Bought some reduced bits in Mr w today, lamb mince, diced pork, burgers and muffins. Also bought a vita coco to try was o.k, but they ran out of the flavour o really wanted to try, reduced bits in freezer.
Also I bought whites flaky fish pieces from the freezer section in Mr s and they were nice, white pollock, went to buy more, I saw the basics version, read the back and it was the same thing! Whites was half price at £3 the basics was £1.78 as standard plus there were 7 fillets instead of 5 so I got those to try.
I visited my gram in hospital today and stoped to get her a soup, she was so grateful, she Wolfed it down, then my aunt brought her a big mac which she also ate, she has mainly been eating sandwichrs for meals as the food is so bad!Lose 28lb 3/28lb

^ Hope she's doing ok in there, apart from the food.. had to take food in for my dad before, it looked like they had liquidised the main meal, gross.. I don't know how they produce such bad food.
I have a free voucher for the vita coco I need to pick up by the end of the month though imagined it to taste a bit unusual?0 -
Kirri she's picked up 2 infections while In there and her blood pressure is high, but she is in good spirits, she went in last Wednesday to have an op, was only meant to be in 4.day's, hopefully she will be out soon, I hate hospitals Ergh!
Vita coco is nice, they have the small ones in Mr w on special for £1 I'd Say get a flavoured one, I wanted to try the mango and peach one, sounded nice.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Need to get back on track with using things from the freezer.
Yesterday out - lambs hearts casseroled and will be used today, along with frozen peas, sprouts and chestnuts and pots from the fridge. Need to make space for when the chestnuts decide to fall so I can freeze this years crop.
Today out:- soup for lunch, I may even have some bread rolls lurking in the bottom drawer - will check.
Cupboards:- out need to make a cake as there are no biscuits or cake in the house. It is so frustrating when I find I am just one ingredient short. The only cake I can do this am is sultana and pinneaple. I have enough of two cakes so one will be frozen in pieces. Must remember to soak dried fruit in tea overnight to make my usual tea loaf0 -
Chickpea pesto sounds fantastic, never would have thought of something like that.

Lots of tasty-looking recipes on that blog, too, and all vegan

I might try the tomato sauce the next time I'm batch cooking some pasta sauce

Interesting fried chickpeas!
Herbs drying - decided to air dry the sage bundles as I read it can ignite in the oven? Thyme is in the oven though all the articles about drying herbs seem to differ a lot, I've got it on low and will leave it for a few hours and see what happens...
Got to use up the final portion of haloumi tonight so probably just have it with quinoa/bulgar and griddled veg.
Had toast for breakfast and toasted sandwich for lunch, not mega exciting but had other stuff I needed to do.
Placed small delivery from Abel & Cole after 16 days of no shopping - just a few essentials plus some ingredients to make a cheesecake as I have some ingredients for the recipe already that need using up. May possibly have a second Ocado order too, don't really want £40 worth of stuff but I want a few heavy things plus I can't be bothered to go to the shops.
My August food spend was £150 ish.
So far in Sept I've spent £50 but think will end up about £100.0 -
Used some crumpets from freezer, couple of yogurts for lunch, then I've had some of the basics fish, which tasted exactly the same, so will be buying those from now on, frozen veg and basmati rice for dinner.Lose 28lb 3/28lb
