  • Gosh not been on these forums for a few years!! Shocking! I need to use up all the rubbish in my freezer and cupboards I always end up with a lot of bits though which is tricky if you want to cook for 6 - think I will aim to use so something from the freezer/cupboard every meal and only pick up the extra bits for that meal rather than do a full shop. I pass lidls every day so it's a bit deadly though!!
  • ^^ gosh have to get rid of all these tags too!! Olympic challenge??? Mince today - always an easy place to start :)

If you don't fancy eating it that's fine, but have you got a dog or cat?

I have both! I could fee it to them I suppose. Except the chicken wings as they're already cooked.

Anyway, OH was home last night so ended up using fish burgers and burger buns out the freezer last night. I also lifted a loaf of bread out too.

I think we will get 2 pizzas out for dinner tonight.

    .

Gonzo:- simmer the chicken wings with some water, and when they are soft take the bones out, add bread or pasta and maybe left over veg, the dog will love it. Think of feeding dogs in the same ratio as ourselves with meat, veg and carbohydrates. Cats are different they need more protein than dogs so feed the chicken straight, also if they are anything like mine they are very fussy.
One golden rule with dogs and cats is that you can feed dogs cat food but you can't feed cats long term on dog food.

    I feel reasonably organised today
Out of freezer:- cooked chicken casserole in mustard sauce, peas, that's for DH's tea, plus puff pastry to make eccles cakes. Mackerel for my tea. Pea and mint soup for lunch plus bread.
    In hopefully nothing

I keep one freezer for HM prepared meals and frozen leftovers, plus YS offers and things I'm going to use up within a short period of time like bread and frozen veg. I'm getting low on prepared meals particularly main course ones. I think over the weekend I'll have a session of batch cooking. I need to look in the other freezer to see what I can use. Just need to get organised with all the other bits and pieces I'll need. Don't really want to go shopping until October as I've overspent my budget, so just may wait until the beginning of next month. :)

Thanks Zafiro. The kitten loves the dog's food. There is nothing we can do to stop him eating it! Will start letting them eat the left overs out the fridge when we get back from out holiday.
  • OUT - two fish portions for tea.

IN - two (ys) lamb chops, two line caught cod (ys), two plaice (ys), raspberries (ys) mince meat (ys) pork balls (ys)

Although more went into the freezer then came out, I am very pleased that I only bought yellow stickers and I only bought enough for one or two meals. I would have cleared the shelves previously, so I am pleased.

Nothing out the freezer today but have made use of a lot of home grown veg instead.. just fancied pasta.

Made a sauce with tomatoes, garlic, thyme, courgette, green pepper and a spoonful of the marscapone left over from the cheesecake recipe. Lovely!
  • No freezer movements.
Tonight's dinner - YS Smoked Mackerel, fries + salad.

Out - Quorn pieces which I defrosted last night and are now currently sitting the fridge with a chipotle marinade on them. I will also take out wraps to have with them which I forgot to do yesterday! Also have some little chicken and bell pepper taco things which I may serve with dinner.

Nothing in hopefully. I need to go to the shops to get some peppers for dins, but will try to avoid buying anything unless it's a super bargain.
