We have the drumsticks here, but we're still getting the chocolate, what a shame you're not :(

    I'm gutted.
Spends this week have been so low I was going to get 30 bars like last time. :D
What a shame, probably get the onions today as I will be passing later and I'll avoid the weekend. Also need tomato puree.

    cherrypies - thanks, I'll have a look next Wednesday.......before I go to Sainsbury's. ;)

    Morning all

Not feeling too bad today so will see how the weekend goes before going to docs.

Had a successful day shopping yesterday. Got some new clothes and went to Tesco, stocked up on more comfort, fairy, toothpaste and tampax. Got my shopping for about half price. I didn't buy any food whatsoever. Actually, I tell a lie, I bought a baking apple to go with my sausage plait that I made last night using the last of my sausage meat up. I was unusually restrained.

Today I'll be taking ds to park then going to Asda as need butter, bread and milk. I've some chicken thighs and drumsticks from morrisons so may use some of them tonight with a korma sauce, and put the rest in the freezer. Not doing too bad on the freezer front, seems to be going down a bit.

Managed to print a coupon from SSM fb for sainsburys but there's only a small one in town, the big supermarket is miles away. Hopefully the prices aren't too much different when it comes to offers.

GarnetLady - welcome to the thread, hope you find it useful. :)

Lynsey - 30 bars of chocolate!! Wish I was restrained enough to have that amount in the house without scoffing them quickly. :D

Cherrypies - happy birthday to your lo. Hope you all enjoy the day, anything special planned?

I took a hm mango and banana smoothie and some fruit salad into work with me today, don't fancy either and have barely eaten for the last 3 days as I've had a respiratory infection and lost my appetite. I suppose they can sit in the fridge until tomorrow.

Has defrosted some ratatouille the Sunday before last and had been sitting in my fridge all this time untouched. It's bin day today, out it went before I left as I can't take risk getting D&V on top of everything else! The sun is shining and I'm looking forward to getting back to perfectly dried clothes this evening. If I'm hungry I'll have another pesto and salad sandwich with the last of the bread.

I ordered a veggie book off amazon last night, using the last of my Christmas vouchers - Rose Elliot's complete vegetarian cookery. Looking forward to reading it!!!

The Rose Elliot books are good, I have a few :)

Today: breakfast, usual hm bread toasted with marmite

Lunch - not sure, may just have toast again, in middle of stuff today so can't be bothered to cook

Dinner - rest of the aubergine and passata

I've seen a recipe for cajun squash cakes, they are mainly squash mashed with flour and cajun spice into a sort of burger. Wondering if it's worth buying some cajun spice to try these with the pumpkin still sat in the fridge (it hasn't gone mouldy yet) ... (or if I can make cajun spice out of what I have in the storecupboard..)

    Hi guys

Lynsey you sure chocs not your store?

as unsure if mine is as its on back page offere leaflet but dident know if that generic or store specific to my postcode as 2stores near me appears they have the same deals.no mince for me just flipping pork again its always pork as dident get beef steaks either.

Remember last time it was on I also got 30, it was an extra added leaflet added last mins I cant see why the grocery deal would vary?
Abyone know rough distance between stores before deal changes?

Sent hubby to lidls last night with strct list was thinking £25 he spent £56!
But he did good shop and brought 20cartons of passatta as 29p carton now wondering if should buy 20-40more as in date until 2014!

He brought the lean mince which was on offer few weeks back £1.34 now 2 for fiver.

reorganised my cupboards to make way for it but still low on herbs and spices.

    made a lasagne last night-which is 5 different portion/meals

fruit bowl looks bit less sorry for itself

found 6month+out date flour and few breadmixes would you risk?

Today got few unexpected things in large co-op

with todays purchase evening post 45-local rag get 3pots crusher jellys so 15p each.

meatballs -they used to do 12pack flashmarked at £2.
but latly they replaced with double pack flashmarked £3.
the typical co-opp customer usually doesnt do big shop or buy bulk in there as quite pricey so they were reduced by 50% to £1.49 use just 1pack for meal so 75p a pack so chuffed with that and another 4meals.

    So i have

2small packs diced beef in freezer
    1pack mince
    1pack sausages
    4packs meatballs
    chicken fillets
    pork belly
3packs chicken and bacon kievs reduced to £1.15 for twin pack so 62.5p each
    birds eye salmon in sauce
    1reduced pizza

    so least 15meals there.

Hubby got wedges and oven chips
    also potatoes.
we have eggs and diced bacon in fridge
    also have ham and cheese
    plenty milk and butter

    could do hm pizza
    more pancakes
    omlette and chips
    mini quiches.

not planning any more big shops just popping in spar and co-op for next 2weeks if possible.
need to build up bread stockpile again.
    pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:
Pay off as much as I can 2011 £15008.02/£15,000:j

    new grocery challenge £200/£250 feb

Gailey - yes, sadly my offer is 4 Luxury Caramel Shortcake - very poor substitute. :D

First time I've ever noticed a difference apart from the meat offers....

........and it had to be this week!!!!

I've been fairly unlucky this year with getting Lidl offers I want and need..........but my time will come. ;)
    Saves a few pennies anyway!
