I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Well done, I am full of admiration! We walked out of that shop with a mixer AND a £10 note and only paid £5.99 by card - absolute madness.
Pity, but thanks for letting us know. I was half tempted to buy a mixer myself!See the Curry's hand mixer "glitch" has been corrected/ended - got one just in time - may just use it .......................one day!!
Yesterday evening went well...first time I ate dinner in a week and everyone really enjoyed the pizza (was impressed with the focaccia base, said it was the best they had eaten) and no-one mentioned a lack of meat. Everyone left late, the dishwasher was packed and I was in bed by 2.30am. There was lots of couscous and potato salad left over, which I packed up for my guests to take with them (the couscous was healthy enough, but I know just what went into the potato salad
). Despite my begging for no gifts / contributions, on top of the trifle we ended up with tarte au citron, cherry cheesecake, fresh homemade banana cake and profiteroles! (Plus flowers, wine and chocolate!). The extra desserts also went back with my friends, if I'd kept them I would have polished them off within 3 days.
As I was cooking for the evening, I thought I'd make some dahl and snacks from my parent's storecupboard (thanks Mum!). With the leftover pizza, couscous and trifle, I have a fridge jam packed full of food, probably enough for 2 weeks! Time for some to go in the freezer, whatever I don't get through in the next week will go back with me.
Orange and lemon trifle for breakfast with my coffee, yum

I think the discount kicks in when you spend £50 or more - so it means either buying a gold-plate flush handle, or some other stuff! I giess for you it's a case of planning for the new home, but presumably you'll be looking to get rid of a lot of things before you leave?might try to talk hubby into homebase they have 15% off
Is it too early for bedding plants I wonder? Might be a nice surprise to have the garden planted for when my parents get back the week after next.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Nice breakfast. lol
TBH, if you wanted the hand mixer "glitch" you may be able to argue your case for the £10 voucher as it states or stated any food mixer??
Just the advert on the cheapy doesn't state it now as it did yesterday!!
quintwins - cutting the grass already?? WOW
Hopefully still another few weeks before that, lawns look badly mossed up!!

Hope nobody minds me posting this, but got some good bargains at Mr T this morning (Crad***y Hea*h). Muller Activia 4 pack scanning 25p for the raspberry instead of £1. All other flavours £1 (thanks to Deal Diva for this). Campbells vegetable condensed soup RTC 23p a can, mango chutney RTC 44p and Batchelors Pilau rice RTC 32p a sachet

Am currently soaking some 15p chickpeas from co-op dated March 2011
Everyone is so inspiring on this thread!Sometimes, I can't see the wood for the trees - or the couscous for the quinoa... 3 no spends so far for August 2011!0 -
Just booked meals for the trip. Cafe Mickey, Cowboy Cookout, both with characters and an Arabian buffet place for lunch that sounds nice. Ds probably won't like it though lol.
Going out with mum after lunch, not sure where. Probably Tesco. Looking for a travel kettle, thinking maybe the value tesco one for £5.99 as I've £4.50 in vouchers, or there's a swan one, reduced to a tenner, but it's got a short lead. hmm.
Might have scrambled egg and tomato for dinner.I'll not moan about my 3 hrs'ish flight then!!
Probably never mentioned I'm going away in 17 days time.
16 days from tomorrow. lol
We normally time the airport around 1hr before flight now as we hate the waiting around - we'll get caught one day!!
Easyjet winter flights should be out in a few weeks and thinking of New Year abroad, possibly the Algarve again as accommodation is so cheap as is car hire.
I'll have to try comping, maybe start in April. I would love to win just 1 decent thing, but not lucky at winning things..............
.....................couponing is another matter.

You going on holiday? Didn't realise!
New Year in the Algarve sounds nice.
Just had another win! A Chinese New Year calendar and some cards... what's the point in that? Chinese New Year was ages ago! I can see them going in the bin. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
