Nescafe Gold Blend - priced as £1.88 (save 15% of RSP), charged £2.5X (at Holborn Viaduct). After 5 mins of arguing and getting the SA to turn around and read out there Price Promise (on the wall behind him), I got my 'double the difference'...

Which size and variety was it please - cant see anything on mysupermarket.co.uk that matches either price. I would like to give this a try today.
    thank you

Where do you stand when the sign on the till displays 'full refund and keep the product' and the sign behind the service desk says double difference?

Anyone won any r&r's on that one. I know of a couple of stores still displaying old signs at the tills.!!

    Thanks TB
I had this happen and although I thought I was on a loser, they actually honoured it to my surprise,if you have trouble could try the customer helpline generally they'll ring the store and ask them and then you should get a R+R.

I have found a particular tesco being very nasty about me getting my money back.
I think the SA keeps the money themselves...cos when they overcharged me on some icecream cones , she offered me my 81p difference..

But she didnt mention the dtd.

So I just pointed to the sign behind and without even thinking or looking she said oh..yeah its £1.62 then......very nastly.so I think if customers dont mention it I think they keep it themsleves!!!!
  • i noticed kronenbourg 4x cans marked as 3 for £4 yesterday. i pretty much twigged that this was wrong (12 cans for £4!) but bought 24 cans and then went straight to CS. the lady there admitted the error, but then said that the policy had changed lately and that they no longer offer DTD on SEL's. is this true?! luckily a queue had formed behind me and since she couldn't work the till, she muttered "sod it- i'll do it my way" and i got an r&r! hey presto- a case of free beer!

Last time I looked, the blue boards and till posters said "price on the shelf or on the product", so that means SEL's count in my book

afraid you were lied to - the sel shows the price which was wrong, meaning you should have had double the difference - it just depends as to how much you were overcharged (you might have been paid to take them away with dtd).
