eveing all been out tonugt and can hardly see struight, haven't had much to drink dont know f a drink was spiked. trying to suop water at the mo. feel shakey and weird. or maybe it's yesterdays indian taking its toll.

bed soon for me in mo,,, vert tired,. not sure about what im doing for meals tomorrow, or anything erlse

This doesn't sound great, hope you feel better today:)

We've got sun here at the moment :T I think its the first time I've ever known them to predict rain on a bank holiday and be wrong.

DH has gone off to work as they don't get bank holidays. I've no idea what we're eating for meals today.
Yesterday was a non starter for using up things. We went to Stoke for the portmeirion sale and had fish and chips for lunch so just had some cheese and crackers last night and some watermelon which we bought at the market on Sat. I was surprised how nice it was as I find they're generally more miss than hit. There's more than half still in the fridge so I guess that has to feature somewhere today.
On the very plus side - by buying in bulk on special offers I think I've got the cost of moggie food down below £100 a month whithout changing what they eat:T

Morning all - really interesting reading about the carbs - I'm afraid I'm a bit of a carb junkie - my favourite things are bread and pasta (though in fairness don't have them all the time - though can't imagine life without them!!). Anyway, I have finally got a whole empty drawer in my freezer (my meat delivery is coming on 10th so it will be full again!!) but today I have taken out a hm quiche for lunch and some chicken breasts for tea, and am off to take a few slices of lemon cake out for a treat with coffee this afternoon - I froze it in individual slices last time I baked so it shouldn't take too long to defrost. Have a good day everyone!!!
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

    Watermelon salsa:

    Ingredients:
    1/4 watermelon, diced and deseeded
    1/2 red onion, finely chopped
    Small bunch of chopped mint
    1-2 tbsps Red wine vinegar
1/2 green chilli (or a dried one)

    Method:
Am sure you can work it out :rotfl:

Absolutely gorgeous :), especially with barbecued meat, sausages etc.

Non nom nom, I'm making a load today with a split watermelon reduced to £1.10 in Asda :)

  • Lip-Stick hope your feeling better later. This is my 4th nsd, so i am feeling very pleased with myself, am going out, but not intending spending. Tonight I am going to make a TITH, as we have leftover sausages in fridge and loads of batter mix in pantry. I have never made this b4, but seems popular on this site. Happy bank holiday everyone.

    Morning all.

Got in at 3:15 Am and woke up just after 9 so I'm not best pleased, will try and have a nap during the day, I have zumba tonight.

Contemplating having a yogurt but probably wont, i am going to take out 2 muffins and have cheese/bacon muffins, depending on what i fancy, yesterday I took out the chicken cola drumsticks, 5 in a pack ys from Mr s, will have that with the remainder of the cabbage, green beans and carrots and do some basmati rice, which I haven't had in ages, I love rice, also if i can be bothered I will make a cheesy coleslaw, will be eating out all day tomorrow, so chicken will last until Wednesday.

So tomorrow I'm out doing my ms work, which includes going to visit 3 sandwich shops and buying stuff, I will have lunch, but i will bring the other stuff home, then I have kickboxing, my friend usually gives me a sandwich and loads if apples and boxes of juice, so that will be good.
Thanks for the tip on freezing cake individually, I wouldnt gave thought of that.

Oooh that sound good, I'll have a try. I've done the Nigella salad with watermelon, red onion, lime juice, black olives and feta before which is great but I'm out of feta (have lots of olives funnily enough:rotfl:)

I've had that as well, which is gorgeous. but the calories can mount up with all those olives and feta. This has virtually no calories so eat as much as you like. (Not a whole recipe worth though. I did that and thought I was going to explode an hour later :o).

I simplify the idea for the younger year groups at school by telling them that insulin is the key that unlocks the cell door to let the glucose in. If you don't have enough keys the glucose can't get into the cells, and if you ask for too many keys at once the pancreas can't find them fast enough. It seems to work :rotfl:
On the same line, every year I start with a How much do you know quiz? and one of the questions is fat and sugar, which one is essentail and which one don't we need. Every year nearly every pupil says we should try to have no fat as its bad for us to have any at all but that we have to have sugar as we'll die without it as we would have no energy

Watermelon does tend to make yopu feel bloated with all that water.
