Pulling some braising steak out of the freezer for steak & onions tonight. Must get my last beef joint out too for tomorrow.
Only one pork joint left.

You lucky lot going on holidays. So envious. :D

Off to do a coupon circuit among the supers this afternoon. DH and I have come to regard it as a bit of fun come the weekend. Might even hit them again tonight for the reductions.
What a simple life I lead!

    Hi all

Boiled free range eggs for breakfast. Normally OH cooks me fried eggs with mushrooms at weekends but he's got a nasty cold. He's crashed out on his Chesterfield after Lemsip, trying to summon energy to go to Morrisons poor man.

Lunch will be grilled Cornish lemon sole that I fished out of the freezer yesterday. Got it from Morrisons last week, it may have been a special offer.

Lamb meatballs from ASDA I got last week 2 for £4 I think it was, weren't bad. Did them with a sauce. Sat in bed with dinner on a tray watching Gok Wan Made in China on catch-up !

£7.49 spent on food and sweeties so far.

    Lidl
    1 pack of pork chops - £1.84
    Gala fruit sweets - 89p
    Olive spread - £1.09
    Total - £3.82

    Aldi
    Torchon ham - £1.49
    Large F/R eggs - 99p
    Bramley apple crumble - 69p
    Total - £3.17

    Asda
    Haribos (lol) - 50p

Only went to Asda as I had 4 x £1.50 coupons for Loreal and Asda have 2 shampoos for £4, so 4 bottles of shampoo for £2 - 50p each. Hubby swears by the Loreal Elvive anti-dandruff one as it works, says it's stops itching.............bless him he hardly has any hair!! :rotfl:

Never got to Morries and B&M didn't have the crisps I wanted. Possibly Morries tonight though for some cheap pies and pasties, don't really need bread as I want to bake, but if any 15p/25p speciality breads are on offer I'll get just a couple.

Off to make pizza dough now in machine and need to work out how much yeast, olive oil and water needed for about 300g flour - only making 2 smallish calzones.

    Edit: found pizza dough recipe:
    350g strong white plain flour
    7g easy blend yeast sachet
    2 tablespoons olive oil
225ml (8 fl oz) milk (or water)

optional – teaspoon of sugar or honey
optional – 1/2 teaspoon of salt
optional – 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Heyyy Lynsey I rememeber that a couple weeks ago there was a pizza dough recipe on this thread and logged in just now to find it and...you've put just what i was looking for on your last post. Ta:j

Been to Lidl this morning and got 6 packs of 500g lean minced beef for 1.34 a pack (half price) and 2 packsof chicken breast fillets for £3.29. I paid £6 for fillets in Coop yesterday and it was a smaller pack !! With the massive pack of white onions at £1.99 for 5kgs..well pleased. So's my freezer...it was starting to echo ;)
That will go a small way to making my day a ickle bit better after getting the £500 garage bill an hour earlier :(

Just back from Morrisons.. I think maybe the hordes had been through this morning, as veg looked sad n sorry. Lidl romano and bell peppers are much bigger too.

Gressingham duck legs back on offer 2.65 per pack (2 legs per pack) so I grabbed several. Thoroughly recommend these. At the butchery counter the British lamb chops were still on offer at £10/kg. The larger chops were all gone so I got 4 for 4.95.

Noticed that Loyd Grossman Indian sauces are on offer at 99p each and that Nescafe is reduced from 4.79 to £4.

Grabbed the Filippo Berio Fruttato something EV olive oil on offer at 1.99 for 500ml and that can be used on salads this summer.

Picked up Urban Warfare (Steven Seagal) DVD for husband for £7.

    Hi all

Had a nice dinner of scrambled egg with toast and chopped toms, ds ate all of his which surprised me. He's gone off to the folks for the evening and is having meatballs, I'm prolly having a kebab later.

Had an ok afternoon in town. For some reason, there were French people all over. 3 families in 2 groups in one shop, another two separate groups in a costa coffee and a few more in Tesco, plus others dotted about outside. They can't have been here for the shopping, and I've checked the sport fixtures which showed nothing. Wonder why they'd bother coming to my city lol. Generally it's Polish we hear!

Planned to pick up some 25p yoghurts but forgot what they were. Price checked a couple but it wasn't them, then ds started having a complete hissy because he wanted 3 toy figures he saw, one for now and 2 for his birthday... Mam said she'd buy him one after a bit of sobbing (she'd just bought him a jigsaw from Disney shop - complete softy with him) but he insisted he wanted 3, told him to make his mind up by the count of 10 but he still wanted them all.... so he got none of them. Hopefully he'll learn something from it! He tried dragging the trolly back to the toys crying his eyes out but I wasn't going to give in.

Bought a tesco value kettle for £6.. peed off because I forgot my £4.50 worth of club card vouchers.

Do you enter a lot of comps? I have a go at em but never win anything :(
Have a lovely holiday. Sounds brilliant :)

Well, at my peak I was entering about 50 a day I'd say but never counted. Spent a couple of hrs a day doing it, but I'm fast on the comp both at typing and copy/pasting etc so could enter twice as many than my dad for example, who is pathetic with a keyboard.

Thanks, looking forward to the hol! This time next week, I'll be moaning about how much my feet are aching I bet! :D
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
