Morning all. Miserable here too. Shame as ds is celebrating the Jubilee at school today and they were supposed to be having a picnic.
I had poached egg on toast for breakfast as I I doubt I'll have time for lunch so that will hopefully keep me going.
Don't know about tea yet, depends how I feel later.
Had a payment today but want to start saving for my washer now so won't be spending too much in the next few weeks.
Lynsey - Let me know if you pick up any of the baking bargains, looking for some myself.Florenceem wrote: »Never heard of sun poisoning!
Btw, did you roast the cauli?Thank you for the link to the coupons thread Lynsey :T I can't believe I've never seen it before and gobsmacked at how many there are! :money:
I go in for a look but never find anything. I think it's a case of 'can't see the woods for the trees'. Thank God we have Lynsey!
Edit - Had an unexpected win through the door. A L'Oreal insider goody bag. The mascara, shampoo and conditioner will come in handy, shame I can't really use the hair dye. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Just popping on quickly, had a little fall off the wagon me and hubby shared a chinese last night it was £7.50!!! won't be doing that again in a hurry i thought if we shared it won't be cheap and as we both had rubbish days a nice treat, think we need to start using our old chinese again.
Went to tesco this morning for mil and only bought her stuff didn't buy us anything, i still need onions but i'm holding out til sat, forgot to lift beef out this morning so rejigging my meal plan and we're having mash sausages, mixed veg and gravy instead.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Lip_Stick - nothing of any real interest in Asda with the baking bargains - just a few 25p things and left them.
Did spot some organic sultanas reduced to 37p per bag and bought 2. Also bought 2 packets of Asda Delight for 11p per packet and used last 2 McVities coupons on 2 packs at £1.10 or 2 for £2. The coupons were put through at £1.10 each so 20p off small shop - total spend = 76p. 6 x McVities now in cupboard I'm grateful for, I would never have paid the price for them!!
Coffee and cake in Newcastle was really lovely, a great Living Social offer. Had a look at the market, buy seems expensive now and some stuff cheaper in the supermarkets - bought nowt.
Went to the "Dogs", had free pie and peas and a drink and left, pretty bad weather tonight and lots of rain.
Popped into Sainsbury's on way home and got;
Hovis loaf from £1.25 for 10p
Pack of flapjacks from £1.00 to 10p
Pack of choc cheesecakes from £2.00 to 29p
Toatl only 49p. lol
Days spend only £1.25 and again done well. No shops at all tomorrow.
Waitrose (small shop) never had the Vitalite, so no coupons used there.
Did get a pair of leggings from another M&S Outlet shop for £2.49 - only thin, but do for gardening.
£14.69 spent so far this week and just over £10 for Saturday - I'll get a few packs of quarter-pounders and some cheese from Lidl's half-price weekend and need some flour to make some more scones.
Veggie day tomorrow, I might have boiled egg with soldiers (lol) and a stir fry later.
Need to update my totals and have another coffee and cake!!

The Drawer Front was not £450 - the whole fridge freezer was! I think I would have gone apopletic if it had been!! lol :rotfl:
Small spend today of about £4 on food / cleaning things and £4 on beer in Lidl.
Dinner tonight for boys was cheating fish fingers, chunky chips and peas (all freezer). We are having chicken lattice with pasta 'n' sauce and peas (freezer and cupboard) so making the room a bit if we can again....
trying to keep low for June cos of going away and got to eat what we have to run fridge down over the next week - that'll be a couple of cauliflower cheeses then (yummy noms) and plenty of veggy thingys.. mmmmmmmmm
might get mince at the weekend though from lidl deal as that is always handy (although saying that the chap at the cash and carry always gives me CRACKING deals when I go in there because he loves me heehee.)3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Evening all. Bed for me in a mo. Decided to have the savoury mince from the freezer with mash, peas and sweetcorn for tea tonight which went down well.
Ds went to sleep a bit earlier tonight... yayyyy. Don't know what I'm doing for meals tomorrow, may treat us to fish and chips.
Thanks for the info about the baking stuff Lynsey, won't bother making a special trip. Mind you, may have a go at making a cake for the Jubilee.
ms_night_ryder - make sure you get all you're entitled to for your redundancy, e.g. pay in lieu, holiday etc. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. Thanks lip stick, I have calculated what I'm expecting, so they better match up, we switched companies, so we were all put on emergency tax, so have to send in p45 pretty sharpish.
Now i fancy mash and mixed veg, will have that with meatballs in tommy sauce, yum.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Morning all. Ds is refusing to get out of bed... despite him, an hour ago messing about in my bed and waking me up.
Don't know whether to do a big shop for the schools hols today, or leave it til next week. Mind you, think there's a sainsbobs £10 off £50 voucher knocking about, may try them.
Dinner will probably be miso soup and an apple. Tea, perhaps takeaway. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Morning.
Lip_Stick - check your Asda for the baking bargains, the BBD was low and probably the reason for the reductions - each store will be different depending on stock levels and you may get lucky. The sultanas were a bargain at 37p (75% off). Use your Anchor and McVities coupons there for best value.
Definitely "chucky eggs" for breakfast and stir fry later and out tonight helping a friend, so just snack as and when - got my cakes to finish lol
katskorner - hope you get the weather for your holiday, we would love to holiday on the south coast, another area which looks great when flying over - sadly petrol costs would make it too expensive - cheaper to fly to Spain etc!!!
Fuel costs must stop a lot of people travelling far now for breaks/holidays and what a shame.
Some of my tomato plants are starting to ripen, see a change in colour - hopefully a tomato or two shortly!!

Morning all, going to have to grab bread today, we'll have soup and bread for tea as i have no spuds left and hubby wouldn't be keen on pasta twice in one day.
Tomorrow i need milk, lollys, taties, coleslaw and garlic bread, going to try a cheaper sack of spuds from the fruit and veg shop in town i think, that will see me threw the week.
todays meals look like
Breakfast- ready break
Lunch- pasta
dinner-soup and bread, with custard and fruit for pudding.DEC GC £463.67/£450
