Great! Is there a time period that they will be sanctioned for or is it permanently?

They take a long time to make a decision in my experience. I know someone who was dismissed for gross misconduct in March and was upfront with the Job Centre. After much form filling and waiting they still haven't been told the result and have no idea if and for how long they may be sanctioned. In the meantime they have been getting JSA every fortnight and now actually have a conditional job offer.

Mike, if you are up to it (and if you have stayed on the wagon through this bloody well done btw) I might get yourself down to an agency and get some temping under your belt, if you can. a) gives you a "clean" reference b) saves faffing about on JSA. Hopefully you have a skill set which will be in demand to cover people's holidays.

Hi all as you know I was dismissed last week, however I am appealing this decision.

Is it usual that the company have advised my colleagues that I won't be returning, sent me my p45 and replaced me int role prior to the appeal being heard. This would indicate to me that the appeal outcome has already been decided, I.e it will fail.

    Thanks

Yes this is normal. You have been dismissed. That decision stands unless overturned, so the employer is not doing anything wrong in acting according to the decision they have already made.
