Hi all, I've been reading through the thread here and can I ask the following question: It may sound silly, so please bear with me.
If I buy product a in tescos for £1 but it is advertised for 95p on the shelf edge or elsewhere in store - Tescos terms & conditions will allow me a refund of the product & also allow me to retain this product.
Is this correct? If so, then I thank you all greatly for your help. Actually, if not, thanks for clarifying this.

The new overcharge policy is Double the Difference back (DTD) - is if the stated price is 95p but the till charges you £1 then you would get 10p back.0 -
Hi avstar - thanks for the quick response. I just read that in the previous page also - however dtd is still a win for the consumer.
I am taking this weekend to look at all our spending & make changes where possible.
Every little helps......
sorry I know that was a terrible joke.David James aint got nothing on me0 -
I scored my 1st Double The Difference today on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars for the Xbox 360. Orange SEL said £29.71, but it had expired yesterday & the price had returned to £39.71.
Customer Service tried to give me £10 back, but I mentioned that the blue board says double & she duely refunded £20 to the card I paid with.
I'd also increased the saving by getting 5 boost smoothies & handing over 6 of the £2.49 vouchers, 1 for each 1 I bought & an extra 1. As the smoothies were selling at £1.49 this gave me an extra £7.49 off, so the cost of the game ended up dropping from £39.71 to £12.22. A saving £27.49.0 -

Only asking as we were thinking of starting to build up points to put towards a holiday next year.
Thanks
BarrieBut how is this possible as there can only be one clubcard registered per address???
Dont know where youve got this from, but its well known by points collectors that Tesco tolerate multiple accounts at the same address...These are used by "professional" points collectors to save for high value items such as cars and holidays...I know of lots of people with 6 to 8 accounts at the same address,(and some with lots more) a lot of them with 6 to 8 maxxed out cards{we believe 14,850 is the safe max, as after that a person(rather than a computer) gets involved and theyre all in the same name eg E Smith, E R Smith, Ed Smith etc...so they can all be put to the same goal...a car from Motorpoint...Many people have got cars easily (in a year) by gaining 60k and more points a quarter, which is quite easily attainable with both an SB and an HB 250 pointers out at the same time, or special points purchases....Altho its hurts to say this...but MSE is primarlily Money Saving...wheras better info may be attained on points collecting here

but you have to register.......Its very condescending and sickly at times, but if you can fight your way through the crap, its very informative...Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Having had a spat with leadhead a few years ago over R&R, I know that he is more than capable of fighting his own corner.

Accidental DTD today. Returned a faulty kettle to Tesco & went off to look for another one. Obviously looked at what ones were on offer, just in case.
Russell Hobbs
Seattle Colour Changing Kettle (black kettle, the window bit is blue when water is cold & changes to red when hot)
Model no 14339
£40 reduced to £20 (exp approx 5/8 - can’t remember exactly, but it was well in date)
http://www.thereallyusefulstore.co.uk/P~144032~Russell+Hobbs+Black+Seattle+Kettle+14339
(cheaper than most places, but not as good as free)
Tescos site doesn’t have an image. It shows it at £40 but with an offer of a free toaster, also exp 5/8.
Went through at £40 (I had scanned this just in case so knew that it would). Trotted off to Customer Services. After faffing around with the calculator for a while she refunded me £20. I casually asked why only £20 … got the response that I’d been over charged by £20 blah, blah, blah. I pointed to the board behind her and asked why I wasn’t getting double the difference. She gave a good theatrical performance turning round to look at it, huffed & puffed, got the calculator out again (!) and I got the full £40 back.
Was available in another store I went to as well, labels not removed either. I just don't need another kettle though.
Scanned low for me today0
