Thanks Kirri. Fresh garlic or garlic that hasn't dried has a very, very strong taste and is very juicy.
I wanted to make my own garlic infused olive oil, but scared of the botulism and the amount of effort involved.....thought it would be just a case of popping a clove or two into a pouring bottle. :o
I'll just buy a small bottle when I find it on offer.

Yes, can also taste a bit hot too when fresh. I've no idea what's involved with the garlic oil, maybe I should consult my preserving book!!

Btw, how much is the Lidl olive oil when on offer? I normally use Morrisons offers as they nearly always have one on half price (if I've not bought the organic ones I really want from Waitrose!!). I used to stock up on it but now I resist and buy 1 offer bottle at a time :D

Lidl have olive oil on offer at £2.99 per litre this week, until next Wednesday I believe. It's part of their XXL event.
Lidl do sometimes (very rarely) have it on half-price (weekend deal), but never been on in ages - that's stock up time.
No use to you, but HB sell it for around £1.50 per 500ml bottle. The Lidl (primadonna) one is pretty good/OK though.

    Morning all.

Kirri/Lynsey. Roasted garlic is supposed to be nice when fresh is used. It always looks lush when they do it on Masterchef lol. :D

Today I can't be bothered with brekkie. Dinner will be the rest of the sushi and tea is chicken paupiettes with stuffing, veggies and mash.

I need to buy bread, juice, cereal and skimmed milk, oh and about £10 of electric. All my bills come out next week so I've got about £40 to last me two weeks, which includes buying the stuff I've just listed.

On a better note... 7 more weeks today 'til Disneyland! :D

National Holidays are supposed to be doing a 3 nights hotel/2 days there for £250 with kids free. Think that ends in March. It's supposed to be in their brochure. I can't see it on the website.

Back on board today! Breakfast was my last yoghurt and lunch was a bagel from a reduced selection i got the other day. They will do me for the rest of the week.

Looking at lidl's offers I could be in for a big shop there this weekend, meatballs, cheese, potatoes, chicken, crisps etc. All good deals really, so would be beneficial to stock up.

Saturday night, i'm going to stay in and have meatballs, with tomato sauce and grilled cheese on top, acompanied by some garlic bread out the freezer! Can't wait!!

Welcome to the thread. If you're anything like me, the minute you get a space you'll be buying twice as much that is needed to fill it. :o
