I can't be the only one who picks and chooses the person that sounds nicest, and asks politely for things, as opposed to the "I'll pick up tonight" responses.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

It depends on the items I think, I had to get rid of a sofa ASAP as a new one was getting delivered, so I did go with the ''I'll pick up tonight''.
But if it is something such as clothing or toys, I am wary of picking people who may have different motives.

I have tried to join my local Freecycle, but it doesn't let me - I'm not sure why. I have three sliding wardrobe doors (one mirrored) that I want to get rid of. I don't think I'll bother trying again to join if it's turning into a joke.

In the meantime, anyone want three sliding wardrobe doors......

I tried too and was refused, tried again this year and they didn't even reply. What a shame as I had some really good kit to pass on, garden shredder, shade canopy, pop-up gazebo, wrought iron bench etc....all found good homes now but I am perplexed at being spurned by Freecycle!

If you have any of the following languishing unloved someplace, I would love to
    give them a new home!

    1) Technic Lego
    2) Camera / Lenses / Filters, or any other camera accessories you may have (Film
or digital type) - Would love an old telephoto lens!
    3) Telescope (as a backup in case nobody has a telephoto lens!)
    4) PCI Graphics card (normal pci, not pci express!)
    5) Pocket Watch!
    6) Old BMX Bicycle in any condition
    7) Broken laptop (or working if you have one!)
    8) 1U / 2U Server (Or any sort of server really)
    9) Gameboy games
    10) And last but not least, an Oscilliscope!

Would anyone like to make my day a great one?

And not one please or thank you in there. What is an Oscilliscope by the way?

I haven't visited the Birmingham Freecycle for ages.
Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.09

I dont think I mentioned that it was stupid.

I was actually just listing my own ad, so if you can give me your details I shall be round to pick up two of the items tonight, and the laptop when it is working,

As I said, two of the items I had to junk.

It's a device that allows you to observe electrical waveforms on a screen.

Primarily used in the development of electronic circuits.

yes, those responces really get on my nerves and just get deleted, would rather relist than give to some of the people who reply

    "I will collect tonight"
"I'll take it of your hands, send me your address"
    "phone me on 0777xxxx"
Ive even had "Its mine, give me your address and I will come at 10 tomorrow night"

this on top of the the multiple people who never turn up, I usually email them and say that I was dissapointed to see that they had failed to turn up, I no longer offer second chances because of this, Somone was due to turn up for a garden shredder...they forgot, they also forgot to email me when they remembered but were miffed when they emailed me days later to say they were going to come that night instead as they had forgot the first night and they had found that it had been given to someone else

I also had a man who clearly was a sandwich short of a picnic. I had offered an internal glass door (heavy), gave measurements, said they would need to collect and to make sure they could transport it. He turned up with a car full of children, literally FULL of children, he had no roof rack, no trailer or anything else. I watched for 15-30mins whilst he tried every which way to arrange these kids in this car whilst he tried to ram this door in,,,it would have been funny if not so stupid. I finally had to say Look mate, its not going to fit in and you cant have the kids sit on the floor on top of each other, he never did come back to collect it

I must admit I seem to get a much better "hit rate" on ebay, I tend to list things there these days when I can be bothered, all at 50-99p, people seem to actually turn up, Im not sure if its because of the feedback score system or the fact that they feel they are "buying" the item, who knows.

Sort of like a funny looking TV with lots of knobs and buttons and it only shows squiggly wavy lines.

No as I have four (2 mirrored) to dispose of, which Freecyclers don't appear to want.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
