I have just made the most delish pudding, Some old on the turn eating apples and plums which I stewed and then didn't know what to do with them, got them out of the freezer this morning determined they would go!:D I popped a sponge cake mix on the top, browned it off on the top in the oven for 20 mins on 180 then as it was still a bit runny in the sponge area stuck it in the microwave for 5 minutes, truly scrummy!

All fruit sponge has left the building, it went down a treat!

  • Might have to send this to my mum. She's got a complex where if the first layer of tins of frozen food has been eaten, she must go buy more! I swear there's things in her cupboards years old.
  • Well dinner was a success :) had the sausage pasta, with home made garlic bread.

Vintage gonna try a stewed fruit sponge, as had some fruit on the turn so thanks.

Also i used one of the sausages chopped up, with caramelised onions and some garlic mayonnaise, took 2 50/50 whoopsied pitta pockets out pack was 27p for 8 :) filled them and i will have that on the way to my jobs tomorrow, have popped in foil, i usually buy a sandwich, but thought i would see if this was a success.

Also took a scone out the freezer and will have that later with some jam, so all in all, all i have done is eat out the freezer and cupboards this weekend, have portioned some pasta for tomorrows lunch and have porridge for brekkie, with dinner being the 2 sausage pitta pockets on the bus.

I’m really bad at this! :o

DD went into town yesterday & ‘Mum’s Taxi’ got a call about 4.30pm for pick up. Parked in Mr T’s car park & while there checked out the reduced section. Lots there, but only pathetic reductions of 10% - 20%.

However, the lad was there & just starting on the top shelf. So DD & me stood there patiently while he worked his way through the shelves. Typically he was reducing to 70% off! We got loads of fresh fruit, some salad & veg, fresh fruit juice, yoghurts & a trifle. Also 500g premium beef mince 75p (got 3), 400g casserole steak 99p, 410g diced chicken breast 69p, 432g whole chicken breasts (2 per pack, got 2) £1.20, Wall’s sausages 68p & a pack of 12 meatballs for 30p! :D

Of course we had to get the meat into the freezers & it took both of us & lots of juggling. Freezers are completely choc-a-bloc.

Dinner tonight was a chicken & tomato pie out of the freezer – mainly because there was no way it was going to fit back in! And the trifle we picked up yesterday.

    Must try harder!!

Too hungover to eat/cook today! Got takeaway which will do for lunches tomorrow too. Lamb shanks out the freezer for dinner tomorrow night.

NSD today for me, just milk that I need to get this week!

Well today would have been a NSD if I didn't have to put a tenner in my nephews card. Had a nice dinner with a bit of M&S Christmas cake which has been untouched. For tomorrow I've just dragged out the gammon joint with 3 cheese mustard crust. It's starting to look like I've got a bit of room in my freezer now, unlike my cupboards. :o

The sponge pudding that was posted sounds lovely. Yummm. Could just eat some with warm custard.

and it's never too cold for ice cream :rotfl:

need some bread and butter today, gonna pop to poundland for clothes pegs aswell as mine have all went missing, off to mil for lunch and gonna have a nice quick tea, will grab a reduced loave to feed the ducks this afternoon

Shhhhh don't tell my ds that! ;) How old is your ds?

And it's always too cold for ice cream, except for when you're by a pool in a very hot country and really don't want to dive in again... as you can tell I'm not a fan of the cold stuff.

The two items I'm after don't seem to come up that often hence the bulk buy next time - if they do come up on offer, I'll "invest" this time and it'll keep me going for months. It will really help the budget.

Ok, Ok, I'll let you off! :D

Bramble - feeling any better? :D
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I went supermarket shopping last Sunday - topped up today with celery(69p) and bread rolls (39p) from Lidl, and some cherry tomatoes, grapes and cucumber from my local fruit stall which came to £2.75. I've got enough milk for tea and coffee foor the week, and some yoghurt in the fridge, plus plenty of fruit from last week so am not planning on another proper supermarket shop until next Sunday. I'm just hoping that I don't get bored of the freezer and can hold out for that long!

On the downside had a very expensive weekend - spent a load on drinks and meals out even though I hardly ate! This is what comes of splitting the bill "fairly", I suppose.
