I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge
Comments
-
Out:- braising steak and beef kidney, casserole vegetables.
In:- I'll have to wait until I've finished batch cooking to see what is what
Finally finished cooking
In:- 3 portions of spag bol minus the spag
4 portions beef casserole, veg but no potatoes as yet
4 portions of beef and kidney, two of which we will have tonight with dumplings and two to freeze, maybe to turn into a pie at a later date.
Total 11 meals, because I don't always have what my DH has that should be equivalent to at least a whole weeks main meals, not bad for a mornings cooking, also managed to do the washing, dusting and hoovering as well as feed and water 300 chickens and the alpacas - now off to collect eggs.0 -
I like the lined muffin tin idea, wonder if cake papers would work too??
(Also saw a broccoli pesto like the pea pesto that looked interesting)
The silicone muffin cases might work well. They are fairly cheap in Wilkos too.
I'd love the broccoli pesto recipe if you have it. Also I can't remember what you said to use in place of the Parmesan to make it milk free.Jelly_Biactol wrote: »wandering O/T and slightly against the thread ethos, but I hope any biscuit & cookie lovers here have been able to take advantage of the Mr T glitch:)
I don't know anything about this, but wouldn't mind knowing, although I wouldn't mind guessing it won't be milk free biscuits and cookies involved!0 -
Planning to use up onions, potatoes and carrots today to make a vegetable soupWife and mother :jGrocery budget

In - nothing. Yippee
Out - Cod loin that I bought yesterday. Smothered in curry powder for a curry tonight. Some frozen fruit that was lurking in the bottom of the freezer - can use for a crumble.

Looks like the glitch has been fixed, sorry only just saw your post.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

Yes, good idea, will have a look in there.
I can't remember where I've seen/put the broccoli pesto recipe, will check my other folders, thought I knew and now can't find it! I used cashews instead of parmesan but I think almonds are used more so??
Today, nothing much out the freezer again but used a lot more HG veg. Had a clear out of the fridge as was getting overwhelmed - had to throw out 2 carrier bags full of veg as just can't eat what I've grown quick enough before more has grown (freezer is full too..). Probably into the last few weeks of all the veg though with the temps dropping.
Lunch - stir fried egg, quinoa and bulgar, pepper, carrot, garlic and onion.
Dinner - same as last night, pasta, to use up the marscapone and made another pasta sauce with tomatoes, garlic, onion, courgette and french beans.
Had small thing out the freezer, one portion of the hm cheesecake for mid pm snack.0 -
In to freezer - HM Carrot/Onion Quiches.
Out of freezer - Fish.
Made 2 Carrot/Onion Quiches.
For dinner we had Quiche + Brocolli/Carrots - SS + Cous Cous - made with Bovril stock cube - yummy.

Thanks Jelly, that would have been a fab deal, but I saw it too late!!!
Thanks for the almond/cashew tip Kirri. I really should try to keep this information in my head so I don't have to keep asking you the same things!!!0 -

No worries, there's far too many things on this thread to remember!!
When I buy a pesto, this is the one I buy - this has almonds in, I didn't even realise it was almonds instead of parmesan when I first had this!
