  • Had some whoopsied stewing beef in our stew today instead of chicken and it was delish! Got out one of our reduced pork joints for tomorrows roast and have a reduced cabbage to use up and a swede.

Coupon usage developing nicely. :) Got 3 packs of huggies newborn nappies (for DS1 & wife ready for when grandson arrives!), 2 pks of huggies wipes and 2 pks nappy sacks all for under £3 with my stash of coupons and some good toothpaste that was 50p with another coupon. I'm getting back into the swing of things! :D

  • Making a lot of lentil soup in the SC this morning for DD's healthy lunch before work then going to make a Lamb casserole from whoopsied lamb from the freezer and using up veg from the bottom of the fridge for our dinner. Will try to make a pasta bake for tomorrow night's tea so DD can just pop it in the oven so it's ready when we get in from work.

Last night we had a picky dinner of jalpeno popper things, hash browns and mini potato waffles. HEALTHY! still cleared a good part of the freezer out. I'm out for dinner not sure what OH will have.

Do need to do a shop but will try and wait till tomorrow eve and see what bargains i can get.

  • Had some of the chowder with a home bake bageete, baked 2, one for work with the chowder for lunch tomorrow.

Having cousin over for dinner, cooking her fave lamb from freezer, roast pots, need using up, also doing a mac cheese, milk went out of date yesterday is it o.k to use? smells o.k

And making a hot choc sponge in sc for dessert with either icecream or ambrosia custard from glitch, still have tons left!

I would use the milk - it doesn't know the exact date it's supposed to go out of date!

I have meal planned totally from the freezer today for the whole week, which i feel proud about. I am even baking bread today :) I'm going to try and keep next week's spend at about £30 if i can manage it. Will take my time shopping around for the best deals and get shopping on the weekend.

Today we've got spag bol & cheddar and tomato flatbread for dinner
Lunch i will just have toast, or soup, or something else out of the cupboard.

  • My freezer is about three quarters full at the moment, but it includes all my Christmas meat so not too bad.

Breakfast today was beans (l/o from weekend) on wholemeal toast, lunch is sandwiches for kids and l/o pork with salad for me, dinner tonight is a bit of a mish mash - chicken curry (using l/o chicken) for DD1 and DD2 with me having fish in butter sauce (been in the freezer yonks but still in date) with mash and peas.

My breadmaker is due to arrive today - I can't wait!! I got a great deal on a panasonic - newest model for £130 from Very, with a 10% off code and £25 cashback (offer from panasonic - need to send in receipt). I don't have any bread flour in the cupboard, or any yeast so will get some later if I go to the shops.

Went to lidl and spent £8ish - baked beans were on offer with 2 free tins (heinz ones) so picked up some for the store cupboard as we're down to 4 tins. Got some chicken breast too as the price was good.

Went to sainsbobs and got snacky bits. Also found birds eye hot and spicy chicken 4 packs were on sale for 75p down from £2.99 so picked up 2 packs of them, they're handy to have around when neither of us feel like cooking or need a quick tea.

The rest of the week should be NSD for me. Will see how we get on!

Hi everyone. Sorry haven't been around but I promise have been keeping up. Did the grand shop last week, need to update sig but freezer is now chocka again. I blame DH, his cousin works in a halal butchery and fish place and gave him loads of stuff for like £50, won't need fish or chicken or meat again until feb I should think!

Lunch is mackerel fillet from the freezer and cooked up a lentil soup for DD. Finally making my way through the mounds of lentils we have. Dinner will be soup for me and beans on toast for DD &DS wig yoghurt for afters

Well I've completely fallen off the wagon - I *said* I was going to do a meal plan and I didn't :o so I'm completely lost as to what I'm doing.

We had corned beef hash yesterday and I pre-cooked the potatoes in the morning before I left for work rather than have extra cooked over the weekend to use up

We're all at the dentist tonight and racking my brains for what to have - there's loads in the freezer but I haven't planned  furious with myself!!

Only me and DS1 tomorrow, then all 3 of us on Thursday and then we're away for the weekend on Friday and Saturday night - really need to get my @r$e into gear
