, but left it all.
Plenty of bread stuff also, far too much and wholemeal loaf is 100% for the birds.
I've now got rhubarb, Bramley apples and eating apples to make puddings with, I'll do a rhubarb crumble tomorrow and if enough freezer space may make apple crumbles and freeze.
Nothing needed, hence just picking up selected bargains this week and baking powder is the ONLY thing I've bought full price this week and that was virtually free taking the L'Oreal coupons into consideration.
I don't think there will be any NSD's this week and obsessed on getting a few bargains, but will limit spending to a few pounds. I'm going back to Asda tomorrow to have another look and see if I can get some oils and other bits.
Hope the weather picks up soon, another dull Bank Holiday!!

Went to jubilee party this afternoon at my church and so much food there! I thought there was going to be a bit of cake but boy there was enough to feed the five thousand!
Watched the festivites and generally had a great time. Meal was however already part prepped so we are having it anyway! Steak and kidney pies, cheddar mash and HM cauliflower & broccoli cheese with garlic gravy. Was very tasty bit blown the cals budget today! Maybe we should have a thread for that!
Tomorrow the kids won't need food here as eating at my mom's. We will have something - prob fish and chips as I won't get home till 7.30pm ish. So freezer will need to deliver.
Shopped today and added to freezer 3 packs cod fishcakes, 4 packs jubilee cheese jacket pots, fish pie mix and salmon kebabs (all YS). Also added to freezer two quiches bought on Saturday (Better than half price) as planning to take one on hols and need a few fresh days from it once it defrosts.
Will be digging out bread on Friday to take away as well as a few more bits and pieces. Not planning to put anything else in this week. Only need to shop for a couple of things to take away so that is good.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

On a low carbs diet today had 2 plates of scrambled egg, oh had sausages left over from bbq and eggs.

Evening all. Ds seemed to pick up ok, he kept his dinner down. He didn't want any tea so I did myself Thai chicken soup, which he decided he wanted some of, then ended up eating about half of it. I would have taken a chunk of my cheesy bread out of the freezer if I'd have know ds was going to steal my tea lol.
Taken a chicken leg out the freezer for tomorrow as it's been in there a while. No idea what I'm going to do with it tho! Probably will roast it with some spice flavouring on it.
Need milk really but don't want to venture out tomorrow, need to do a load of housework and ironing. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Morning.
Lip_Stick - good to see your little one back on his food.
Breakfast not decided yet, but maybe bacon sandwich as packs of Lidl bacon in fridge and don't want to freeze as bacon already in freezer.
A cheese and onion toastie for lunch and pasta in blue cheese tonight with my lardons - really makes the difference.
I MUST start the crumbles today, I want to make scones, but they'll have to wait.
Another "grey day", sadly.

Hi all
Things are going well so far. Used up some roast ham from the freezer yesterday and have taken chilli out for OH and I this evening. Will take some meatballs out later for DS1 as they are cook from frozen. Have stuck to the meal plan for 4 days so far and have todays already out so happy with that.
Have started the 2nd purse challange and stocked up on the tesco burger, birds eye and biscuit deal so have added a few things to the freezer but some were things we needed - did birds eye veg as I was getting low on sweetcorn, and their country mixed veg.
Made some crumble topping yesterday so have 5 bags of that in the freezer. I make double quantities and freeze in single portions as there is only me who likes it. Used up the end of a bag of caster sugar, a packet of ginger nuts and some butter that had a useby of yesterday so that was good too.
tonight: us - thai fishcakes and salad kids: fish, homemade
wedges and carrots
[STRIKE]Monday: all - shepherds pie
Tuesday: all - roast ham,
roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese
[/STRIKE]
Wednesday: adults - chilli and rice, ds1 - meatballs, chips and veg, ds2 - beefy tomato and mash
Thursday: all - sausages, mash and peas
Friday: adults - baked camembert with hams and petit pains, DS1 - Pizza, ds2 - fish pie
Saturday: adults and DS1 - pizza hut (DS1's birthday so taking him and friends to cinema and pizza hut) DS2 - meal at grandma and grandpa's
Sunday: all - chicken wrapped in bacon with cubed potatoes and veg0 -
Morning all,
Well the freezer is full again as is the fridge so need to make a real effort to use the food in the fridge in particular.
The freezer is full of bread, I stocked up at Costco - £1.59 for 2 large loaves. Wish I had a freezer for bread only
Have used all grocery budget for the month including Costco budget. Haven't bought any meat for ages but we have lots and lots in the freezer.
It is now time to get inventive! The only thing we might need to buy in the next 3 weeks is milk and sandwich meat which I think I can stick to0 -
Morning all
Inlaws bought us chippy yesterday so todays dinner is beef casarole, peas and mash, i had egg on toast for breakfast, and lunch will be a pitta filled with lo creamy chicken.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Afternoon all. Ds has gone with his dad to stay at his nanna for the night. Trying to get some order to the lounge and sort out ds' toys.
Going to try and make Turkish red lentil balls with lettuce wraps for dinner.
Probably have spiced up roast chicken and wedges for tea. Defrosted two portions of chicken quarters (they are small) so will save one for tomorrow's lunch and have it in a wrap or something.
Really need to buy milk, and I've realised I need eggs since I want to make some choc brownies! Wouldn't have gone well without those lol,
Jane - how old is dd2? She won't get to the size of that girl as your dd2 seems to have good support , something that other girl lacked I think, from what I've read about her. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson.
