Hello all :-)
Well I refuse to go shopping and this is what I have in at the moment:
Food cupboard
Bread, marmalade, jam, apple sauce, tomato ketchup, 2 boxes of stuffing, honey, golden syrup, mushy peas, shepherd's pie mix, cous cous, carrots, creamed coconut, herb and beef stock, herbs and spices, mayo, salt, fry light,, gravey, spaghetti in tomato sauce, beans juice.
Fridge: Salad dressing, yoghurts milk salad cream butter cheese spread pickled onions
Freezer
Vegetables, 8 beef burgers, half a pack of diced chicken (probably enough for one, two people are max), cheese and onion rolls (the party size kind), and white fish.
There are two adults and two children in the household, though on monday and tuesday we'll have four children instead of two.
Any suggestions on what I could make as meals?0 -

NicoleWild - welcome to the thread - good luck. Have a look at sites like http://www.supercook.com/ to see what comes up with your ingredients - you'll be amazed at times!!
Done my shopping and bought 2 packs of burgers from Tesco - didn't realise the "Finest" ones on offer were frozen!! Anyway, was there so 2 packs for £1.40 using £1 coupon and 20% of Finest range. Got some free wipes with a £1 Flash coupon and some reduced light bulbs - needed one for fridge.
So only £1.40 out of food budget and could have used my £1.50 clubcard voucher ............... but forgot it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lidl:
4 x cheese slices at 59p each = £2.36
2 x burgers at £1.14 each = £2.28
SR flour at 52p = 52p
Lardons at £1.29 reduced by 30% = 90p
Total = £6.06
Days total = £7.46
Weeks total so far = £22.15
Only £2.85 left to spend
Had a brill week and loads of bargains and freebies - well pleased and cupboards, freezers and fridge bulging.
Need some baking powder next week and might make some more scones later.
quintwins - took your tip and froze a few lbs of diced onion yesterday - see what they are like. Done 2 batches frozen on tray and then bagged - see if Brother wants any and might do some more.

Thank you.
My virgin bill came out today so I have £20 left ... To do a weeks worth of shopping for *gulp*0 -
Right I have taken out some pulled pork, its enough for a meal, dunno what to have it with yet, rice or on a tortilla with a corn on the cob and green beans I think will have a think later, another container gone from freezer, need to take something out for dinner tomorrow, its either chicken drumsticks or pork belly as they are taking up the most space in the freezer, I'm going to take out a pack of sausages whoopsied m&s to use over the bank holiday, will cook them all in George foreman put I. Fridge and use as and when.
It's been a good few weeks since I've bought any whoopsies, I'm trying to hold out until after I've done my Costco shop, because then I can use whoopsies as a filler and to maintain the freezer levels and of course a bit of variation from what I have bought in bulk.
I'm off for a nap I'm really tired.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Evening all. Went out toy shopping with ds to spend his birthday money and some of those vouchers for the disney store. He wanted an iron man outfit which looks similar to one they sell at asda for £8 less, so he got that, an iron man mask and an iron man shooting thing that attaches to the arm. Not keen on the latter as I've a feeling one of the missiles will end up hitting my eye!
Went to Asda late in the afternoon, they had a few whoopsies that I would have bought, if I'd room in the freezer to store some. Just bought ds a dvd, and some honey, and alcohol.
Ds didn't want to stay at the folks tonight as he wanted to play with his skylanders ps3 game here, but i want a sleep in, so he's staying!
No bargains in the baking department but I did buy flour and some cooking choc to make brownies with ds this week.
NicoleWild - how many in your family does that £20 need to last for? There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Lip_Stick - did you see the Pirate suit on the Grabbit forum??
Maybe a cheapie for you?? Perhaps one for your Son also.
Had £2.85 to spend on weeks planned budget and was determined to spend it!!
Popped into Asda to look at the reduced stuff and got:
4 x Syrup sponge (tins) for 23p each = 92p
2 x Asda Delight (raspberry) for 11p each = 22p
1 x Date and walnut puddings (2 in pack) for 34p = 34p
1 x Pack of Rocky Road choc pudding (2 in pack) reduced to 55p = 55p
Total = £2.03
That left me 82p left to spend. lol
Passed a little Sainsbury's on way home and had a look at the bread, but only finger buns, so left them - did buy a bag of Bramley apples reduced to 44p and that was it - day finished.
Tonight spent £2.47 and 38p under planned £25.00, so £24.62 for the week and what ssems very well spent.
I need a couple of £15 week budgets to clear stash, but not yet, not until the second half of the year. £15 week budgets combined with NOT buying stuff for the freezer will certainly help in more ways than one.
Took out a couple of rump steaks for tomorrow and not too sure what else yet.

popped in Sainsbobs on the way home from FIL's and spent £21 (£6 on hubby's coffee...) but saved £7.60 in coupons so brought it down a bit. Spent £2.07 on strawberries in greengrocers for three large punnets of English - pretty good really. Also got till spit for 120 points if I bought two bags of coffee - I had bought three this shop (SP off) so took it to CS with my receipt and she gave me the points straighaway - yay!
Having moussaka and veg from freezer as need to clear space having just put in loaf of bread (YS) and 4 packs of cocktail sauages reduced in freezer section to 54p from £2.50 odd. Cooking one in the morning for picnic later tomorrow (possibly in friends house if it rains...). Bargain!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Hi folks, can I join your challenge please...
Kids away this week and got a collection of meals that should feed 2 in the freezer plus plenty of rice & pasta in the cupboards, so it's a good week to eat up what we've got and make some room in the freezer. Got baking ingredients stashed away too so could make up some batches of cookie dough and freeze that ready for making cookies for lunchboxes and after school munchies...am I being too optimisticNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries May 2025
