You can add three ingredients that you have found in your cupboard and they give you a recipe to use them all up!!

Nothing much used yesterday, out most of the day so only had fruit, toast and chocolate..

Today, headache all afternoon so not cooking this evening, just got a hm veg curry out the freezer and having with rice. Had some organic tofu sausages from the Ocado order for lunch with hm bread and hm onion marmalade which was very good.

    Welcome mouche :)

    In to freezer - nothing.
Out of freezer - HM Short Crust Pastry + fruit - to make a crumble.
Busy day with house renovations so easy meal.
We had stir fry veggies + beef/onion pastie.

    Bit more stuff used up..

Made a big cheesecake tonight, not something I'd usually eat, I don't really like creamy things either and it's probably massively fattening... but I had 1/2 jar out of date lemon curd, 2 packs of half used biscuits I hadn't even bought myself which were also out of date since last xmas and an out of date since January tin of condensed milk leftover from a job. I did have to buy cream and marscapone but worth it to use the other bits up - feels like an achievement! It's massive though, did 2 separate portions for the fridge and the rest went in the freezer in a tin - hope I can cut it though once frozen.. tastes surprisingly good too.

Updated the spreadsheet and the list of out of date stuff in the cupboards is getting quite small, I'm on track to finish this challenge by xmas :D

Have planned the next week's meals to further us up those bits, trying to use something in every meal.

Spends this month now up to just over £100.

MNR - I'd expect more from that complaint, receipt or not - I usually email customer services as never seem to get a good response in store.

I put in a complaint about an online order for cream - it turned up with only 4 days use by date which seemed really short - they replied saying it was lucky it had that long! Not great customer service...
  • Kirri. Can't believe waitrose replied with that, how poor.

At the time I didn't have the energy to argue, cramps were kicking in...

Day 2 of liquids only, still cramping grrrr, I went and cooked for my gram, battered cod,, mash and veg, annoyed I didn't taste it, but can't risk it.

Oh that wasn't Waitrose, was one of the organic delivery co's.. I need to go in Waitrose though and check how long the dates on the item in there are though to compare, sure it's much longer.

Sounds like you've picked up quite a serious bug?

Ooo can I join? I have a full to bursting freezer! 2 drawers actually need to be emptied and binned however.

On holiday next week so hoping to use up freezer bits till we go and work on the rest when we get back.

Today's lunch is half a balsamic onion tart out freezer with other half ear marked for tomorrow

The food in there is so old - i'm talking 2 years old, and meat that I wouldn't eat anyway... 5kg of chicken wings anyone?! (it's my ex's food...I'm not in the habit of buying things I wouldn't eat!)
