I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Lynsey, I pay just over £60 per year, it's not bad at all though for the size though obviously in London we have to pay more than we would outside of it. They do keep trying to build on the sites, it's flat city here!! but now the sites are popular they get a lot of opposition, some land has gone to flats though but a school and football site failed to take the land. I think if I had a garden, I'd just grow things among the flowers, it would be a shame to dig it up like a plot as such - go for a Nigel Slater/Alys Fowler type thing, bit of everything.
Am just about too cook my pancakes, have never had Baileys in my life but can't imagine how it would taste?!
Just had a bit of a spend in Morries, mainly veg though, annoyed the aubergines had gone back up 25p. Almost at £60 spend this month which isn't good as I need eggs, butter etc still.
Lipstick, hope you feel better soon and get some answers from the drs.0 -
oh god, cringe at all my spelling mistakes, sorry all will fix it now, you prob thinking what was i on about lol, its my phone not me
Had the last of the salmon trimming pasta, i didnt manage to cook the organic mince yest, so when i get in tonight i will brown it and shove it in the slow cooker, dunno if i have any dark choccie to go in it, but i will have a look or buy some.
Had porridge this morning along with some defrosted milk.
I was wondering what to have for lunch tomorrow, but i am owed a free meal in the restaurant at work, so will have that tomorrow and chilli and rice for lunch on friday.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

I bought a total bargain last week, a living salad from Sainsbo's reduced to just 24p. I've watered it religiously and it has flourished - may need to re-pot it soon!
Just had a salad and pesto sandwich on grainy bread, and it was delicious!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Lynsey - just had this when printing coupons on the savvy facebook page.
Print limit reached
We are sorry, you have printed the maximum number of coupons available to you.
If you have tried to print but have not been successful, we apologise for the inconvenience.
Is this for the one day or is that it completely for me?
I've just had that. Printed out two of my reward coupons and then got that when I tried to print out a third reward.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Kirri, just over £60 per year is great, around £1.20 per week for 300 sq yards!! The developers must be pulling their hair out not being allowed to build their flats. lol
Just had a fun Tesco coupon deal - anyone who has printed the haircare coupons, Tesco are doing Pantene etc @ £1.12 for 75ml bottles. The trick is to buy 5 bottles as the multi-buy kicks in @ 5 for £4, so £1 off rest of shopping as used 5 coupons.
I "bought" 5 mini Pantene, 2 packs of hot cross buns and a packet of Khatta Meetha mixed snacks @ 46p half-price.
Bill total £7.06 minus £1.60 multi-buy, minus 5 x £1 coupons - Total to pay = 46p. :money:
Two packs of hot cross buns for free. :rotfl:
46p to add to annual spend.
Gave my brother lots of coupons and he had a £10 off £30 coupon and was well chuffed. Hope you lot that are having problems printing those coupons, get sorted quickly. Hope it doesn't get pulled.
Stuffed after Toby and had a free ice cream, so nothing else today, apart from maybe a hot cross bun later.
Might pop into Sainsburys at 7.30pm??

Yep bargain value for land lol. It's a HUGE saving on veg costs for me.
I'm almost tempted to join in this couponing lark even though I don't use those products, given what you've just got!!!
Just prepared dinner, half an aubergine, couple of allotment shallots, half the hm allotment passata with pasta and parmesan. Managed to squeeze the pasty in the fridge where the tofu came out yesterday as will have the rest of the aubergine pasta instead tomorrow.
Added up spend so far for Feb 2012:
£56.89 (£24.91 food & £31.98 veg)
(In Feb 2011 I spent £159.39!!)0 -

Another one jealous of your allotment :T Waiting lists are insane around here and wouldn't be able to manage one by myself. I will however be growing things in tubs in my parents garden. Ordered carrot, spring onion, nastursium, spinach & dwarf bean seeds
Had a storecupboard & freezer meal: chicken breast w/ tin of chopped toms, mixed herbs, carrot & beans cooked in the oven with pasta. Can't wait until I've finished with these tesco value chicken breasts, they were gifted to me from a former flat mate but they are horrible, no flavour at allI'm not throwing them away though... slow cooking with a sauce makes them edible!
Added to the freezer with some reduced pork loins, 100% pork, reduced from £3-£1.50 so thought that was pretty good. Funnily enough it was in my student union shop, you'd think students would all be clamouring for a bargain but I've never seen anyone go for whoopsies in there...they need educating :rotfl:0 -

*delurks* I've had that twice - I was trying to print all mine for Tesco, tried for Sainsburys for the two affected, and it worked! Also it was just the two that were causing problems, I could print the others out fine, so worth trying if you have more.*relurks*

Hi all, I'm soo tired today! Half term and two poorly children, plus all day rain = not the most fun I've ever had! ;-) Did manage to get out though, got 4 small bags of organic bananas for 10p per bag from M&S, some are bruised so they'll get turned into banana bread and banana muffins but most of them are fine and should last a while. Also got 3 bags of easy peeler tangerines for 50p a bag. And, spent £10 in the Co-op but I couldnt leave without buying what was on offer. At the entrance to the store they had a display of the beef joints that are currently on offer large Topside / silverside for half price £4.99 per kilo, but while I was in there they started reducing them to half price again so about £5 each, ended up geting two VERY large pieces of beef (almost 5kgs in total) for £9.98 AND they are in date until 27th Feb, so not even due to be reduced? No idea what that was about but I'm not complaining!
Got lots of cooking to do tonight as I have a glut of potatoes and spinach plus a few other things. Going to make Aloo saag for Husband, pea and potato soup for the kids (which they have with fish finger croutons!) a thai style chicken soup for me, a crustless mushroom and spinach quiche and the banana bread ... I'd best get cracking!
Oh, got the JTD voucher for the Finest meal deal plus free bubbly chocolate, it returned at £4.66 so net cost of full deal with wine and chocolate £5.34!!0 -
^ I couldn't cope with cooking all those separate meals for all different family members! One thing from scratch a day is enough for me!
Wecome GarnetLady, you'll have to stay now
Lyra - yes I was lucky, got in just before they got really popular a few years back so I got one straight away. You can get quite a bit done in tubs though - or you could check the landshare website as an alternative
Dinner tonight was lovely, looking forward to the other half of the aubergine and passata pasta tomorrow. Some of the meals so far this year have been a bit stodgy in having to use things up, so was nice to get more veg back in a meal.0
